I was unable to close the cover completely after I changed the bag on my Electrolux vacuum, so it would not turn on. (I bought this machine in 2006 because it is very powerful, yet very quiet.)
I did not want to force the cover, so I took the vac to the Aerus store, which was located near Midlothian Turnpike at that time. I am unsure of the date, but I remember the details of the visit vividly. I was greeted by Ray Satterwhite. He briefly looked at the problem, loudly said the machine was, basically, a piece of junk, and that it absolutely could not be repaired because parts are no longer available for it. He spoke at length about his many years of work experience and expertise, about the history of the Electrolux brand, and explained why my machine and others like it were junk and then he put on a high-pressure sales pitch to try sell me a vac that cost over a thousand dollars. (If he had to, he would sell it to me on an installment plan.)
Afterwards, I took the machine to different store that services a variety of vacuums. They fixed the problem within 2 minutes at no charge -- all that was wrong was that I had inserted the bag incorrectly. They also confirmed that parts for the machine were readily available.
