It was great. They were fast and kept to the estimate. They were neat and there were no problems with cleanup. I was very satisfied. I was able to get what I wanted. They were very professional and easy to talk to. They were very efficient.

He was very courteous and professional but when it came time to give the estimate it was very high compared to the other carpet shops I got estimates from. He also refused to even tell me how many square yards of carpet I was buying from him, let alone anything else. Definitely not someone who I would want to give $10,000 to.

I contacted the company to set up an appointment for an estimate to replace hardwood flooring in a small area of my townhouse. I received a very quick email to set up an appointment, which was great. My contact, Winston, came right on time, was very professional and said he'd email me a quote later in the week. I did not hear from him in over a week, so I emailed him to inquire about the status of the estimate. He said he'd emailed it several days prior and to check my Spam folder. I did not have anything from him in there so I asked him to re-send. What he sent me was someone else's quote. I informed him of this and have not heard from him since. It's now been almost a month since he came out to my home. UPDATE--After posting this review, Winston contacted me immediately and apologized for the miscommunication (he had an incorrect email address) and sent me the quote. I appreciate this very much and have updated my review accordingly. Thanks!

I spoke to Alan on the phone twice to schedule and he was very polite and courteous.  Winston came out to do the estimate.  He did a thorough job but was condescending when I spoke with him about having another company come out through my insurance.  He didn't say anything bad about them but made it clear he thought either what I was saying, the other company, or my insurance process was ridiculous.  I didn't ask for further explanation.  I never got my estimate in 4 days and when I told him we were going with the other company (largely based on the estimate experience), he didn't show any graciousness to make me ever want to consider business with them again.  Just did not leave me with a good feeling going with this company.

We had a cat used the carpet instead of the littler box.  They sanitized the basement, they were quick, efficient, professional and thorough.   They were shockingly inexpensive.  They moved a pool table and furniture.   We have not yet picked out the new carpet but we will be doing to them, we like their service.  It was wonderful.

Sterling Carpet was helpful and professional from start to finish -- I was very pleased with my choice to use them and would use them again.

After seeing reviews on Angie's list, I visited Sterling Carpet where I was shown various brands and price ranges of carpet -- they ordered samples for me to take home and more samples when I wanted to look at a wider range of colors -- they were very flexible and wanted to make sure I was happy with my order - including changing the order when I phoned and switched the carpet in two bedrooms.

The visit to the house for the estimate was scheduled around my availability and the installers were great -- the house had just been repainted and they were very careful.

With great trepidation we went looking for someone to install carpet in all the upstairs rooms and landing of our house. Our last carpet installation job--using a different company and in a different house--was a disaster, so we were very nervous about going through this again. We went to Sterling Carpet because a friend had told us that they are highly rated on various sites. We walked in and were greeted by Jerry, who impressed us both tremendously during the 2+ hours that we talked with him and looked at carpets. He patiently answered all our questions and addressed all our concerns without any “attitude”, which is what we usually get when we present information we’ve read online. He was not in the least bit pushy, irritating, or impatient. He simply listened and responded with a tremendous wealth of knowledge, showing us a range of products that addressed our needs. We both had the impression that he has been in the carpet business for a long time, is up-to-date on the latest products, and is very good at conveying that information to customers. In short, we both liked him very much and felt confident that we were in good hands. Once we selected a carpet, everything proceeded smoothly. All appointments were kept, and everyone showed up on time. Jerry himself came out to measure and was meticulous in that endeavor. We discussed at length how the carpet would be laid out and where each seam would go. He then drew a diagram of the layout of the house and carpet and even returned to the house the next day to double check a particularly odd dimension in one of the rooms. He explained that his detailed instructions would be provided to the installation crew, and they would follow those instructions to the letter. Although the installation crews are subcontractors, Jerry explained that they are all talented crews who work mostly for Sterling Carpet. In fact, the installation crew was exceptional, and, months later, we still have not discovered a single flaw in the installation. Our house is full of strange angles and corners and weird sized spaces. Many seams were required due to the odd layout, and there was one rather noticeable and tricky place on the landing that concerned us. All such issues were handled perfectly, and the carpet looks terrific with no visible seams. Every time we walk up the stairs to the landing, we are amazed at what a great job they did of handling the transition from landing to stairs, which included working around a wrought iron stair railing and wrapping the carpet around a bullnose that did not allow much room for securing the carpet. Simply a great install, and, overall, a great experience. We would definitely go back to Sterling Carpet. In fact, we’re hoping to have them refinish our 1970s hardwood floor in the near future.

They did a good job putting the carpet in. It was reasonably priced carpet. They had good recommendations. I would use them again.

I worked with Jim (Jimmy as he's known to Sterling Carpet Shops) to select the best alternative to hardwood and ceramic tile flooring for my new house, as well as pet-friendly carpet.  I learned so much about all the new types of flooring available and Jim's help throughout the process was invaluable.  We ended up picking Karndean luxury vinyl plank for my first level, Nafco Permastone for one room, and Mohawk's Smart Strand carpet everywhere else.  Once all the flooring was picked and ordered, Allan's handling and follow-through of the installation was superb.  I wish all companies and/or contractors performed as well as Sterling Carpet Shops did, and I do know that when I decide to re-do any of the ceramic time in my house, they are the first place I will go.

The company agreed to some price negotiation which was greatly appreciated to keep within our budget. Sterling was good about contacting us with updates on receiving the ordered carpeting and setting an installation date. They were prompt in arriving and extremely professional in all aspects of the rug removal and new carpet installation process. The two workers were clearly well-skilled and experienced. They did an excellent cleanup of unwanted materials, cleaned up any residues from installation which included vacuuming of the carpet and adjacent areas. The installation process took less than 3 hours for the two rooms and several closets. They also volunteered to move furniture back into the room that we had moved out, including a heavy piano and also moved any furniture items we had not moved in one of the rooms. Excellent work overall.

This is the second installation I've had performed by Sterling Carpet. These folks are great from beginning to end. The sales staff are knowledgeable and informative. Gerry is a credit to his industry. Our first job was a staircase carpet install last year which was flawless. We were able to get the style dyed in the color we wanted. It was fast and smooth. The most current job was a Amtico Spacia flooring install for our kitchen. Installer (Bill) was fast, friendly, and went the extra mile to help me get my appliances back in order. I found one small spot where the adhesive wasn't working correctly, and he came back this morning and fixed it. Can't say enough good things about this business. It might be a little cheaper to go somewhere else, but for the outstanding service, and the time and hassle saved, going with Sterling Carpet was worth every penny. We would definitely use them again.

They were awesome. They saved us a lot of money on this project. There customer service guys were extremely helpful.

My experience was good. They did a really nice job and I would say their response was a little slow but I think they are very professional and fast when they got here. They did a good job and cleaned up after themselves. They moved things around to accommodated for furniture.

The sales staff is very helpful in explaining the different types of carpet. They are good at listening to your needs and then steering you in the right direction. They help recommend something within your budget that is a quality product. I stopped by at least 3 or 4 times asking questions and they never pressured me to make a decision or buy anything. For the installation, they arrived on time and respected my newly painted walls. Seams were well hidden. They went above and beyond by moving furniture to different rooms as requested. When they did the binding for my runner on the stairs they made me a few small rugs for my doorways with the remnants (at no additional cost). Due to a problem caused by the contractor installing my hardwood stairs, they could not install my runner the same day as the rest of my carpet. They were proactive in contacting me to re-schedule and did not charge me even though they had to make a second trip to my house. They are not the cheapest company, but I would consider them a "best value". I would highly recommend this company.

It went well. They know their hardwood there, and we could take home several options to match it to our existing floor.

We went to 4 stores to look at the hardwood samples and get verbal estimates. Then the salesmen came to measure and gave firm estimates. We gave the job to this Sterling Carpet because the salesmen were very knowledgeable and professional. They seem honest and gave estimates that did not change. Other companies we spoke with gave the initial verbal estimates low then when they came to measure, the estimates went up. Overall, the estimates from all companies were comparable so we went with Sterling Carpet for their honesty and professionalism.

Everything was great from in-store, to measurements to installation. They were able to handle a tricky installation on the stairs due to another company's tile installation work that wasn't quite up to standard.

If I was going to buy carpet again I would return to them. If they had the right color, material, etc., I would buy it from them. I would recommend them to others, too.

We scheduled installation for a Thursday for most of the entire house; the installers came on time and finished on time and did a great job!

The installers came when they were schedule to come. They did a great job of installing the wood and carpet. They did not install wood in a storage area that was to be installed, but they will be returning to complete the work.

Sterling Carpet will be our carpet provider from here on. We were having bedroom and bathroom renovations, and Sterling Carpet was the perfect choice to go for carpeting. They were punctual and true to their estimate. Their staff is very experienced and fast. They were in and out in less than 2 hours, and were very pleasant. They were working in a freshly painted room and didn't leave a mark. We are very pleased with the quality of their product and work, and highly recommend Sterling Carpet.

They have the best products and the best options as far as installation go. They also have the best prices. They really know a lot about their products and they will give you a lot more details about carpet samples and flooring samples than most people. We had a transition from tile to carpet. They could do a curve transition rather than the straight cut which nobody else that we went to said that they could do.

Great. Winston was very helpful. He came to our house to measure exactly at the time we set up. I later went to his store and he gave me suggestions about what would work. I took samples home and made my selection. The estimate was very reasonable. The work was completed in about 4 hours for both bathrooms. Everything was done perfectly and we love our new floor.
