Description of Work: He was agitated when he arrived to do an estimate- thought he was just a bad day?... was going to call with estimate for parts and never did. When I called, he quoted a (contractor)price that was higher than the price I was quoted from the manufacturer- When I inquired why, he became angry and stated I was getting a very low service repair price and then stated he didn't feel comfortable working with me and told me to request a refund. Obviously he didn't wish to honor the discounted rate that you posted on Angie's list

Description of Work: Honest. Couldn't fix my washer, but he was honest about it. He recommended similar machines for replacement. Nice person; didn't make me feel like an idiot with my questions. Overall good experience.

Description of Work: Mr. Ben Ahmed was contacted by me around 5:15 PM on Monday evening. He diagnosed the problem with my freezer in less than 4 minutes over the telephone. He arrived the next afternoon around Noon and had everything repaired within an hour. He was curteous, friendly & professional. He explained & showed me the defective parts. The price was more than fair, plus he left a $100.00 coupon for a future visit. I recommend him highly & I will use him again, if I need to.

Description of Work: I took advantage of the deal coupon, so the $105 shown as the amount spent was for the cost of the parts only. The labor was covered by the coupon. We had a grinding/squeaking noise in our clothes dryer. We've lived with it for months and finally got around to calling for a repair. I phoned Ben on Friday and he visited us on Saturday. He quickly identified the source of the problem, provided us with several options for repairs, and swiftly completed the repairs, which involved replacing four moving parts. He readily responded to the various questions we threw at him about our appliance. We're pleased to have found Ben via the Angies coupon deal. We discussed his possibly doing additional work for us.

Description of Work: Replaced a broken bolt on the bracket holding the drum.

Description of Work: Washer was making loud noise when spinning. The drum was replaced. The American Residental appliance repair man was prompt to diagnose and order the part without having to wait for the check. I later paid for the part. Great service.

Description of Work: He offered a special on Angie's List to fix any appliance for $120. Our dryer was not working properly and I could not find the issue so I thought this was a good deal. I called and he came over within a few days and examined the dryer from front to back. He explained everything to my wife the entire time he was here. He didn't have to do much, just re-connect a wire, but he really wanted to make sure we were satisfied with his service and told us he would come back if the dryer was still not fixed. We did not have to call him back but I assume he would have come back without charging. We would recomend him.

Description of Work: The "Big Deal" was "$129 for any appliance repair." One burner on my gas range wasn't lighting properly. The repairman showed up about 30 mins. after the time we had scheduled, lookee at the stove and said it need a new burner. He checked on the price and availability of the burner and found out that they are no longer available. Told me if I found one, he'd come back and install it at no additional charge. I got no repair and am out $129. That doesn't strike me as any sort of "deal" much less a "big ." Service performed was looking at the burner and making a phone call. With respect to the "provider's response" below, I note that the "deal" was $129 for any "repair." I do not argue that a repair could have been performed given the age of the stove but the fact is that no repair was done and I'm still our $129. If I'd had the presence of mind at the time, I would not have surrendered the coupon and taken up the matter of a refund with Angie's List. If this "service" is to be offered at some later date, it should indicate that the customer will be charged that amount even if it is determined upon inspection that an appliance cannot be fixed. It took about 20 minutes to reach the conclusion that the parts weren't available, which amounts to about $388/hour for the "service." (Not to mention the time I took off work.) Reminds me of the old joke about the guy who, when presented a huge bill by his plumber, says to the plumber, "Doctors don't even make this kind of money." Plumber says, "I know, I used to be one."

Description of Work: my refrigerator temp was dropping. I called Ben on Angie's list to fix it for me. He came in within his promised time went to work and replaced the the broken defroster to get my refrigerator running again. I will use him again.
