down into our living room ceiling. Again H & S came out and found
it was a much simpler repair than it had looked to us. This repair too
has held up.
We also had them go around our house and stop the dripping faucets in all the sinks and showers. The entire repair, of tub and sinks and shower was @ $300.
I was told that the life expectancy of the old valve was about right. I told him I feared flooding as when the first valve failed ten years earlier. He told me the original developer installed valve was probably made of plastic which caused the flooding. He assured me the valve that was being replaced and the replacement valve would not leak if the internal diaphragm failed.
He explained to me what had made the thumping sound, and offered to give me the old valve if I so desired.
He was very reassuring regarding the sound I heard and what could be expected if the valve were to fail.
