Description of Work: I CALLED TYLER'S TV AFTER OUR FLAT SCREEN TV LOST ITS PICTURE...WE HAD SOUND BUT NO PICTURE. I SPOKE WITH CARLTON, AND WE SET UP AN APPOINTMENT THE NEXT DAY. BASICALLY, I NEEDED HIM TO TELL ME THE COST OF REPAIR BEFORE FIXING IT, OR IF IT WAS EVEN WORTH REPAIRING. OUR TV IS 6 YEARS OLD. CARLTON CAME WHEN SCHEDULED AND DID A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE TV....IT WAS WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS WRONG FROM MY DESCRIPTION ON THE PHONE, AND HE HAD THE PARTS WITH HIM. SO, FOR ABOUT 175.00, HE REPAIRED THE T.V., RESET THE REMOTE FOR ME, HUNG IT BACK ON THE WALL AND IT WORKS AND LOOKS GREAT. I AM SO RELIEVED WE DON'T NEED TO SPEND MONEY ON A NEW T.V......IT SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO FOR YEARS TO COME...AND EVEN IF IT GOES ON THE BLINK IN A FEW YEARS, IT WAS WELL WORTH THE MONEY FOR THE REPAIR. I REALLY LIKED CARLTON'S FRIENDLY PERSONALITY, AND THAT HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING, INCLUDING THE COST, BEFORE WORK WAS PERFORMED. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TYLER'S T.V.

They came when they said and returned with a new part for my LCD TV and it's worked well since then. They were courteous and helped get the TV off and back on the wall
Description of Work: My LCT TV made a popping sound and then would not work at all. They can the day after I called, diagnosed the problem and then ordered the part. Within 4 days the part was installed and the TV worked! Price was extremely reasonable.

I would give them a B for responsiveness because it was difficult reaching them on the phone; I suspect it is a one man shop. Once I got hold of them they got here when they said they would and all other grades will be A's. I will use them again in the future.

I called Tyler's on Friday and spoke to Carlton about the problem I was having with my TV and he said he could come out the next morning. He gave me a two hour window and showed up on time. Took care of the problem and was courteous and professional. It turned out to be something minor and I just had to pay a trip charge which I thought was fair. I would definitely recommend Tyler's!

I have a Samsung 52" LCD that began the endless click-on/click-off cycle and would not power on completely. It had happened before but overcame it on its own after 45-60 minutes. This time it didn't recover - it started doing it and continued for more than three days. Finally I called Samsung service this morning and they said it is a covered repair even though the TV is from 2008 and is beyond warranty. The only problem was that the soonest they could get their service tech out to look at the set was in two weeks! As soon as Tyler's TV opened I called and they said to contact Samsung again and have them switch the Service Ticket to Tyler's TV Service. Then he gave me his Samsung authorized service number to give to Samsung for verification. He said if Samsung could swith the ticket, he could come out and fix the set today. The people on the phone at Samsung weren't sure if they could get the ticket reassigned, but it went through OK. If it hadn't I would have requested a supervisor to help make it happen. Tyler's technician showed up during the 3-6pm time as planned and fixed the set in less than an hour. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable. Before leaving we discussed another problem the TV has had from time to time. The technician took down the information and said he will forward it to Samsung after the weekend to get an estimate for the repairs. Overall Tyler's TV was prompt, very knowledgeable and professional, and I would contact them for help again any time I have a TV repair requirement.
Description of Work: The TV had to have the back panel removed to get to the power supply. This is a known situation where the capacitors in the power supply go bad from TV's made during 2007-2008. The technician removed the faulty capacitors and soldered in replacements. He re-connected the internal boards and closed up the back panel and remounted the TV on the wall bracket. The set powered on instantly and the repair was successful.

I called them after the service center that Samsung recommended gave me a very high estimate (~$400) to replace it. They were very polite and gave me a lower estimate over the phone. The only downside is that they didn't follow up after my first 2 calls, so I had to call a 3rd time to schedule the service and have the part ordered. Once scheduled, they came within the window they provided and performed an excellent job, taking care of the floors, carpet, furniture and of course, the TV.
Description of Work: The color wheel of my Samsung DLP TV was making a humming noise and they replaced it in less than 30 minutes.

Tyler's TV came to my home to service my TV, which was making a very loud beeping noise. The TV was fixed in no time as they knew exactly what to do and had the appropriate part. I love any service that comes to my home, as lugging a TV to a shop would have been difficult. I was pleased with everything about this experience (my first time using this company) except I gave them a grade of "fair" for responsiveness. This was based solely on having to call several times to get them to make an appointment time. He explained his family member had a health issue that week, so that likely explained the delay. Would suggest in the future to be diligent about returning calls so as not to lose any customers!
Description of Work: Tyler's TV replaced a part on my TV in my home. Arrived on time for the appointment and departed within the hour.

I was delighted to find an honest (he could have charged travel time and labor), professional, and competent TV repair man. Even if I have to pay for a future repair, I would call upon Tyler's TV again.
Description of Work: I contacted Tyler's TV on March 18, 2011 for a second repair cost estimate after Samsung Customer Service had referred me to a TV an authorized TV repair contractor that quoted a very high price (over $450) to replace the mirror chip in my 5-year old 61-inch DLP TV. Carlton of Tyler's TV said that he would check to see if he might be able to repair the TV at no charge since many of the Samsung DLP TVs had the same malfunction (white dots increasingly replacing the picture pixels). He called back and said he had contacted Samsung's Warranty service and they were sending him a replacement mirror chip. He called back the following Monday and agreed to come to my home to make the repair the following day. He arrived, replacement part in hand with a helper, and proceeded to remove the back of the set, install the part, check to see that the picture was now normal, and reassemble the set. He left saying that there would be no charge to me for the part or the labor to make the repair.

We were having increasingly more trouble getting our TV set to turn on. After we'd hit the power button it would try to do so, making clicking sounds as it tried to connect, for almost 10 minutes! (When the problem had started it was about 90 seconds.) We'd checked into it before and discovered Samsung was denying any responsibility for the problem and so, of course, refusing to pay. We saw online that it was a very expensive procedure because of the labor, etc. (The back had to be removed, etc.) When I called Tyler he told me that Samsung, indeed, was now taking responsibility; he would check our model number on the list and call back to confirm that. He did so in very little time, and we scheduled the appointment for 2 days later. The repair actually took less time than we'd expected and the set has worked perfectly ever since.
Description of Work: Had to replace a part (capacitor) in our lge-screen Samsung HD TV that, as it turned out, was a problem built in to these sets. It turned out that Samsung was paying for it, which is why we didn't have to pay.

Tyler, completed the repair in a timely and effecicient manner. He is very professional and courteous. Hopefully we won't need to call him again, but if we require another TV repair I would call him again and recommend him to friends.

Showed up a bout 1 hr late for appointment. Technicians did a pretty good and timely job of finding the problem. Lack of follow-up is why I graded their performance so low. I had to call to find out the status of what was going on with the follow-up part and cost check.
Description of Work: Narrowed problem (and potential cause - leak in ceiling dripped on TV) to a defective board and needed to price check replacement to determine cost.

Overall we were very satisfied with Tyler's, although they were unable to repair the TV within our budget. The 2 year old LCD TV stopped working and was diagnosed as needing a new circuit board. The tech brought the TV to their shop for more diagnosis and to search for a replacement board that would keep the overall repair under $300. After a week of searching they determined the cost of repair would exceed $300 and we asked for the TV to be returned. Tyler's was professional and honest throughout the process. The only complaint is that the initial in-home call was a couple of hours past the window provided. We also had to call them for updates on the part search as they appear to have minimal office staff. But most importantly Tyler's was professional and trustworthy. We would recommend them and use their services again in the future. (Approx. cost $75.00.)
Description of Work: Tyler provided an estimate to repair a 32" LCD TV, first in-home and then at their shop when more time was required to quote parts.

Called on a Friday to get service on Monday. There was some confusion about the appointment time, but that was cleared up later with a phone call. Technician arrived (at the time that was on his schedule) and was very professional. He listened as I described the problem. He opened up the back of the TV, pulled out the component board, tested a couple of fuses and looked for loose connections. He told me that the pico fuses were blown, but in his experience that is usually caused by a loose connection. So, he re-soldered a couple of connections and replaced the fuses. He really did know what he was doing. The only problem was that he was interrupted multiple times by phone calls (I guess that means that business is good for them). He got everything put together then opened up the front of the TV and cleaned the lenses. All in all I was quite satisfied. Price of parts was $4.00, labor was $200. I guess that seems steep for 30 minutes of work, but when you figure you're paying for the expertise, you're not hauling a huge TV to some storefront and you don't have to shell out another two grand for a new TV, it puts it into perspective. Oh, and they gave me a 90 day guarantee. I will call them again if I need any TV repair.
