After paying $150.00 for A/C check on our dual system and getting a clean bill of health on both, house still wasn't heating properly. It turned out that when Armstrong had installed our heat pump/AC last May, the installers neglected to connect auxiliary heat properly. No one is thinking about needing extra heat in May. When January's extreme cold hit, first floor thermostat dropped to 55 degrees. Miserable! Called the cell number on my tune up bill and got through to Daniel Armstrong on a Saturday. He came out THAT DAY and fixed the problem. I am a very happy customer!

There were no troubles with scheduling. They completed a general diagnostic and explained where my system stood at the time. The job took about an hour. There were no additional costs or repairs. Everything turned out great!

It was a great experience. The technician explained what he was doing and he wore boot covers as there was new carpeting in the townhouse. He also checked the AC unit.

My heat went off the afternoon before severe cold was forecast. I found them on Angie's list and the lady who took my call said they were busy for the next three days. She then said, but its going to be really cold tonight and tomorrow, let me see what I can do. She called me back in 5 minutes and said that a tech was on the way. When he arrived it took him 20 minutes to diagnose the problem, and remove the defective igniter. He did not have a replacement on the truck so he left to get one. He returned in thirty minutes and had me up a running in another twenty minutes. That night it went down to 9 degrees. I will always be grateful to Armstrong and plan to have them do an annual maintainance contract.

Another company had looked at our furnace system and estimated we needed some service and replacement of parts to prevent it from breaking down. When we saw the Big Deal on Angie's list for a new furnace and installation for about 1/3 more in price than the repairs offered by the first company, we decided to buy the deal. With Angie's List 30-day refund policy, we felt secure in getting our money back if this service was not exactly what we needed. After speaking with Daniel at Armstrong Mechanical, we determined that we probably don't need a completely new furnace. Armstrong will just come out at assess the condition and give us their opinion on what should be done, if anything. We appreciated his honesty and willingness to help us out.

We have used Armstrong Mechanical in the past, so when our "antique" boiler started to fail we immediately thought of Daniel Armstrong and his company. After obtaining several quotes from other companies, we chose Armstrong to do the job on the basis of price and past experience with them. It took them approximately 3 days to do the job and they were very careful about cleaning up and keeping us informed of their progress. The owner (Daniel) worked hard and put in long hours so the new boiler would be installed and ready for the first cold weather of the season. He and his assistant worked nearly 12 straight hours till 9 p.m. on a Friday night to finish the job. We were very pleased with the end result and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

The gentleman who came out was very friendly and professional, and I felt did a good job checking over everything. He was knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions. The service went very well. They did exactly what the deal stated. One technician came out and completed the job in about 30-40 minutes. He wrote down that everything was running well. There was a check list on the form but I did not see any check marks by the items. He was very courteous and polite. It was very easy to schedule the deal and he showed up on time.

Our older A/C condenser quit working. We chose this company from Angie's list. Due to the timing (Labor Day Weekend) of the issue we had to wait a few more hours as they were very busy. The Technician was able to find the problem quickly and even though he did not have the correct part, he was able to get us up and running temporarily and the next day he came back and installed the correct part. The price was reasonable , the technician was honest, experienced and friendly. We would definitely use this company again.

The technician arrived on a timely basis and began the inspection on 4/18/14. This usually takes about an hour but this tech was completed in about 45 min. which was a little surprising. No deficiencies were noted despite the system being over 15 years old. Fast forward to Labor Day weekend and we notice the second story ceiling leaking. The secondary condensate drain pan (galvanized steel) was found leaking and we shut down the system to investigate. The primary condensate line must have clogged and the 25" x 25" secondary condensate drain system was called to function. The pan was removed and inspected and had a completely rusted through 12" long gash about 3" wide in one spot on the bottom of the pan. We removed the pan, took a photo and reinstalled a temporary drain pan and suctioned out the primary drain line. I called and spoke to Mr. Armstrong after the weekend. I advised Mr. Armstrong of the services and date and that the Condensate inspection checklist read "inspect & clean drain pans" and was apparently ok. Realizing that conditions can deteriorate over time, I asked if such a large and obvious pan deterioration should have been found and noted during the inspection. This pan did not suddenly go bad in 3 and half months of intermittent use as there would have been very noticeable deterioration in April. He said that it is common for metal pans to show some rust and the technician must have missed the advanced deterioration you could have easily pushed your finger through. Other than getting an unsatisfactory explanation and some empathy, no other solution was offered. I said I would post a candid and fair review and it would not be favorable. He basically said "you have to do what you have to do". In my opinion, the inspection cut corners, missed an important checklist item, was marked incorrectly as ok, and contributed to a water leak and ceiling damage. Looks like a training / QC issue but apparently the contractor has enough positive reviews to offset training and QC deficiencies. It was not a pleasant customer experience for us.

He didn't find any problems. However he seemed to be very brief, taking only a few minutes to examine a 10-yr. old system. So I would hope that he did everything he was supposed to do.
