It was time for a new one. Cost was reasonable.

I purchased a "special" air conditioning tuneup and inspection from Armstrong, however I had to repair the unit prior to the service and Armstrong agreed to let me use the tuneup and inspection for my heating system. Armstrong completed the inspection the day before Thanksgiving. We woke up on Thanksgiving morning with no heat. I call Armstrong and he came out before noon and fixed the problem with no charge. Cannot ask for more professionalism from a company then he exhibited on that day. Great company will use him again in the future.

It was an extraordinary service. They were very timely and responsive. They were very courteous and professional. They made sure exactly what work will be performed. They explained in detail what they were going to do before they did the work. They cleaned up after their work and to me it was a professional work.

The service technician performed all of the requested work items (furnace clean, tune-up, and inspection). He was friendly and professional. We had a little snafu with the service time changing at the last minute, but the company called to let me know what happened and we were able to reschedule on short notice. I purchased an Angie's List deal for this work and feel I got more than what I paid for. Very happy with this company and this deal. We would use this company again.

I got quotes from 6 different vendors in central VA and by far Armstrong mechanical was the nicest, most professional one and made this stressful process a breeze. | |They had an outstanding deal on a full replacement for Angie's list members. I wanted that deal and he explained why it was too much for my house and why the other vendors didn't really inspect anything before giving me a quote. He sold me on a lower / cheaper option that has worked Amazingly well for over a year and I could not be happier

I was told the relay also wasn't getting a signal, and that I would need to replace the thermostat as well. After they quoted the thermostat at an additional $270 (labor included), I found the same thermostat on Amazon for under $50. Since it was advertised as a Do-It-Yourself installation, I just decided I would buy a new one and install it myself. However, before I left to go buy a new one, I noticed warm air coming from the vents, so I waited and it eventually heated the house all the way up without needing to replace the thermostat. I'm still very happy with the service, as they were able to get out to my house, diagnose the problem and fix it for a good price.

Very well. He was delayed by other jobs, but the office was very good at letting us know. He worked efficiently and also replaced a filter heat pump that was not in the "Big Deal" plan.

I used them before on my house,now I had them install a new heat-pump on my rental property.They did a great job again. Came on time,worked fast,and showed me everything. They had to do extra work to make the duck work fit. Did not charge me any extra. Very good job.

It was pretty good. The guy came couldn't answer any of my questions but he did his job. I like the fact that he was on time and did the job quickly. The big deal was offered to somebody else and that turned out to be a nightmare. It took a lot longer ultimately that wanted it to take. I think once I signed up for them everything worked. He was not very knowledgeable.

They were fantastic! I was unable to be home during the first trip, but spoke with the tech on the phone when he arrived. He did the check and everything came out OK. The very next day, I experienced an issue with the furnace and contacted them. They came out, explained the situation (impossible to tell the cause unless it happened again...otherwise it was just speculating), told me what to do the next time it happened (look at a flashing light for a fault code), and hooked up a thermostat wire for me. They did not charge another trip fee. Each tech was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and honest (rather than listing all the problems with my old unit, they explained that it does have a good bit of life left but what might be the next thing to go). I'd definitely trust them for work in the future.

They replaced the component without charge and all was very good.

.The Central unit was fine but the furnace had started leaking. As it turned out it was leaking in not one but two places. Both parts were worn out and had to be replaced. So the fellow that was working on my furnace had to come back the following week, drain the furnace and replace them. He was very professional and knowledgeable, answered every question I asked. I definitely intend to use them in the future. Their prices for yearly maintenance were alot better than what I had been paying my previous heating/oil company. Thanks guys!

The tune up went really well.

We had them service our heating and a/c since we moved here. We've been satisfied with them.

Prompt, professional, quick, informative. The company called me to let me know they were running late at another job. I really appreciated that. We were able to reschedule the appointment so as not to keep me waiting.

The repairman was prompt and courteous. He advised when I should change filters and reassured me that my systems were in good shape.

Since we had a double unit system, we ended up having to pay for the second unit, but at the same price of $49. We were quite satisfied withthe service. We will use Armstrong Mechanical again.

It turned out just fine. It was easy to schedule an appointment with them. It did not take the man who came out long to do the job and he did a pretty thorough job. He was also very pleasant.

I got this company from Angie's List and they came out on time. They did a good job of coming promptly and provide very good service. I don' have negative to tell them. I didn't pursue on using their service.

Daniel Armstrong was very responsive to my request for a quote. Given the magnitude of this investment, I solicited three bids, all from A rated Angie's List HVAC service providers. The Armstrong quote was the most cost effective for the quality of the unit we purchased, and we used an Angie's List coupon for a discount on the service. Daniel sent his bid by email and promptly answered questions that we had. We agreed upon a date of installation, and his crew arrived at the date/time they were expected. We had some specific requests (re-routing condensate lines, re-positioning the outdoor compressors, and installing programmable thermostats). There was a two man crew, and although the installation took 2.5 days instead of 2 days, they stayed focused and worked hard. They came back immediately to reconnect a duct that had been dislodged in the attic and to replace the non-programmable thermostats with programmable thermostats that I purchased. We installed the units at the end of the AC season and haven't had a chance to use them, but the testing gave us comfort that we'll have much lower energy bills next summer. The crew were respectful of my property, wore booties while inside the house, and laid protective cardboard across the rug areas that they had to cross. The work is neat (taping is even, condensate lines aligned with the house, units level, etc.). We highly recommend this company based on our experience.

Daniel Armstrong was prompt with quote and work. Their quote was 2/3rds the price of the nearest competition. They worked around our summer travel schedules and though the job took longer than they quoted, they stuck to their initial quote. After the installation he came to give me a walk through and answer any questions that I had about future service. The servicemen were young but courteous and my wife was comfortable allowing them to work without me being home. The job was to install a complete system in a 1947 brick home without any existing heating or cooling. The solution was creative. I would hire them again.

It was very nice. They were great. The price was very amazing.

They were incredible. In the morning, when the heat came on, after about an hour there was a strong smell of something burning, and it got so bad it set off our smoke detector. I called and spoke to Daniel, who was extremely polite and professional. When he heard what was going on, and that we had to turn off the heat, he said someone would be to come by later in the afternoon. At 2:00 Shawn arrived, and initially I didn't hear the doorbell. Daniel called and let me know Shawn was outside, which I really appreciated. Shawn was great - very polite, very knowledgeable, very professional. I explained what had happened, and that we had been seeing some mice, so I was hoping that wasn't it. He had no problem getting the furnace open, and explained everything he was doing to me so I could see and understand what was going on. Sure enough, there was a dead mouse in the heating coils, so Shawn took it outside and removed the mouse. He came and put everything back together, and my heat was up and running. I was only charged for the service call. I was 100% satisfied, would absolutely call them again, and would highly recommend them to anyone. Customer service is obviously a priority and a focus for them, and in a time where that too often doesn't seem to be the case, I greatly appreciated it. I also want to say what a great thing it was to have Angie's List, because the great reviews out here were what made me decide to call Armstrong. So a great success on all counts!

They were very responsive to my purchase. They called right away and set up an appointment for me. The service took three minutes. They looked at it and said it was okay, then left.

Mr.Armstrong contacted me immediately and gave me an appointment. On the 2 times they came out, he made an appointment and called me when they were on their way. The technician checked the system and ordered a part. Although we just bought the house and wouldn't have known the difference, he figured out the part was under warranty and we were only charged for the labor which was very reasonable.
