Big Steve's Tree Care

Big Steve's was the least expensive of 3 estimates we got to have the trees removed. They arrived promptly on the scheduled day, and took everything down quickly and safely. The trees were in a less than ideal spot for access, but they guys got everything down, and cut the logs up into firewood sized chunks. All small debris was chipped and hauled away, and they cleaned up after themselves, even clearing the fallen leaves off the driveway.

Steve's folks did a great job. His estimate described in detail, everything to be done,which really help me. He left the work site in perfect condition.

They were neat and clean and did a good job. I will continue to use Big Steve's in the future they were excellent. Love getting written estimate it takes out the guess work. They have been courteous and professional throught the entire process. I am going to use them for my whole yard. They are my company for tree service. They were half of the other two estimates that I recieved. Highly recommend them to my neighbors and anyone that needs tree service.

Completed work while I was not home which was convienent. A few weeks after the service I noticed one small dead branch in one of the trees that was not removed. Could have been easily overlooked as I didn't even notice it myself until several weeks after the service. I would just remove it myself but I dont have a ladder tall enough. Overall good job.

This is the second year in a row that we've purchased firewood from Big Steve's. Each time, they have delivered on schedule and been extremely courteous. Their employees quickly unloaded our firewood and even let our two kids peak inside the truck. The firewood is already seasoned and burned well last winter. We'll absolutely use them again next year.

We asked Steve and his crew to help us trim a mulberry tree (which turned out to be a weed) in our backyard since it was overgrown and parts of it were dead. The guys came on time, and did exactly what we needed. They worked fast, were professional and cleaned up the backyard after the job. All in all a great experience.

The tree was about 70-100 ft tall and 5 feet from my garage. Steve came out and gave me a written quote with several options to choose from; cut stump to flare or grind stump, etc. The final cost was very reasonable and I thought was a bargain. They arrived on time and finished early and were professional. I got a 2nd quote from another AL company which was 1,000 more than Big Steve's for the same service. Highly recommend.

They showed up late. They didn't have the right equipment, so they had to come back again the next day. The truck came fully loaded so they could try to squeeze me in that day - bark got all over my lawn, they didn't clean it up. They should have called me to tell me that they were running late and would just come the next day. They did half the job one day, the guy had to come back the next day with the stump remover to finish the job. One guy was dropping a big limb into one of my good trees, I had to say something to them about that. The job was dangerous the way they did it, it was split service, they were supposed to show up at 2 - they came at about 5, they showed up with a full truck, blew debris all over my property and my neighbors yard. I had to rake up everything, I am still cleaning up after it. I wasn't happy with the service.

They were very prompt with delivery and exactly on time. We asked them to dump it into the driveway and they did a great job with that. They did everything we asked from them and they were very friendly. I can speak very well of them.

Excellent work, and will use them again to remove a large maple tree in front yard.

Went well first time. When i needed possible additional work done in the fall he came and left bid to remive a large older tree w carpenter ant damage. Additional costs would be incurred to have existing tree house removed with the tree. I asked for a new bid. Never heard from him. Ironically, i had an arborist come and inspect the tree and it didnt even need to be cut down. Steve shouldve recommended further inspection to save such a large old tree. I ended up saving myself a lot of money by having another opinion.

I contacted Big Steve's about September 6 regarding tree work. Big Steve left me an estimate on Sept. 11, and they set up an appointment to perform the work on Sept 23. Big Steve's Tree Service was due to arrive at 3 p.m. on Sept. 23 and they arrived about 4:14. When they arrive they worked pretty quickly and removed all of the limbs without a problem. They took the limbs off of the property and ground them up in their truck. The limbs were about 20 feet from the ground, and they managed to cut the limbs and get them off the property without any damage to other trees or the yard. They completed the work by 5:50 p.m. and used a leaf blower to clean up the yard and the street. There were three workers who performed the work, and they were all polite and professional. I would consider using them again.

We are very pleased with Steve's. The crew came as scheduled, called 30 minutes before they arrived, and delivered the wood to our driveway. The wood was nice red oak, perfectly split.

Steve, himself, came to our home to survey and understand our needs. We expected to pay much more. Steve was professional, courteous, and very understanding for what would be required. He knew that I found him through Angie's List. How did he know? He does not advertise. People learn of his existence only via Angie's List. The crew worked flawlessly together, ensuring that nothing fell into the neighbor's yard or on our house, and ground the stumps and exposed roots. I am extremely satisfied with the quality and precision of Big Steve's professional team.

The crew members showed up early and were done by my appointment time. Fast, cheap, and perfect results. What more could I ask for?!

Great job and price. Got 5 estimates and he was $500 less than the next lowest bid. Crew was very professional and took care of surroundings (sprinkler system, etc). On time and would hire them again. Would also recommend to everyone. Thx Steve!!

Steve returned my calls right away every time. The crew was right on time and worked quickly. Everything was done correctly and completely cleaned up when finished including taking some brush I had removed earlier for no extra charge.

We recently moved into a home with several large trees within striking distance. Big Steve came out, gave an estimate to trim them back, as well as remove several twelve to fifteen foot tall trees that were growing haphazardly near the driveway. His estimate was about half of what I was expecting, so I was pleasantly surprised. Crew came out, cut stuff, cleaned up, and did a great job. We'll use Big Steve's again for routine tree maintenance/removal.

Steven quickly followed up after my husband sent an email. He came out and gave us an estimate that we thought was fair, and signed and schedule the work. He agreed with another company that we consider the Locust and a Bradford Pear in backyard needed to be removed. The trees were removed from our yard on a Friday morning while we were at work, and they ground up the two stumps a couple of days later. They also did some pruning of two trees in our front yard. Overall, they did the work as stated in the estimate, and they did an amazing job cleaning up after themselves. Steven was responsive to our questions and concerns. On a side note, most tree services use a mobile robotic unit to grind stumps, and given its weight it will leave tracks marks in your yard, especially if your lawn is wet. We?re not complaining, just letting others know this is not something you can't avoid if you want your tree stumps removal thoroughly. Also, Steve didn?t grind the stumps the first day because the ground was very wet so he waited a few days to minimize the impact.

This company did excellent work. I got 5 bids, and they were the most reasonable and responsive to my needs. A crew of three came, and it took over 5 hours to do all the work. They removed all debris. I wil continue to use them in the future.

Steve responded promptly when I called. He came out a few days later to look at the tree and sent me an estimate quickly. I had some follow up questions and he responded to my phone call promptly. Once I decided to have him do the work he called with a date and time for the service. The crew showed up as scheduled. It took almost a full day to take down the tree. They were going to come back the next day to grind the stump but when I explained that the neighbors were having a wedding at their house that day they arranged to have the stump ground that same afternoon, which I appreciated. We chose Big Steve after getting bids from 2 other providers on Angie's List. Steve had the best price and was the quickest in responding to my initial inquiry. The work was done on time and we are very happy with it. There was some confusion with scheduling the work--I was told my voicemail from my cell phone wasn't picking up. Once we switched to our home line the communication was better.

Arrived on time to provide free estimate. Estimate was on the low end of 5 collected. We decided on Big Steve's because of the honest discussion about the 120 foot Willow tree in question, price and professionalism. Professionally handled removal of the tree. Tree was within 5 feet of our house. Safety for both the crew, our house, neighbors house and our remaining 6 100+ foot trees in the vicinity were handled in a very professional manner. No damage to anything or anyone. Very little to no damage to yard grass. Recommend to all!
