 + -1 moreWe have a regular service tech that we always schedule. They give us a 4 hour window and always call to let us know when we're the next customer with an estimated time of arrival. He did not have to clean the a/c inside unit as last year. He checked everything over, both inside and out and even checked to be sure the drain pan tube was not clogged. He's become a welcome Spring visit every year for our a/c system. Another tech does our boiler in the fall. I highly recommend this company.

 + -1 moreWe are relatively new customers of this firm, but we like them a lot. They perform maintenance and make recommendations for our 2 heating and A/C units. They charge about half of what our previous firm charged and they more thorough. The maintenance contract also gives you priority service should a unit fail unexpectedly. They are very professional, arrive on time (they even call when they're on the way), and clean up the work area.
Description of Work: Maintenance contract for semi-annual inspection and maintenance of 2 heating and A/C systems.

They are always prompt with appointments (we usually have "first call" in the mornings) and if they are traffic issues they ALWAYS call to let us know how far behind they are running. All the techs have been very professional and they always leave the house in the same condition as when they arrived (they all wear booties when they enter the home). They thoroughly check out the systems and let us know of any issues that need attention.

One of the units went down and we solicited proposals from several companies. Comfort Solutions did not submit the lowest bid but their proposal and professionalism were by far superior so we decided to go with them. We were very satisfied with our dealings with everyone from the owner to the installation crew. Recently, our other unit was ready for replacement and we again shopped around. This time, Comfort Solutions came in with the lowest bid and we again selected them. We were once again very satisfied with our experience. We highly recommend them - they will work with you to ensure your satisfaction!

 + 0 moreI was very pleased with what they accomplished. One thing that really stood out was they stated they cleaned the ducts first before they sealed them. Other companies did not even mention this step. They informed me what my leakage was prior to doing the sealing and also gave me a report showing me before and after results. The entire team was extremely polite and they cleaned up as they went along. Aerosealing ducts is a process that seals the leaks in your current ducts. It is suppose to help with energy efficiency.
Description of Work: Had my ducts cleaned and then sealed with Aeroseal.

 + 1 moreComfort Solutions does a couple things right...right away. They talk respectively of their competition, but clearly define what makes Comfort Solutions a better choice for the lifetime of your product. Next...the interest Comfort Solutions took in my individual concerns and needs. One thing I was taken by was the workers took about 1.5 hours to make the installation "look" clean and well done. The work wasn't "roughed" in, instead it was tediously placed into the best possible position for both functionality of the units and the appearance of the utility closet. For instance, a 3/4inch copper line from the outside heat pump only needed to run from point "A" to point "B"...but for the accessibility to the rest of the closet....he spent a lot of effort to make two unnecessary turns...which made the difference between a walk space...and a crawl space. I found this nature of workmanship repeated throughout all of the unique and onsite manufactured installation pats...from the duct work...to the humidifier. Now the filters are accessible....where before, they were a problem. Another thing I noticed, was the way these guys used the tools. A lot can be understood by how technicians operate...by how he manages his hand tools. From using the tools, to cleaning them...to storing them. Professionals have a way about them...and these guys (4 of them) have that trait. When I've used the competition on a previous house, I felt I had to watch them....Comfort Solutions professionalism allowed me to let them do the work and not watch every detail. From the owner to the sales support staff...right down to the kid that did the digging to level the Heat Pump...the job was done correctly and on time.
Description of Work: Just bought a new house...proud that we found a new school system for our kids, beautiful house, and a place where my wife and I could enjoy our yard. Everything was wonderful until the first cold snap...then the furnace failed. I had a new system installed into our old house before we left because I'm not only stupid...but I'm honest. I could not let the previous house sell with a system that was dying. Unlike the people that sold us this new house...enough said. Anyway, we found several problems with freezing to death in our new house. First...freezing isn't fun. Next...when you are freezing, the HVAC businesses start pushing you around...knowing intricately that you are on the Freezing end of the stick. Another problem is as a man...your wife and kids start to ignore you in freezing temperatures...which adds to depression. One last note on a freezing house...is your pets lay on your face, body, knees....anything that keeps them warmer. Sleep deprivation is the by-product of a dog laying on your chest all night. So...I researched on my own...5 companies and set appointments to meet them all. Home Depot will never step foot in my house again. Lowes doesn't have a solution. Costco doesn't have installation teams in DC. Then I had 2 local companies bid. One...caught up in the shark feeding...didn't look at the solution..only the money. That left a shot in the dark I was taking with a Company Called Comfort Solutions in Northern Virginia. Upon doing more research on the 6 options they offered, I took the Carrier Infinity Hybrid System. New heat pump, new gas furnace, new filters, humidifiers, and thermostat...water heater...and UV mold sterilizer. the complete works for a home "Comfort Solution"...

The communication from the company was excellent at all levels--to schedule appointments, to keep me apprised of the progress of the work, to schedule follow-up work, etc. Everyone whom I dealt with at the company was pleasant, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Technicians arrived promptly for scheduled appointments: they were extremely neat and clean when working in my home, to the point where it was hard even to tell that they'd been there. There were some unanticipated challenges to the installation, which the company clearly communicated to me, and for which solutions were appropriately and successfully identified and implemented. The overall installation was very impressively and professionally conducted and completed. The lead technician was top-notch both substantively and personally. I am completely delighted with my new HVAC system, and feel that it was a good value and installed by experts. The company also did all sorts of "little things" very well: they assisted with submitting product warranty and rebate information, and they consistently scheduled appointments that were convenient for me, rather than requiring me to accommodate their schedule. I was thoroughly impressed by and appreciative of the entire experience. As a long-time homeowner I've worked with dozens of contractors and service providers over the years. My experience with Comfort Solutions ranks at the top of the handful of fully positive experiences I'm managed to have with those many contractors and service providers. I could not recommend them more highly.
Description of Work: The company's president first came to look at my existing HVAC system, which I was looking to have replaced. He did a thorough review of that system, and then presented me with several replacement options a few days later. The written options were thoroughly and clearly described and priced--a very impressive presentation. I selected the option I had chosen, the work was scheduled, and then my old compressor and air handler were replaced with a new compressor and heat pump/air handler system.

 + 0 moreWe have an EXTREMELY tight utility closet, and Comfort Solutions was able to figure out how to fit everything properly and professionally - things look great. Proposals/quotes from other companies ranged from "the Carrier units won't fit" to "we'll have to remove the hot water heater to even complete the work". Rich Jones spent a good amount of time figuring out his game plan and was able to fit everything seamlessly. The Comfort team was respectful of our home and was extremely neat and tidy throughout the whole job. I'm pretty picky when it comes to quality work, and Comfort made absolutely sure I was 100% satisfied with the install - those guys take pride in their work. Pricing was in-line with 3 other estimates I received. Bottom line - Solid work by professionals at a fair price. What else could you ask for with any service company?
Description of Work: Complete rip and replace of existing older HVAC system. Replaced with Carrier Infinity furnace/AC system, Carrier Media filtration, and Honeywell powered humidifier. Carrier Rebate brought the true cost down to 9300.00. Many other companies build the Carrier rebate into the estimate, so beware of estimates that might appear to be 1000.00 less.

 + -1 moreWe had four companies look at our old Carrier Heating/Air Conditioning Equipment and requested their estimates for replacement equipment. Qwner Rich Jones of Comfort Solutions, Inc. personally provided a prompt detailed estmate of cost giving us sevaral alternatives with varying cost. When we selected the highest-efficiency alternative the equipment had a large footprint. He came back to help us select a workable location for the outdoor unit. Two installers from Comfort solutions, Inc.arrived on-time on the scheduled date and worked all day to complete the the installation in one day. Their work was very professional and the were careful to maintain clean work areas and to thoroughly clean up after they finished. We were pleased with every aspect of this purchase and installation. The new equipment has performed efficiently and flawlessly through a first winter and summer. I would use the same company for any future requiremnets for new heating and air conditioning equipment.
Description of Work: a. Remove and dispose of old Carrier Electric Furnace/Air Handler, Outdoor Air Conditioning Unit and wall copper tubing. b. Route new larger size copper tubing from attic level down through two walls and crawlspace connecting iindoor and outdoor units. c. Install new Carrier Infinity High-Efficiency Heat Pump, Air Handler/Electric Furnace and Digital Thermostat.

 + -1 moreMy main HVAC system was not working and I called Comfort Solutions. The initially tried to help me resolve the problem on the phone. When it was clear that wasn't going to work they sent someone to my home in several hours. That individual determined that the blower motor on the unit was not working and would have to be replaced. They ordered the part for me immediately, helped to make sure it was covered by the warranty, and had it in hand the next day. The day after that it was installed and running fine. This type of fast capable service is what I like about this company and why I will continue to use them. However this story took a different twist, when the driver pulled out on the first visit he accidentally tore up some grass on the side of my driveway. I called that day and with no questions asked Comfort Solutions said they would take care of it. When the driver returned he brought sod with him and did an excellent job of repairing the damage.
