Initially my experience with Tyler's TV was pretty decent. Samsung assigned them to fix my malfunctioning television. When they arrived to do the work, the technician said "Nothing personal, but if I had known that you were in an apartment building, we wouldn't have cancelled the appointment". Kind of odd way to start the conversation, and doubly so considering how most of Northern VA lives in apartments, but OK. They were otherwise pleasant and were on their way when the work was completed. I began experiencing the issue again, and called them back to re-repair the television. I was told they'd "look into it" and call me back. A week later, I realized I hadn't received a call, so I called again, and was told that they'd have someone on it and would call me back. I begrudgingly approved and hung up. This was around Thanksgiving and I was traveling for the next week, but I never received a call. When I got home and called Tyler's TV again, I was told that I needed to call Samsung to "get the ticket to the top of the queue". OK. I called Samsung again, and told them that Tyler's TV had sort of been giving me the run-around. Apparently my comments angered the technicians, because after calling them about the new ticket, they told me to find a new service provider, as they would not be willing to work with customers who make "derogatory comments about the services". The technician then doubled down on his previous comments, saying that it's difficult to move TV screens into apartment buildings. Again, it seems odd that they have such deeply-held biases against apartment buildings. Considering how I carried my TV, box and all, into my apartment with no issues, I think it would be a safe assumption that two technicians could find a way to carry a screen into an elevator and through a door. If you live in an apartment, I suggest looking elsewhere for TV repair, because the technicians at Tyler's TV admittedly aren't able to navigate the halls.

For $75, Carlton Tyler promptly came to our home and diagnosed the problem with our TV. He subtracted the fee from the final cost to repair the TV. Pick up and delivery are included in the price if he has to take the TV to his shop, as he did in our case. We found him to be very customer service oriented, honest and reasonably priced. A very pleasant gentleman as well. I will recommend him to friends and neighbors. I honestly wasn't sure there were even TV repairman around anymore, but I am glad there are.

Fabulous. We have an elaborate setup and Tyler's fixed the remote relay system and went beyond the call of duty. While waiting for a part, our guy used his own cable so we had complete service in the meantime. We were EXTREMELY pleased with the professionalism and service.

This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. The owner is mean, rude and doesn't know how to behave with customers. He doesn't respond to calls for days after the TV has been given for service and if we follow up, he doesn't like it. He talks as if we he is going a favor on us. I will never recommend this business to anyone.

I made a number of calls to this business before finally getting an individual on the line. The gentleman was very professional and courteous on the phone and indicated he was heading to a service call. I briefly explained the issue with my TV and was told I would receive a call upon his return to the office. I never received that call. After another attemp at making contact, I gave up after waiting several days and found another repair shop. I do not know if these guys are good or not but gave them an "F" for lack of communication and failure to return my call.

I called Tyler's TV for a home service call to diagnose an issue with a 60" LG Plasma TV that stopped working. Carlton returned my call promptly. He explained that the cost of the service call would be applied to any labor to fix it if I decided to have it fixed. Either way, he advised (and I took his advice) that it was worth looking at for the price of the service call before buying a new tv. He came out and diagnosed the problem quickly. He ordered the part (after finding it at the lowest cost possible for me) and made an appointment to install it. He came out on time to fix it and charged me accordingly. The entire repair - parts and labor - was significantly less than a new TV. Carlton was polite, honest and prompt and his rates were reasonable. I highly recommend Tyler's TV.

I dropped the TV off on a Tuesday. I had to call the following Monday, and left a message. He called back and said he had not looked at it yet, had been very busy. He looked the next day, said it seemed to be working fine, and asked me questions. I told him what the problem was and he asked about how it was connected to cable source. Said he would look at it some more and call me back. I had to call him again, and he said it would need new tuner part, so I asked for a price to determine whether to have it fixed or not. I called him, again, and left a message. He called me back and had me confused with another customer. When I called him to say all I wanted was a price, he got a little testy and said he had sent me an email with the information. I told him he did not have my email, I was not home, and could he just give me the price of a new part. He finally figured out who I was, and he was trying to find a part. Another few days went by and I called and said I would just come by to pick up the TV and asked what I owed for his time. I paid him $35 for looking at it, which I thought was a reasonable charge. When I got the TV home, my husband noticed that the bracket to hang it on the wall had not been put back on, so I had to go back to pick it up. In fairness, he did offer to deliver it to me, but it was close to the area where my parents lived, and I was going by to see them anyway. I was disappointed in my first Angie's List experience. I assumed that if they were on the List, they would be a dependable Service Provider.

The monitor is as good as new and for $66 the repair was a bargain. Of course, I would have no way of knowing what needed to be fixed and the fact that it was repaired for so little speaks to Mr. Tyler's honesty. The repair took 6 days but required the ordering of special electronic components. Mr. Tyler should have kept me informed during the process. Instead I called several times to get the status. He did not initiate a callback until the repair was finished. Overall, my experience was very positive and I would not hesitate to recommend his services to others. My advice to Mr. Tayler is this: periodic call to the customer generates goodwill (and positive reviews).

The picture color on my Sony TV had too much red and green that could not be adjusted. I called Tyler's TV, described my problem and gave Mr. Tyler the model number of the TV. We arranged an appointment time for him to come to my home to evaluate the issue. He was very prompt, had already done research on the TV and was honest in his assessment. Fully explained my options and the cost. In the end It was more cost effective for me to get a new one even though he would have made more $ fixing mine. Very professional attitude and pleasant manner. Service call was $75.00. Well worth it. Highly recommend this company.

Went great! Was able to arrange an in-house appointment within 24 hours after I contacted them. Faulty panels in the TV were removed and taken to their shop for repair. They were successfully repaired and reinstalled in seven days. Carlton and his assistant were personable and professional. Final cost was what they estimated. I would use them again and highly recommend them to friends.

I have tried several times to schedule an appointment with this company. Every time I contact them to schedule an appointment, they tell me they will look at the schedule and call me back. But they never call back. They are the only company in the area that does this specific kind of work and they are extremely unresponsive and unprofessional. 4 times over the last 2 weeks, the same response.

I had a large screen plasma set that abruptly stopped working. Tyler came out, determined that a power supply board was bad, and ordered an OEM replacement part (considerably cheaper than a factory Samsung one). After the new part arrived and he replaced it, it turned out additional components in the tv had failed. At this point I decided to replace the set rather than repair it, and Tyler charged me only for the first service call- not the replacement part. While my tv didn't get fixed, spending a small amount of money on a service call on the chance that an expensive tv could be repaired instead of replaced was money well spent.

It went great! I'm so thrilled to have found this company. I told Carlton about my problem with my older model 32 inch TV, gave him the model number and he promised to call me back within 15 minutes and he did so. I had been told by several sources that I needed a new TV but didn't want to do that. Carlton found a sofeware update for my model and came to my house the very same afternoon. Within just a few minutes, he did his thing and the TV was good as new! I'm over the moon to have found this guy and will definitely have him as my "go to" guy in the future. Thank you, Carlton!!

My TV screen went black and had blinking lights at the bottom. I contacted Tyler's TV as an authorized Panasonic repair facility. He informed me that even though the TV was just out of warranty (1 yr) as I had purchased if from Costco I had another year and that as I had used my Costco American Express card I had a third year warranty. Very helpful and repair was made without a problem. Excellent service.
