After being given a reference from a neighbor, the initial interview with this "mother-daughter" run team appeared to go well and they arrived on-time. I explained to the owner what I needed to be accomplished in the house for my 73 year old disabled mother, which was agreed upon, and we negotiated a price for services. We ended the interview and agreed upon a bi-weekly cleaning schedule that started in late October of 2012. The initial cleaning job was done well. However, with each passing cleaning visit the quality of the cleaning services started to noticeably degrade to the point where it was down right evident that there was frequent neglect. Wood floors were noticeably left only partially cleaned, trash cans went neglected, and bedding went either ignored or the bed barely made. It appeared that this was all about a rush cleaning job accomplishing bare minimum and sometimes less than that. Also, over time, their arrival time became erratic and their demeanor anything but professional. They were sure to collect their check each time though. The last service call was probably the most apparent in the neglect of services and it was brought to their attention. They were given the chance to rectify the problem. The owner failed to give a professional courtesy apology or even offer any kind of consolation offer. We then decided that it was best to discontinue their services. Upon cancellation, there was, again, no apology or professionalism exuded and we were met with a cold, "ok" when we cancelled services and they subsequently hung up the phone on us. Had I been able to stop payment on the last check, I would have. These business owners are a classless act. I should have known that any business that combines house cleaning with yard services should have been a tip off to what I was getting. I guess these two thought that they could do the bare minimum and just collect a check several times a month. I would not recommend these two on my worst enemy who obviously have no ethical dilemma in taking advantage of a disabled older woman.
