A raccoon woke me up at 3am trying to get into my attic and in the proccess ripped a row of shingles off of my roof down by the gutters .  I called ARK trapping.  Mr Herbert was polite and courteous on the phone and promptly arrived at my home at the specified time and date.  I had even asked if he could call me when he was about 5 minutes away so that I could put up my crazy dog, which he did.  when he arrivedhe assessed the situation.  showed me where the raccoon had been climbing the downspouts to gain access to the roof, did a visual inspection of the roof and and determined that the raccoon had not gained entry to the attic but just to be sure, went and did an inspection of the attic from the inside.  he explained that it was more than likely a female looking for a place to nest and that they can be very tenacious in trying to get into someplace they think is a prime nesting spot. we discussed my options and decided that the best course of action was to install a drip edge made of a thick gauge metal so that the raccoon would not be able to tear through it and would give up and leave.  Mr. Herbert installed the drip edge making them wide enough so they the metal fit up under the second row of shingles giving me protection from the weather until I could get a roofer out there to repair the roof.  he also sealed the ends of the ridge vent (another area raccoons like to tear into on roofs).  Mr Herbert was very knowledgible about animal habits and tendancies, he worked quickly and provided quality work at a fair and honest price.  As a confirmation of this, I had  two  roofing companies come out for estimates on the shingle repair, and both estimators commented on the good quality of work on the drip edge and vent seal.
ps. the raccoon has not been back.

We were very pleased with the services provided by Burt of ARK Trapping.  During the first telephone contact, Burt gave us directions on how to encourage the animal (which we first thought was a skunk) to move on.  The process took about three days.  It was unsuccessful, but had it worked, Burt would have helped us out with no charge.  Once it became apparent that whoever had taken up residence was determined to stay, Burt came to our home to look over the situation.  We followed through with him because of how helpful he was over the phone and the fact that he spoke of his commitment to manage the situation in a humane way.  We did not want the animal (along with any young that had already been born) harmed or killed.  Relocation may have been necessary and difficult for her/him but we felt very strongly that we wanted the animal(s) handled humanely and with as little trauma as possible.
When he arrived, Burt told us immediately that we did not have a resident skunk but that a female fox had set up her den.  He told us what he would recommend, the length of time it would take, and gave us an estimate of cost.  He set up the traps at the main entrance to the den.  He said the female would probably be seriously unhappy with the traps, dig her way out, and move her kits if any had already been born.  That appears to be what happened as the traps had a tunnel dug underneath them.  Burt watched the traps for any sign of activity, ensured no kits were still in the nest, and closed it up with an area of concrete blocking the entrance.
I am grateful to Burt for what I believe was concern for the well-being of the fox and her kits.  While we could not continue to allow her extensive digging or the hunting she was doing in the back yard (we had evidence of squirrel kills) as we have a dog, we wanted her to be moved elsewhere without having to harm her or her young.  I believe the way Burt handled the situation gave us the best chance to meet those criteria and I am very relieved.
Burt was easy to work with, handled everything very professionally, followed through....the whole thing was made very easy for us.  We have no hesitation in recommending ARK Trapping.

We could not be more impressed with the service.  Mr. Herbert reviewed the ground for tracks and asked about whether local dogs entered our yard.  He placed traps so that local dogs would not get near them, and used bait that would not attract cats.  He committed to remove all skunks; if a lactating mother were, he would wait until she had weened her young so that all could be trapped .

They did a great job.  The sealing job that they did was pretty expensive.  They were very responsive and came out right away.  They did a thorough investigation of whole house and made recommendations and let us decide which one to go with.  It could only work when the weather was dry so they came back as soon as they could to follow up and do all the outdoor work, so we were pleased with them.  They were honest and they were reasonably priced.  We didn’t call a bunch of different companies because we had to get somebody at the house immediately; however, to me the price was very reasonable.

I originally called another animal removal company. But because they were out of area, they gave me Bert's number. When I called Bert he was very professional on the phone and answered all of my questions. As a matter of fact, he even told me of a method I could try first before using his professional services. Of course, as he said, if that didn't solve the problem in this particular case, I could call him for his services. But by Bert giving me his free consulation it shows that he truly cares about fixing the issue and is not trying to make a "quick buck". If, in fact, I do need him for additional assistance to come to my home, which I very well might, I'd call him in a heartbeat. Thanks Bert, A+! I highly recommend Ark Trapping.

I heard some noises in the attic and called Arc Trapping to investigate.  He was able to accommodate me for the time and date that I needed which was great.  I think that I called on a Monday or a Tuesday for a Friday appointment so it was great that he was able to fit me in!

He was late getting to the house but explained that someone called with an emergency (they had found a racoon that was acting funny).  It turns out that the racoon possibly had rabies so I understand the need to take care of that immediately.

After checking out the entire celing he went into the attic and discovered that we had/have mice (didn't see any but saw evidence of some having been up there).  He laid traps and did an inspection around the outside and discovered some ways that the critters were possibly getting in.  He wrote up an estimate for fixing the holes and let me think it over.  Of course it didn't take much convincing us that we needed the work done.

It took a few weeks before we could get him back over because of the weather (he wouldn't do any work while it was raining).

We made an appointment and again he was late getting there.  It turns out that he had gone to the hospital so I was surprised when he said that he would come over to do the work.  I actually tried to talk him out of it but he insisted.  If that's not dedication, I don't know what is!

When he arrived he and assistant did all of the work in no time at all.

Overall, I felt that I got a good deal and am happy with the work.

Bert responded with a good quote for the services needed. Rather than charge on a per critter caught, it was a flat fee for all. The issue was that we were hearing something running through our attic and we weren't sure whether they were squirrels or a raccoon. When he came out he investigated our attic and then check the roof of our townhouse. He resolved that the only entry port was actually not through our roof but through a hole in our adjoining neighbors.  After explaining the situation to the neighbor, we were able to seal the hole in their roof. This was after several traps were set and four squirrels were caught. Bert was very professional the entire time and if he was running behind made sure to reach out and let us know.

Basically, there were squirrels in the attic, throwing out the insulation. We called Bert at Ark Trapping, who came out and gave an estimate. He charges a flat fee for trapping, rather than charging foreach animal caught (thereby eliminating having to pay for the trapping of the neighbors cat or random squirrels from the surrounding area.). Because of his expertise with squirrels,he was able to humanely catch the colony who had taken over our house. He made numerous trips, sometimes twice a day, to service the traps.

I had a little trouble at first. I didn't think to make sure the parking space on the side of the house was open before the workers arrived (a neighbor's car was parked in the stree there).  They needed this space in order to get the ladder up high enough.  They were very polite and and felt bad that I had taken off of work and no work could be done.  They even offered to come on the weekend and not charge the usual extra fee for weekend service.  Very nice even though the mistake was my fault.

Eventually got them rescheduled for a weekday when my wife would be home.  They showed up a couple hours late, but did a great job on everything.

As a side note, they handled what could of been a bad situation well.  The night before they came we had a bad storm and it tore a decorative attic vent/shutter off the house where the vents are.  Apparently someone in the neighborhood saw the work being done and accused them of damaging the side of the house.  They took it in stride and diffused the situation well.

Overall the experience was excellent.  The owner of Ark Trapping arrived as he promised, assessed the problem quickly, and fixed it on the first try.  My daughter, who lives at the property and had reported the birds trying to enter the kitchen stove exhaust vent, called to tell me the appointment went very smoothly.  She called me again two days later to report that after several hours of trying, the wannabe nesting pair of starlings have given up trying to get into her vent and have moved on elsewhere.  She is completely pleased.

The guy was extremely helpful and he took care of it. He followed up at time and everything was resolved. I didn't think the price was outrageous or anything; obviously it was something we were okay with. He was a very nice guy. If he tells you he will do something, he did it and if he was unable to do it, then he would go out of his way trying to backs up with something else. He did whatever it took to at least equals or above that. We will use their service in the future without any doubt.

I had squirrels in my attic. Called one company about 6 weeks ago and they could find no evidence of squirrel entry. Several weeks later I went up in the attic and saw two squirrels in a nest. Called the same company, made an appointment and no one ever showed up, not even a phone call. Called Ark Trapping on 04/22/2010 and an appointment was set up for 04/26/2010. Owner came out even though is was wet and rainy and inspected both the roof and the attic. He set traps and by the end of the week all 5 squirrels were trapped and removed. He taped over the suspected entry points and came back on 5/3/2010 to find no more squirrel activity and permanently closed the suspected entry points. The owner was very courteous and professional. I would highly recommend Ark Trapping to anyone with animals in their home.

Bert with Ark Trapping was very accomodating to this job since my fiancee and I had to leave for a vacation trip during the middle of it. He set 5 traps, 3 on the roof and 2 on the ground by the trees the squirrels were using to get to the roof. Overall at least 10 squirrels were caught, possibly due to me having to leave for vacation during the middle of the job and Bert not being able to complete the work until I got back (completely understandable). He trapped the last squirrels when I returned from vacation, and repaired the roof using custom matched aluminum strips that blend perfectly with the house trim. I only needed to be at the house on the first and last days of the job, since he didn't need access to the inside of the home. Ark Trapping charged $325 up front for trapping the animals, there was no per/animal fee (which would have been quite expensive I imagine . . . ) Overall I am very pleased and would highly recommend this company.

He was fairly priced and very responsive. My problem is that I need to call him back and have him do some more work on it. For what I called him out on, he took his time with it and he showed me exactly where the issues were. He showed me the holes in my roof line that could cause animals to go in.
