They're very pet friendly. They remember her name. You always have to wait 10 or 15 minutes but that's not too bad. Very professional.

We have been going to Dominion Animal Hospital since 1980. Unless it's an after hours emergency or something requiring a true specialty, we wouldn't go anywhere else. We know everyone there and they know us. They have always been gracious and caring to all of our many critters over the years. Even the pets don't mind going to visit at Dominion.

  • The care provider conducted tests that we had initially discussed.
  • However, also performed an invasive procedure after being given explicit instructions NOT to perform it. The provider did not attempt to contact us to confirm whether or not they could perform this procedure and instead just did it anyway.

Any customer who uses this provider should be sure to get the price of any procedure in writing before authorizing anything. When questioned after the fact the Dr. said he was unaware of the cost of that procedure, $650.00.
We were also given two drastically different estimates (nearly twice the price) for the same procedure when a different member of my family called and inquired about the cost.
Also, this location charges you with a $33 and quot;boardingand quot; charge while your pet is already undergoing costly procedures as well as a $5 and quot;biohazard feeand quot;, which I have never seen at any other provider for the last 25 plus years.

I like the way they explain everything that is going on very clearly. It is also very evidence to me that they are animal lovers and that they care. I thought their recommended treatments seemed to be right on the money. They seemed very competent in what they were doing. Their prices are pretty average. The other vets around here are much more expensive.

They're excellent. It's like a older business. They treat you like they know you. I just like the way they treat the customer and also treat the animals. My new dog has hip distraction and I just like the way they treat her. And another thing I like is you don't have to lift the dog up on the table to examine. They have a rising table. So all you have to do is just have the dog step on the table and it will just rise up. I've never had to wait very long. And when my mother passed away they were very good. I had to get to Richmond in a hurry and I had to leave my dog there. So, I called them up and I said I need to get my dog there, and I said I don't know how long I am going to be there, and she said, fine, just bring her in and we'll take of her, don't worry about it, we got her. Just go down there and deal with your mom. So, that was really a load off my mind, because I wouldn't have been able to take the dog with me.

We have been using Dominion since moving to Herndon 13 years ago and they continue to show us that they care not only about our pets but about the owners as well. We missed the discount period for teeth cleaning due to a death in the family and when I asked about another possible discount period since I had 3 animals to bring in, they made an exception and said they would extend the offer for me. They then were very flexible about finding a date where I could bring all three at once.
Our dog was due for and exam and shots in a few weeks but they said rather than bring him in and have to pay for another visit, they could just combine it with the teeth cleaning since they examine them before the anesthesia anyways.
I also appreciate that the vet called to let us know how everything went and how the animals were doing, rather than have someone who perhaps didn't interact with our pets call.
Everyone we come in contact with at Dominion is always very friendly and helpful and I think it says a lot about their practice that so many employees have been there for a very long time.
We have and will continue to recommend Dominion to everyone.

They have the most reasonable prices around but it varies from visit to visit depending on what needs to be done. If I am having lab work, it is going to cost more and if it is shots, they have shot discount days where they discount the cost of shots on that day. They are all excellent veterinarians. They are very caring and good at getting people in. They are very oriented towards the care of the patients and the patients' owner.

I paid around $ 130 for all the tests and for the visit. The price range from $50 to $500 depending on how many pets we have that day. They are reasonably priced based on what the vets in the area charge. The founder over there Kermit Crockrell died. He was a saint as far as I am concerned and the people who took over went much beyond than how it was 10 years ago. If I had any problems I go to a vet who is closer to me, I go over there because I trust them. The secretaries at the desk have been there for a long time. One time when I was there with my dog, someone had brought a giant dog in there and I was terrified. They just let me go and said I could pay up later. Later I called them and gave my credit card number. I thought it was very nice. They understand what it means to have pets.

I like the way they are set up. It is an older building with a lot of vets there. I saw two different vets on two different occasions. It is not impressive from the street. They are really, really nice to the dogs. My dog is big and the table raised up, which was really cool. They had good equipment. I liked the way they treat the animals. My dog is a rescue dog. These people are on the ball. I feel that they can take care of anything that will come up with this dog. They really make me feel comfortable. Their prices are average because vets cost a lot.

They were very helpful at working with me to keep costs down. They don't try to do services that aren't necessary and the staff is extremely friendly. They seem to really care about the animals.

People at Dominion Animal Hospital are very good. They are friendly. They are fairly accurate. The atmosphere at the clinic is good and family-like. They are very friendly to the animals. They take good care of them. The animals are never distressed when they are with them. They do a fine job. I would continue to use them in the future.

They're a good service. I was able to use the discount they were offering for teeth cleaning for the cats. There was an issue with one of my cats who had a goopy eye. They said that they would look at it when she was under anesthesia. However, I didn't get a comment back from the vet about that so I don't know what the result was other than that she still has a goopy eye. I haven't followed up to find out about it. The receptionist told me they generally look at the file to see any notes, and there weren't notes about it. Other than that it was good and I'll continue using them.

I contacted Dominion Animal Hospital after carefully reviewing member reports and the company website. The front office personnel were very courteous and helpful in scheduling my initial visit to this vet for my two large breed dogs. During the initial phone call, I was directed to go to the company website and download some initial information forms which could be brought with me to the appointment or faxed ahead. Because I was bringing in both dogs at once, I elected to fax my information ahead to prevent having to wait at the front for my appointment. Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed about the office was that it was pretty small. This is not normally a big issue, but when you have two large animals in a small waiting area with a number of other animals (including cats, etc.) it can cause quite a stir. Both of my dogs are well socialized, but I could tell they were nervous being in such a small place. The front office had not processed my faxes and could not locate them when I arrived, so I had to fill out the initial intake forms all over again which resulted in a delay in seeing the doctor. After my check-in was complete, I waited about another 10-15 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time to be seen. I was asked to bring both dogs in at once, which I did, and in the exam room were the vet, and two veterinary technicians. They used a special table that was a combination of a lift and scale, which caused my dogs some additional anxiety. Since the surface of the table was stainless steel, it was cold and slippery and the vet techs had to work hard to keep my dog on the table as it was elevated from the floor to normal height (about 3 feet) for the heart worm blood draw. The blood draw went very smoothly as well as the rest of the checkup. I suspect the next time I come in, things will go a bit more smoothly as this was the first time my dogs had ever been on a table that elevates. The vet recommended the K-9 influenza vaccine for my dogs which I declined since they are not boarded. Overall, the visit went well, and I will use this vet again. I only mention the small office and other facts so that members who plan to use this vet will be well informed ahead of time (i.e. use a short leash for your pets). All staff were courteous, helpful, and able to answer questions. I strongly recommend that if you fax in your paperwork, you call ahead to verify it was received and entered into the computer system. This vet does offer a free, electronic record for each pet, which I found incredibly helpful. I feel that the price I paid for the minimal services performed seemed a bit high compared to what I was paying for the same services in Washington state just a few months ago.

I brought my American Bulldog in with a painful growth on her paw. Dr. Moore was extremely thorough, taking into account the dog's history and breed characteristics. Dr. Moore examined the growth and diagnosed a secondary infection. When he was unable to make a definite diagnosis as to the root cause of the growth he referred me to a dermatology specialist and prescribed antibiotics for the secondary infection which was causing the dog a great deal of discomfort. Both the referral and the antibiotics were unqualified successes. Dr. Moore was careful to photograph the problem in its present state, which was key to the dermatologist being able to successfully diagnose a dermatitis due to yeast infection. Dr. Moore was also adamant that if the specialist could not get us an appointment quickly, to let him know so that he could apply pressure to get the dog seen more quickly.

My dog started vomiting - but displayed none of her normal reactions to this, such as eating grass. She refused to eat anything, and was obviously in distress. The office managed to fit us right in, examined her, took X-Rays, and provided anti-vomiting medication. Dog is now fine.
