"I’m John Donohue the owner we did re pave the driveway on or about 6/20/23 we were working on several of the neighbors driveways in a small HOA community we had contact with homeowner and we walked through the process on what was going to be done on the driveway. Agreed to do the work with no deposit, which is pretty standard for us on smaller jobs. We don’t take deposits because they are usually completed that day. We agreed on payment in full upon completion and to do the driveway as same as we did the other 8-10 others. Removing badly broken areas so I cut away from transition points and then re-paved the entire driveway with a 2 inch layer of new asphalt he had wanted widen slightly which we agreed at no extra charge. Everything went smooth. Driveway looks as it should I repaving over the existing driveway, which we do on average of 25 to 30 driveways per week. We completed the job job in a timely fashion. Same day. The homeowner was there. Came back. Two days later. The cars were parked on the driveway. Tried several times to contact the homeowner. Fast forward approximately three weeks after several unanswered phone calls messages no explanation of leaving town for 2 to 3 weeks which obviously is not of my business but a phone call would’ve been sufficient and I would’ve gladly taken payment over the phone with Visa, MasterCard, etc. with no issue whatsoever anyway I was in the general area one afternoon stopped by there and the homeowner at residence Yes I knocked on his door he answered presented a invoice to finish our. business. We expect a payment when we’re done just like everyone else when the job is complete you expect to get paid for complete work especially with zero deposit upfront, which was fine and anyway, the homeowner gave me two different credit cards. I don’t know the circumstances with his bank but any rate the system would not process either card so the homeowner suggested he Zell me the money and I said that is just fine and he is correct. There was a trust issue at that point on mailing me a check after three weeks but it any rate no discussion of dissatisfaction with the job at that time they had plenty of time to inspect condition looks very good in my opinion if the homeowner has a question, he has our cell numbers and emails and we are very easy to get in touch with. as we have a been in business in Virginia for over 30 years with the same phone number so if the homeowners have any questions or complaints about the job, I will be happy to address them but as to this point I have not received one phone call or message with their concerns or dissatisfaction with the completed work looks exactly the same as all of the neighbors I done which are totally satisfied, and everyone else paid in full in a timely manner upon completion. We aren’t doing any sealcoating because of supply issues and high petroleum cost have made it very difficult on the asphalt business and we are trying to keep our business going. Through this time of inflation sorry we couldn’t get it sealed. For you. Please get it sealed. And I will be happy to pay for it. Out of my pocket. Again sorry and god bless. "To be on Angie’s list I have to meet background check and state licensing requirements so that being said I Am FULLY licensed and insured. This person was extremely tough to deal with would not meet in person never met her in person. Tried several times. I’ve owned a business for 30 plus yrs. she is mistaken and lying to defame my integrity and trying to make my business look bad have not received one complaint from either of the other neighbors tried everything she could not to pay her part of a shared road. I would highly recommend other companies to not do any work for this person not at all nice to put it lightly The neighbors had to call and make her pay her part. Very bad person. I AM a fully licensed state contractor with one total complaint in. 20 yrs of being state registered I am not perfect in any way but my other 100 plus A rated reviews speak for themselves I have hundreds of customers a year.
