Matthews Well & Pump was founded in 1960 by the late Jack Matthews and purchased by Todd and Jill Vander Pol in 1989. Since then the Vander Pols have sought to put their Dutch business heritage to good use. Our business model has been to use the best and most-innovative equipment available and then, through a strenuous hiring and training process, bring on board technicians and office staff who share our view that the business exists to meet the needs of our customers. Mr. Vander Pol encourages everyone to “do what you do and do it well!”. Since your well is unique from your neighbor’s well- based on the original construction, materials used and the strata the well is constructed through- we work with you as our customer to get an understanding of your past experience with your well’s “normal performance” and the concern we now want to address. Then through a data-gathering process developed over the last 30 years our technicians can normally identify one or more options to correct or improve your concern. In many instances we can then give you an on site estimate of the cost to perform the work. In some situations we will not have all the data required to provide a firm estimate, in which case we would work on a time and material basis with your approval. We stock nine different well pumps on our service trucks along with pipe, wire, pressure tanks, switches etc. Ninety percent of the time we can correct a well pump problem with one service call!
