Rick and his staff at Aits Septic Repair provided EXCELLENT service! I called Rick Sunday afternoon and told him that my Septic alarm was going off and I had no clue what the problem was. Other companies I called didn't pick up their phones or it went straight to voice mail because it was a Sunday. Rick took the time over the phone with me to troubleshoot the issue but we both agreed after 15 minutes that he would need to come out. At first he wasn't going to be able to come out until the next day but we both were worried about the septic system and he came to my house within an hour of the call. Most companies might take advantage of someone in this situation but Rick is an honest man and told me that there was nothing wrong with the pump itself and what caused the issue was a faulty outlet that the pump was plugged into. Rick removed the faulty outlet, fixed the wiring and within 30 minutes my pump was back to working condition and pushed everything back to the septic fields. Thanks Rick for the quick response and excellent customer service. I will be sure to call you for all future work on my system.

We recently had some major work performed by Aits Septic Repair.  Replacing main tank due to root intrusion, updating/replacing main line, conveyance line, distribution boxes and header lines. Rick is the real deal, he's very hands on and puts his experience and knowledge to good work. I've had the unfortunate luck to work with another septic company - not even close.  Aits' high ratings are definitely earned. 
Timeframe - weather set the start date back a little, then we had few nice clear days.  Crack of dawn, Ricky and his crew worked efficiently and professionally, wrapping up the large project in about 3 days.

Everything went well. Initial call, scheduling, arrival, service, etc. No problems whatsoever. There's not much more to say.

It went extremely well. Rick was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Despite the weather, Rick stayed in contact with us to let us know when we could expect our project to be completed. He obtained all the necessary permits in a timely fashion. Once they began the repairs, they found that my issues stemmed from the roots of a large, maple tree was clogging the lines. The project ended up being more expensive than the original estimate due to the unforeseen tree roots, but it was well worth having Rick on the job and he gave me an unbelievable deal. I will definitely hire him again.

In a pinch, I called AITS and Rick responded by phone personally within minutes. Although he was on another job, he walked me through some common check points over the phone. Then, he committed to swing by at the end of his work day around 6 pm. He was able to come in and fix the problem with supplies he had on his truck. And -- wonder of wonders -- no charge! He said that since he was in the area and the supplies involved were minimal, that there was no charge. He just asked that we consider him for future work. Done!!!
Suffice it to say that the "AITS Repair" sticker went on top of the sticker of the (totally unresponsive septic service company) that used to reside on my septic control box.

We've had problems with out septic system for years.  The company who installed the system hasn't been helpful, so we decided to call another company for evaluation.  Rick spent a considerable amount of time, on a bitter-cold morning, checking all components of our septic system.  Ultimately, he offered to phone the county office to further pursue our options.  Rick was professional, courteous, and seemed genuinely interested in helping us solve our problem.

Rick replaced our septic pumps and redid our holding tank 3 years ago. One of our pumps stopped working recently so we called Rick and he came out the next day.  After concluding the pump was bad, he apologized and explained that the pumps are supposed to last up to 15 years.  He came back today with a new pump but first spent over an hour cleaning out the motor on the existing pump in the hopes he could fix it. He was able to get the existing pump running again.
 Rick is one of the most honest, decent people I have ever met. He and his assistant  are polite, neat and they left the property without a trace of evidence that they were there.

Rick Aits was very professional and particularly fair. I would highly recommend him.

Rick did an excellent job in replacing the failed pump with a recommended better quality pump. His responsiveness, knowledge, attention to detail, and the quality of his work is noteworthy. I highly recommend this company for any septic repair service work.

My rule of thumb is get three bids.  On Monday, June 29, 2014, I called two companies. The second one put me in direct contact with the owner (Rick)  who came out within an hour of my call when I said water is pouring out of the control panel. When I met him, I knew I didn't get three bids. With the recent passing of my husband, I worry about being taken advantage of. Rick is as he seems, genuinely honest and I would not be taken to the cleaners.
He discovered both septic tanks were full and the alarm system switch had been accidentally moved so there was no warning and the pump switch was moved to manual from auto which burned out the pump. There was also a voltage issue. To get my tanks emptied quickly, he called in another company versus using his family's business. At that point, I knew I did not need to call and get quotes for the work, he had the job!!
His electrician come out to see what was causing the voltage issues and by July 1st, he was onsite prepared to replaced the pump. By 1 pm, we were able to run the dishwasher and wash clothes after 3 days. Rick will meet the county inspector so I don't have to. I couldn't have asked for a better company to show up.
They have my permanent business. I have learned what I didn't know about septic systems and how to manage them. He took the time to  teach me. Every 3-4 years, I will call up their company to empty my tanks to avoid any chance of overflow.

The alarm on our septic tank was going off. I called the  company we have been using for  51/2 years and they said  one pump was broken and the other was almost broken. Even before I compared prices I knew their quote was high so I turned to Rick, based on reviews on Angies List. 
From the moment I spoke with Rick I felt confident he knew what he was doing and was not out to overcharge me. I spoke with him 6pm the night before and by 10am the next morning he had contacted the county offices to establish requirements, bought two new pumps and arrived ready to do the installation. 
Rick is a professional with integrity. His quote was much less than the company based nearer to my home who clearly think they can ask ridiculous amounts and people will just pay out of desperation to get the problem fixed.
I plan to only use Aits Septic Repair in the future and would highly recommend this company.

Rick Aits is phenomenal!!!  His company is number one as far as I'm concerned.  I'm a Realtor and have had the pleasure of referring my clients to him over the past several years for septic inspections, cleanings and work when it was deemed necessary. This past March, I had clients who sold their home, and as part of the contract terms, needed a comprehensive septic inspection (this was to include the pump station, cleaning of the tank, uncovering and inspecting the distribution boxes as well as cleaning the filter of the septic tank.).  My clients first called another septic contractor whose quote I found to be rather high and I disagreed that two camera inspections and jet spraying  the drain field lines was necessary.  I asked my clients if it would be ok if I contacted one of my contractors.  I explained I would like to get another opinion and quote so I called Aits Septic Repair Service.  Rick came over to the property the next day (he worked me in) and did a visual of the septic system and then went to the drain field (which was over 300 yards away from the house).  He went to the county, checked their records and did his due diligence in obtaining what was required in order for him to proceed.  Rick met me at the drain field and we discussed the options and costs that would be associated with the job.  I contacted my client (who was well aware this was going to be very involved and a daunting task).  We were down to the wire with the septic contingency on the contract but Rick told me he would meet the deadline (which was 7 days away).  Rick and his crew got in there and cleared a 25 x 25 yard drain field of massive trees that had grown over top of it along with brush, undergrowth and common debris.  He got a back hoe in there, then a stump grinder and wood chipper and did away with over thirty 20-30 foot tree trunks and roots. We went from it looking like a scene in the forest from one of the Lord of the Rings movies to a soccer field when he was done.  His estimate was less expensive than the first company's AND his work was more comprehensive.  My clients were very happy because we made the deadline and went to closing with no problem.  The new owners are elated as they have a brand new cleared drain field.
Rick is thorough, professional, easy to work with, informative, responsive, timely, HONEST and phenomenal.  I could not recommend any contractor more highly than I recommend Aits Septic Repair Service!!!

We moved into our old house in Nokesville, VA in November, 2014 and that very night our septic tank overflowed. It was a challenging time for our family and when Rick showed up and confidently determined that he could get my old system healthy again made me rest at ease. It would be wise of you to at least get give Rick a chance at helping you out, very knowledgeable and has a great relationship and respect within the permitting department which can be helpful in moving repairs along.

Wayne, showed up and explain everything that was going to take place. Although a simple pump out did not seem to involved, Wayne answered all my additional questions pertaining to a septic system. Providing me with a better understanding on how to maintain a septic system in good working order.
