I took my 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty 7.3 diesel with a 6" suspension lift here for a simple suspension/steering check after hearing a grinding noise while turning. I left the premises and barely made it home with a HUGE transmission leak. I never take my vehicle to any shops because my father, brother, boyfriend and I are all mechanically inclined and have done numerous repairs on a variety of different vehicles ourselves. I only took my truck here after my boss recommended I do so because our company uses them as a shop on all of our company trucks, and because my house was too far away where my father could look at my suspension noise and I didn't want to risk damaging it. I was told after the truck was transported from the Gainesville shop to the Haymarket shop to get inspected by the diesel mechanic, that AFTER the test drive was performed, my truck was 3 qt's low on transmission fluid and was leaking. I explained to the shop that my truck has never ever had a leak prior and I am aware of this because I religiously check my oil due to there being a small oil leak, and every time I check the oil I check the transmission fluid as well. I also park in the same spot everyday and there has never been a drop of transmission fluid on the ground. Even on this day I had checked all around and underneath my vehicle before it went to the shop to check for broken suspension pieces. I was not told by the shop that my vehicle was not safe to drive home and could potentially blow my trans if I left the parking lot and tried to drive anywhere within the next 10 mile radius. My truck leaks 1 QUART of transmission fluid every 5-10 minutes. Considering my truck takes 17 qt's it is A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM. I would not have left if I had known so, for the risk of damaging my own vehicle. I was only told it had a leak and to "keep it in the back of my mind". I was hung up on twice by the two different locations after being courteous about my issue. I was told the front pump seal on my transmission was blown and this occurred AFTER their test drive... and there is NO LIABILITY of theirs therefore they will not fix it or try to make things right. My truck went from a daily driver to undriveable after leaving this shop. A leak like this should not occur over one test drive unless the vehicle was abused while under their care! As well as if the seal had been going out there would of been a leak that I would have noticed! I am now going to have to remove my transmission to repair the seal AND OR replace the transmission after driving it to my house after I was not told the severity of my trucks condition. Now, my truck is older and has some miles on it but this would be a 1/1,000,000 chance that my truck randomly broke under their care without it not being their fault. If you have read this entire paragraph, DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE THEIR or you may no longer have a vehicle to drive!!! And probably have to spend a couple grand to make it drivable again! I am attaching a picture of how bad the vehicle leaks. At the end of all of this I wasn't even refunded the $93.00 that was spend for the $63.00 suspension check and the $30.00 worth of transmission fluid they put back into it after driving it from shop to shop and their "test drive". I don't know if my truck looked like a toy but it is something I love... I am deeply deeply disappointed and saddened that my truck ever went to this shop. I bet you if it hadn't I would still be driving it.

Piedmont normally had done a fair job with our vehicles but on this visit They stripped one of the Wheel Lugs and wanted us to pay $150 to fix it. I know they were responsible because we have had the vehicle for 4 years and they were the only shop to ever remove any of the wheels. They probably tried to replace the lug nuts to quickly and stripped the threads on the lug. If you damage a customers vehicle, you should own up to it and repair whatever you damaged. Afterwards I found out that they also stripped the oil pan threads on my neighbors car and wanted $250 to replace it. They ended up calling the cops on him because he refused to pay it, after yelling at him in front of other customers! Me or my family will never use them again!

I had been taking my Sienna van to Piedmont for all service since I bought it in 2013. All work was good until the last visit. They stripped one of the lug nut studs and didn't offer to replace it. I know that it was their fault because like I said, they were the only shop to ever service the vehicle and I had never removed any of the lug nuts. They returned the vehicle to me and handed me the one loose lug nut and stated that they would order a new lug nut stud to replace it at my cost. I declined after they said it would be about $100 installed. Piedmont also stripped out my friends oil pan threads where the plug goes and wanted $600 to replace it, again they were the only shop to service his vehicle for the last several years. He declined and then they offered to replace his oil pan for the cost of the parts only (basically admitting that it was their fault but still not offering to cover the complete cost.) It cost him $150 for the new oil pan. FYI, oil pan threads should never strip if the plug is properly installed, they are always covered in oil! After these 2 incidents neither of us will ever take our vehicles to either of their locations in the future. Their mechanics need to stop using impact guns to tighten lug nuts, oil pan plugs, and other parts. All decent mechanics know to use torque wrenches at the proper setting to properly replace these parts. If they are going to go for speed instead of proper procedures then they need to respect their customers by replacing the items that they break.

Well, they wanted to charge parts only for this last go around, about $1000 worth of parts and they would "eat" the labor. This didn't sit well with me because the repair was well within their written two year parts/labor warranty. They didn't want to honor their own warranty because they falsely claimed the vehicle had been driven in an extended overheated state. That is simply not true. I went through the BBB and the States Attorney office to no avail. The Piedmont Managing Partner claims I am being dishonest in this account. He is wrong. A Subaru mechanic eventually purchased the vehicle and he stated there was clear evidence of poor workmanship on the previous timing belt repair.  To make matters worse, and that points directly to the dishonest nature of management, when I refused to allow them to perform the work they told me I had 24 hours to arrange to have the vehicle removed - it had to be towed because of the timing belt issue. I arranged for a tow truck company to retrieve the vehicle. I called Piedmont and arranged for the time and I asked the on-duty service manager if there is anything they needed from me before the tow truck driver retrieves the vehicle.  He said, "nope, you're all set". Keep in mind Piedmont still had the key to the vehicle (we only had one set). Long story short - the Managing Partner called Prince William County Cops and reported that I stole the vehicle from their lot without paying for their expenses (a tow and their "diagnostic" fee). I say again - they never told me of these charges when I was making arrangements to have the vehicle removed PLUS their own manager handed over the keys to the tow company. So, somehow I stole the vehicle. I cleared it up with the Police and they said sometimes these types of business owners use the "Inn Keeper" law to inact revenge or whatever stupid games he had in mind. Once I found out that I owed these charges I immediately called Piedmont and spoke to Kevin, a long-time service manager and gave him my credit card number - something I'd done on several occasions for previous repairs. The transaction wen through. About 5 minutes later, Kevin called me back saying he was told to cancel the transaction and that I had to make the transaction in person. I asked him what was going on and said he had no idea, that this was crazy and no way to treat a long time customer. Again, there was no resolution, I just think the general public needs to understand what type of person is running this business.

An excellent experience as usual! Piedmont Tire representatives were fast to answer the phone, schedule my car, and were friendly as always. I especially enjoy that they know what service I need (synthetic blend, tire pressure preferences, etc.) and that they are always so friendly and respectful. The car was done when promised, and they called to let me know it was ready.

It is convenient. I trust them. They don't charge for certain things and they don't take advantage of me. I feel comfortable going to them.

I actually wanted to leave a review of Piedmont Tire in general as opposed to my and quot;last experienceand quot;. I started taking my vehicles there since I moved into the area in 1999. I find them to be exceptionally ethical. On more than one occasion, they've not charged me anything if they couldn't diagnose a problem or the problem was so minor that it was considered a courtesy. They saved me a few grand when I almost bought my kid a used car and Piedmont do their pre-purchase used car inspection. Found several things that would have cost me almost $2000 to repair and one item that should have never passed inspection by the selling dealership one month prior. Rarely have any of my vehicles been in the shop for more than a day and if it is, it's because it's a parts related issue. I won't take my vehicles anywhere else.

Car was towed in by a local towing company. Mechanics go right on it, Fixed it right away and charged a reasonable price. Strongly recommend the haymarket location. Great guys who are trustworthy and fix what they say they will fix without trying to up-sell me something else.

It went very well. I showed up around 6pm and they are open until 8pm. They charged me 50 dollars to run the test and then recommended the battery change (Interstate). They seem like a solid and honest shop and I recommend them.

I am very satisfied with Piedmont Tire's performance. I have never felt that they were trying to invent repairs during the annual inspections and emissions inspections. They have been able to accommodate my schedule for service and inspections and have always been professional and honest with me.
