About us

COTC Mechanical Inc was founded in 2010 by natives of the Washington DC area. We are still considered a small business by SBA standards, and take pride in being able to provide great customer service. We strive to respond quickly, and provide immediate solutions. We are a service based contractor, so we want to develope ongoing relationships with our clients, which result in reviews and referrals. And we understand that providing exceptional service is the first step in that process. We do not ever subcontract any work or projects. And we also provide financing on residential system replacements.

Services we offer

Residential heating and air conditioning: We service, repair, and install air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, gas and oil furnaces or boilers, standard and tankless water heaters, geothermal systems, radiant heating, air cleaners, humidifiers, and dehumidifiers.

Services we don't offer

We are a full service HVAC contractor, and offer all HVAC services and water heater options. We do not provide duct cleaning services.

It went well.
Description of Work: Went through inspection of one unit and gave an estimate on another unit. We didn't go with them for the new system because they quoted a smaller size (3 ton) than the other three quotes we had (3.5 ton)...chances are they gave a quote for the size of the system that we had inspected instead of the system that we wanted replaced. They asked me to call, so they may have wanted to confirm the size, but I didn't have the time and figured a bigger system was going to cost more than the quoted one and we got similar quotes for a 3.5 ton.

Description of Work: I purchased a $79 deal fro an A/C Tune-up including freon. The service went very well. I paid an additional fee to replace a part. One technician came out and completed the job in about 40 minutes. Overall, I thought they were pretty good. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

We would like to thank this member for acknowledging that we were responsive, punctual and professional, and we're troubled that this member did not contact us directly to inform us of any displeasure. We are sorry that this member is unhappy with the service he received for his coupon. We do feel that we provided the service that the coupon advertised, and we feel that issues with the cooling system itself are the real reasons for his displeasure. Specifically, this member's cooling system is over 24 years old, and had not been properly maintained. This can create needs that cannot be corrected through a one-time seasonal maintenance (the condenser coil was severely matted with grass, dust, and pollen debris, which would require a chemical cleaning). Also, we found multiple parts failed during our assessment of the system. The technician did not recommend replacement of the system as indicated by this member... The technician's report shows that he did perform maintenance functions (oiling motors, tightening electrical connections, flushing drain, etc., and actually recommended replacement of the failed parts, rather than trying to provide a quote for replacement of the system. We do hope that this member will reconsider what transpired, and contact us for any future heating or cooling needs.
