Shane came out the day before our Blizzard and did a complete checkup of my heat pump and heater system. He was professional, courteous, and seemed to know the equipment. He gave me some great information and advice on my heat pump system. I hope to use him again in the future.

Daniel was very thorough and reported all findings back to me in a way that I could understand what was going on. He also did some addition exploratory work (that I paid extra for) to check out a second system while he was there. I would use this company again and plan to do so in the near future.

This was our first experience with Armstrong Mechanical Services. Everyone from office staff to technician was professional and pleasant. We especially appreciated our technician Shane taking time to explain things about our systems (we recently purchased home) and he even took time to solve a problem with bad smells blowing through our vents. I never felt like he was in a hurry to get to the next job (a pet peeve of mine). Job well done. Highly recommend.

I originally contacted Armstrong Mechanical on 9/3/2015 because the downstairs heat pump was not cooling the downstairs. They sent Chris the next day, Friday, to check it out. Our 16 year old heat pump had finally bit the dirt and we needed a new one. The following Tuesday, I called them to set up a time for them to install the new one. They were able to install it Thursday, two days later. Tom & Ricky were the installers. They were on time, very professional and very polite. They got right to work and I was kept informed of their progress. Everything was explained to me and I just loved them. After having recent contact with other various repair industries, I had come to the firm conclusion that "Customer Service and Satisfaction" no longer existed. They totally renewed my faith. I just wish they could be my repair company for everything.

There were complications with the hook up of the equipment but it was resolved within a week of begining the job.

I was very pleased with the service we received from Armstrong Mechanical Services. When our air conditioner finally died, they came out quickly to assess the problem. It became clear that we needed a new system as ours was old enough to run for president! They gave me an estimate that, frankly, was out of our budget. When I explained this, they worked with us to find a system that would suit our needs AND our pocket book. They scheduled the service quickly and completed the entire replacement in one day. The new system is great and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend Armstrong Mechanical!

He tested all the systems. Chris replaced the defective part in less than 15 minutes. My heat pump has been working perfectly ever since he serviced it. He didn't try to convince me to pay for unnecessary service, which I appreciated and counted that as high work ethics.

When my heat pump failed at the end of May, American Home Shield sent another local contractor to diagnose the problem. The technician stated that my inside unit had a leak in the coil and that it needed to be replaced. American Home Shield would not replace the entire system, and my out of pocket cost for refrigerant and electrical upgrades was going to be $1100. The technician quoted me $3400 for a new 14 seer Bryant system. That price took into account the money that AHS would be paying for the inside air handler. My initial inclination was to accept their offer, but something made me hesitate. I decided to do some research before committing to the deal. I made several calls to the company office to try to get the model number of the unit as well as a price on a higher efficiency unit. When I finally was able to speak to someone, I asked that the information be e-mailed to me. The person that I spoke to promised to contact the technician and get back to me with the information. Three phone calls and two weeks later, I still did not have the information. It was at that time that I decided to invest in an Angie's List membership. I picked two of the highest rated companies on the list, and got estimates from both. When I Contacted Armstrong Mechanical, they were able to come out within two days to give an estimate. The technician that came out to give the estimate was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering my questions. After accepting Armstrong Mechanical's offer, I made an appointment for them to come approximately a week later. The install team showed up on time, and were very polite and professional, even though it was a difficult demo and install. There was a question about of a piece of equipment that I thought would be included in the install that they did not know about. After I contacted the owner Daniel Armstrong, he bent over backwards to accommodate my request. The job was completed in a day, and I could not be happier with the service. Daniel Armstrong actually called me himself about a week later to make sure that I was satisfied with the job that his men had done! Thanks Angie's List and thanks especially to Armstrong Mechanical. They were very good. I didn't deal with him directly but he showed up on time. He did what he was saying and it was on.

I have to keep this long story short. I am a Realtor in Richmond, and had a listing that went under contract. The buyer had a home inspection, and the blower on the HVAC system was found to continuously run when the thermostat was set to "off." My Seller agreed to fix it. So I went to Angie's List to locate someone that seemed to have lots of positive reviews and came across Armstrong. Armstrong was able to fix the problem, and their tech, Chris, was one of those guys you would put on your contractor list and never use anyone else. He was quietly confident, competent, and skilled. He was able to pinpoint the issue, order the parts, put them in and fix the issue. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone needing HVAC services done.

Owner came at the agreed time, brought all written information needed and within a few hours after leaving had the total cost of the job. He gave us adequate time to review the information and compare prices before calling back to answer questions we might have. Installers were clean, professional, explained the operation of the unit and cleaned up before leaving.

Armstrong Mechanical did a very complete and thorough job, answered all my questions, and took care of all my needs. When I asked about a lack of filter (my old system had a filter on the blower, not on the intakes), they came back and put filter-ready grates on my intake vents at no additional cost. They had a much better price than anyone else I got quotes from, and offered a better system than at least 2 of the other guys were going to give me. Overall, I was very happy. My only complaint was that the initial install team wasn't able to connect the AquaTherm system, so they had to come out a second time, even though they knew I had such a system before the first team came out. That said, they came out on a Saturday for the second trip, so I would not have to miss another day of work. So even that ended up being a positive experience.

These folks are fabulous! They were punctual, polite, neat, efficient, reasonably priced, knowledgeable, superlative in every way. I could not have ask for a better experience!!

I paid $82.50. The first time I went to them was to diagnose our furnace and then we had to find the parts somewhere because the company that usually supplied the part no longer existed. They came out the second service and installed it. If we hadn't done our research their opinion would have made us replace the furnace for $2800.

They did a good job. They were friendly and arrived on time.

The contractor is very clear and fair and honest. We would give him our unqualified recommendation. We fully intend to hire them for additional projects as we steadily improve our house.

Best quote that I received. Very punctual and reliable. Had a problem with a faulty thermostat afterward and they quickly responded. Very happy!
