Green Hill does an effective job marketing their services throughout our neighborhood and in this particular case, I'm glad we did not dismiss their flyers. They are thoroughly professional in their communication, services, and customer follow-up. Many companies (and individuals) can do yard work, but we like Green Hill for their professionalism and will continue using them.

They do great work at a fair price. They are easy to work with and provide tailored services. I've used them for three years now after trying other lawn care service companies.

Terrific service. They're reliable and consistent. They show up when they're supposed to and go the extra mile till the job is done. If you have a special circumstance or project, they come over to discuss, and their expertise and know how usually come up with a solution that's both smart and affordable. Have used them for the past three years and still going strong.

It went great..............The big thing is i am busy and have no time to watch over the landscape and i can count on Greenhill to perform services timely and make it look good.

I dont think i called them once to come back because of an isue, they are very consistent and perform services as contracted.

I would recommend them to anybody.

Over the 14 years I have  lived in this house, I have been frustrated with the communications and responsiveness of my landscape companies.
Green Hill is a breath of fresh air.  They respond quickly to emails and provide a great service.
Today, we had 18 inches of snow with a 400 foot driveway.  I looked out my windows in the afternoon and we were plowed out and the walkway is clean.  Did not need to call and beg to be recused....They just made it happen.

We have tried so many different companies in the past and I have to say Green Hill is the most reliable and consistent of them all. Sure there are always unforeseen circumstances such a mother nature (!) and elements out of their control, so their flexibility and persistence is very important. I think they have multiple crews servicing an area, so they can help out as needed. While they have a large crew (I see many of their trucks in Northern Virginia), I believed Green Hill is still a family owned business -- I always talk to the same people when I call their office and the owners take an active role -- even calling us for scheduling questions. Their area managers are also very good, always checking up on the work of their crew, emailing us photos and updates. The same crew has been working on our property for the past year, they go about their work efficiently, no-smoking or loud talking. To me having the same crew is very important -- they get to know our property and take pride in the appearance.
Really professional and I could not be happier -- they have certainly met all of our expectations!

My experience with Green Hill has not gone well and for the money I paid I expected more. Our first experience came last fall/winter for seasonal clean-up. The company came and cleaned up all the leaves, mulched, did some edge work to prepare the house for winter, as well as aerated. Spring came and the company came back and did spring clean-up ($850), more edging, put down more mulch - without getting rid of the last layer of mulch.
Now it's spring/summer. There was so much mulch laying in my yard that when I went to plant flowers, I dug down inches and inches before I found dirt. The company supposedly aerated my lawn. My husband and I stared at the lawn to see where the holes and seed were, and we had a hard time seeing anything. They were supposed to clean out debris in the yard, spring clean up, but there were several areas between the trees in back that were never cleaned up. Nonetheless, we decided to persevere and hired Green Hill to clean up debris on a bi-weekly basis ($95/every two weeks) - a lot of twigs, pine cones, and leaves fall to the ground all year. No mowing necessary, just clean up the yard.
Unfortunately, this has not worked out. Green Hill did not clean the yard, at first all they did was mow, a service that we did not even want. Then the company billed us for cleaning the yard - which they had not done - which is more expensive than mowing ($35). I called their main office at least three times to get an answer for how much I should pay for services actually rendered, and no manager called me back. I also sent email asking them to please clean the yard and stop mowing, yet the mowing continued and the yard remained filled with twigs and other debris. Finally, one of the one of the office staff called me to let me know that they would start cleaning the yard and stop the mowing.
Well, even after all this, they still were not able or not willing to do the necessary work to keep the yard clean. I gave them a few weeks to prove they could clean up debris but I gave up after their most recent effort. The crew was out at my house on a Saturday, after we received a whole lot of rain. I was home so I saw what they did. They came through the yard with their blowers. That's fine for leaves on a dry fall day but that doesn't do anything for debris in a wet yard. I went outside after they left and twigs, branches, pine cones, shedding bark from a cypress tree - all laying on the ground. I cancelled my service and asked for a close out bill so I could put this unpleasant experience to rest.

We love this company!  When our mower broke down, Green Hill was happy to add us to their mowing schedule on a temporary basis.  They had the yard done the next day ... beautifully.
We've also used them for the full Spring service (see above).  The crew was so hard working.  They did the job right and didn't take short cuts.  They were knowledgeable and professional.  Our landscaping has never looked better.
The office staff is so helpful.  They even worked to make sure all our work was complete before a party..

This is my first season using them and so far I like them quite a bit. They are professional. The manager that I've dealt with is very good. He is responsive; he responds to e-mails and he answers his phone. He seems honest and he seems to care. The staff so far is doing a very nice job. The do things on schedule and the people who you call are very professional.

Overall, they are very punctual and the rate per mow is great!  The rates on their other services are a bit steep, but I suppose there is some give and take there.  I still use the company, but I have had a number of customer service issues.  Initially, I hired them for aeration/overseeding.  It took over two months to get this server completed.  They agreed to do it and then when no one came, they informed me after emails and calls, that they would have to get stuff as they do not generally do this service in the Spring.  The job was finally completed.  Their mowing team came every two weeks as requested throughout the summer and overall did a fair job.  On several occasions, I had to remind them of where my property line ends as they would just stop at some point and not go all the way back in my yard.  On another occasion, they broke one of my solar lights with their equipment, but they did reimburse me the amount of the light after I complained.  When fall services came, I requested they aerate/overseed, clean out my mulch beds and refill, and leaf cleanup.  I finally got my first leaf cleanup this week and again I had to remind them of where the property line is (same guys).  Upon leaving, they still had not learned, so I called manager and he said he would walk with them next time, but I still have leaves in the outer edges of my property for now.  Apparently, they will come back in December, but I am sure they will send me an invoice by then.  They are very prompt with that.  Additionally, they piled all the leaves up at the edge of the front yard and halfway through the street.  I also complained about this as it narrowed my street to one lane and the manager said the truck had been broken, but it would come in three days.  It did come eventually, but not without neighbor complaints.  Even with the leaves not completely cleaned out of the yard, no discount was offered.  Finally, because they left the leaves so long, I am concerned that my aeration/overseeding service may have been a moot point with the leaves killing the new grass and turning the old brown.  And, again, I am still awaiting the mulching service.  In general, they are not prompt in their scheduling, they get around to things when it behooves them, not you.  They do a decent job, but nothing spectacular.  I will be looking into other services soon.  One last note, I sent some emails and calls at the beginning of the year over the months long scheduling of the aeration that we not pleasant about their customer service, and then when I logged into my LinkedIn account, two of their office staff had viewed my profile.  I found that a bit inappropriate and creepy.  Why would a service provider that I am paying need to stalk my professional resume?

Green Hill is great!  They are much more thorough, and have more men per house, so they are much faster than the others.  However, they have super heavy machinery, and they don't always pay attention to the wet spots in the grass.  We have a small brook in the back, and it's always wet. They tore up the grass around the edge.  We had to reseed, and there was no compensation for that. They told us it was our fault we didn't cancel them that day because it was too wet. It was our fault.  Their weeding was great!  Their mulching was fantastic, and the winter clean up is excellent!  They raised their price again this year, but they offered our neighbors our old price, for essentially the same amount of space.  That's another reason why we got a new company.

I've been using them for years. They charge per cut. The work was satisfactory. They do a good quick job. They are not the best people I could imagine but they've been doing it for years. I am satisfied with their price. I would recommend them for an economical cut.
