We highly recommend Timothy's Roofing. Russ responded quickly to our call for an estimate, did a good review of the roof issue, and provided a reasonable estimate with no pressure and no up-sell. The job was completed on time as promised. The installers did a great job and a full cleanup when finished. Another plus worth mentioning - Timothy's does not collect any up-front deposit - payment is made when the job is finished and the customer is satisfied. The roof looks great - thank you Russ and Timothy's!

Russ is a consummate professional. He arrived on time, and gave us a competitive price. I notified him on Friday that I accepted his bid, and he had the shingles delivered the following Monday. The roof was installed the next day. The crew that installed the roof was the hardest working of guys I have ever seen. When they left, you would have never known that they had been there. The roof looks great. Although I hate having work done on my house, I have to say that this was a great experience. I would hire Timothy's again in a heart beat. Thanks again Russ and your crew for a job well done.

Called Timothy's Roofing and left a message. Russ called me within 10 minutes to set up an appointment. His crew came out as promised and Russ called me to give me his evaluation. We set up a time for Russ to come out to our house and talk about the project. I was able to get my roof done within a week from our meeting. We picked the architectural shingles and the roof looks beautiful. We are so happy with the roof and the great service that we were given. We were so impressed with the service that we had them install new screens over the gutters. Russ did an exceptional job with customers service.

Timothy's Roofing Company is absolutely the best, most professional, and methodical roofing company I have interviewed. We had them replace our roof and gutters at two of our previous homes, including my elderly parents' house. The hail hit hard in May and did an extensive amount of damage to our current home. Timothy's has always gone way above the basics. They have their own crew, and are a family-owned business. They pay extensive attention to detail and work regular hours until they finish the job. They also take care of their employees with inspections making sure they are properly secured with lines per OSHA specs,, and take the proper amount of breaks to keep them alert which is exceedingly important in hot weather. Their sales manager, Russ Robertson, was very knowledgeable, helpful, and had an excellent understanding of insurance claims and HOAs. They replaced our gutters also, and took the time to get the color just right in order to match the existing gutters and house. That was included in the price. Our roof is large and steep and we also had a sunroom and gazebo roof that needed to be replaced. Our new architectural shingles and gutters are beautiful and have a lifetime warranty. We are so happy we chose Timothy's again.

I recently hired Timothy's Roofing of Alexandria, VA to replace the old shingles of my newly purchased house in Alexandria (note, not the other Timothy's Roofing from Arlington, VA). My choice of this company was based four factors: (1) it is a GAF certified Master Elite company; (2) Russ, the operation manager demonstrated during the initial evaluation process his extensive knowledge and experiences about roofing and related structures; (3) Russ was able to provide a work plan that custom fit the needs of my property; and (4) the pricing was competitive and costs were made clear up front. More impressively, Russ and his crew carried out the job very professionally, and Russ was present almost all the time and worked with his crew closely. The old roof-deck decayed more than expected, but the crew were able to make nimble adjustments and replaced wherever was necessary to replace---they really know what they do! I am happy now that my entire roof is new from inside out! They also added new framing for additional strengths to the old structure and did not charge for that, because it was not mentioned in the contract. Again, I am impressed by their adherence to the written contract and, at the same time, their goodwill to benefit a customer with added work without an added price. The crew was very skilled and did a very clean disassembly job on a run-down storage room and returned the affected roof line to the original configuration; everything was just done to my satisfaction! I definitely recommend this company to my neighbors!

I would highly recommend Timothy’s Roofing for any roofing need. They do excellent work, are extremely competent, honest and very hard working. My townhome needed a new skylight because the old one had leaked. Russ came out to give me an estimate for replacement. We found out that the existing skylight was a non-standard size and to exactly replace it would require a special order and it would take several weeks to be manufactured. Russ suggested that he could use a standard size skylight by making a few modifications to the roof. I agreed and he and his crew installed the new skylight the same day. Since I live out of town, Russ sent me pictures during the process. They did a super job. What a nice guy and an outstanding company. Russ told me they like to treat their customers like family and they sure do. I have already told several people about my great experience with Timothy’s Roofing. I wish they worked in Pittsburgh!

Great service and cost. Russ was excellent to work with. He was great explaining the process and options in providing the estimate. The entire project went smoothly. I was kept informed throughout. Russ and the team arrived at 7:30 and the new shingle roof was completed that afternoon. Their workmanship was excellent. Clean up was outstanding. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Overall an excellent experience. Russ was easy to worth with and very responsive to all my phone calls, text messages, and emails. The original estimate for the roof was $8,000 however once the 20+ year old shingles were removed it was determined that all the wood underneath was rotted and needed to be replaced. The additional cost came to $2,300 bringing the overall total for the roof to $10,300. The job was completed in 1 day with a few finishing touches the following day. All gutters were cleaned out and all debris was cleaned around the property. The entire experience went smoothly and I would highly recommend in the future to anyone in need of a new roof.

The leak you experienced was due to the satellite wire that ran from the outside of the house into the attic. You were not over charged for anything and in fact we did not even charge you for the additional work that was done when they went back."

Everything went very smoothly from start to finish on a large, rather complex roof. This is a family business, and Russ -- who handles the residential side and was our initial contact -- was on site for the actual installation both days. The crew was efficient, professional, and very tidy. Everything around the house was protected, and they cleaned up thoroughly at the end of the first day and the end of the job. Russ's brother Timothy -- who owns the company -- installed the new rubber flat roof himself. A key factor that motivated us to use this company is that they are a certified GAF master elite roofing contractor, which enabled us to get GAF's gold pledge warranty, good for 50 years on the shingles and 25 years on workmanship. We definitely recommend Timothy's Roofing.

They arrived at 7 a.m. and got immediately to work. The crew handled the tough work--stripping the existing shingles and removing the rubber roof) and had that done shortly after I left for work at 8:15. The new shingle roof was up by noon according to a neighbor. Tim (the owner of the company) did the installation of the rubber membrane and Russ (his brother and the sales rep for the company) did the gutters. The crew, meanwhile, cut and attached the flashing and cleaned up the work site. They were done by 4:30 p.m. The final product looks great!! There were no incidental charges and we paid the difference on the bill once the work was completed.
Note: the shingle manufacturer (GAF does charge an additional $85.00 to record the installation and provide a warranty on their product. We'll get that so we can transfer the warranty to the new owners when we sell the house in about a year and a half.

A few months after the repair in 2012, we experienced the derecho in Virginia. We noticed that our ceilings were leaking again in the same places even though Timothy's Roofing came out to our house several months before and supposedly fixed the problem. I called Timothy's Roofing to come back to our house to fix what they should have fixed before. The receptionist told me that she would call a technician and get back to me. She called me back the next day and said she was told by the technician to tell me my roof leaked because there was so much rain from the derecho. Seriously? And they did not send anyone to my home to reexamine our ceilings or make further repairs.
Fast forward to 2015 when I am now an Angie's List member. We have been getting a lot of rain in Virginia this summer and again saw that our porch ceiling was leaking. I called Timothy's Roofing to tell them we have a leak and it was not sufficiently fixed from the last time we had them do the work. I asked them to come to the house to look at it. The receptionist said she would check schedules and get back to me. That was a week ago and no one from Timothy's Roofing has returned my call.
Timothy's Roofing is absolutely awful in customer service - I can only speak to the receptionist who obviously has no technical knowledge of roof repair. Timothy's Roofing doesn't even get the job right in the first place. We would never use them again and would never recommend them to others. I'm also ashamed to say the business is located in our neighborhood. "We did this repair in 2012 at which time it was fixed properly. There is a 6 month warranty on repairs and 3 year labor warranty on complete roofs. Anything can happen in that period of time. We did have you on our list to come out and take a look at it, we have had over 13 inches of rain this month which in turn has not only backed us up but we have had many emergency calls and have been doing our best to get to everyone. Our office manager does in fact go above and beyond her job and ensures the best customer service she can provide, she is not in fact a technician. We understand it is impossible to please everyone but we do stand by our work and our customer service and always get the job done. We are sorry that we did not have an exact time for you but you can imagine with the rain we have had this month we have had an overwhelming amount of calls."

Tim's crew did the roof one day and the siding and gutters the next. Given the rains we just had end of last last week I would say
great job. Where I used to have issues, are now gone as is the worrying that went with it. I have used Tim before on minor issues so it was a no-brainer on this major issue. Will definitely use in future.

Fantastic experience! As a single woman and homeowner, I'm always apprehensive about seeking home improvement services. I noticed their work truck in my neighborhood when I walked my dog so I decided to call Timothy's Roofing. Their office staff was very professional and kind; they took my information and within a few minutes I received a call from Russ. Not only was Russ very familiar with the neighborhood, completely knowledgable and confident in his product and service, he accommodated my crazy schedule! The crew showed up on time and left no traces of construction debris behind. Russ' attention to detail was uncanny. He remembered all my concerns about the project - from leaking roof and porch addition, to my color choice aprehensions and my concern about my older dog and her reaction to the crew. I was kept informed throughout the project. Even when it was discovered that the porch was never tied into the roof structure properly and needed to be repaired - They fixed it all! They went above and beyond "customer service" and treated my home like family. Do not hesitate to call Timothy's Roofing!

This company replaced a roof in 2006 on a house I then bought in 2012. The roof had a 10 year warranty. When the roof did leak in 2015 I called and they stated the 10 year warranty is only for materials but there's only a 3 year warranty on labor. They considered a leaking roof to fall under labor. I asked if someone could come out and they said not for 2 weeks. I'm selling the house so a 2 week timeframe wasn't going to work.
I would advise reading the warranty information from them very carefully and asking lots of question to see what is actually covered under the roof warranty and what isn't. I have replaced a roof before and a 10 year warranty was a 10 year warranty.

"We have never done work for this person. We provided a warranty to the previous owners that never had any issues with the roof and it is very clearly stated on our contracts that the three year labor warranty is on workmanship and the ten year warranty is on material. This is very thoroughly explained not only on our contracts but also by our estimator before the contract is signed. It seems it is not clear to this person because we have never done any work for her and she has no contract with us. We offered to have this explained but she was very rude and immediately cut off our secretary and stated she would be filing a negative report without wanting to hear how the warranty works."

Russ and the crew arrived shortly after 8:00 am, after letting my know the day before that they had an opening and could fit this job in. Their supplier delivered the shingles the day before, also. The crew brought in a truck and tarps to catch any debris. Then, they went to work and worked steadily for just over 6 hours, finishing all the work about 3:30 pm. This included painting the new fascia and trim that they had installed. They also cleaned up the site entirely; no mess left behind at all! They were all pleasant and professional, and very hard-working. I would use Timothy's again and recommend them highly!

We needed a new roof, but we didn't really have any education on the process. Russ met us at our house on a Wednesday night and took the time to explain all the facets of a new roof. He was very frank about his use of certain material vs "the other guys" and explained pitfalls dealing with warranties. After the meeting we were convinced we were in good hands. The materials were ordered on Thursday and the roof was finished by Friday at 5. I believe you should definitely talk to Russ before you make any decision on roofing.
