My new vacuum was under warranty so I dropped it off at Ace Vacuums which is a Eureka approved warranty repair shop on January 3, 2013. I was told it would take 3-4 weeks to repair and that they would call me when they received the part. Two weeks later I call to inquire about the status and left a message requesting they call me back. I waited two days and received no response so I called them back and they said the part had not come in yet and that they would call me when it did. Two more weeks pass by and I call again and they say they have not received the part. I decide to call Eureka directly to find out when they are going to send the part to Ace. They in turn have to send a request to their service dept. and I should wait for a call. I wait another week and have not received a call from either place. It is now mid-February and no vacuum. I call Ace again and they tell me that Eureka contacted them and should be sending the part. I wait 2 more weeks before I call Ace again. The person on the phone tells me that he has re-ordered the part and has his receipt for the order because he does not think the first order for the part went through. We are now at the beginning of March. Eureka still on their end has no idea why the part has not yet been sent to Ace. To me it now appears that Ace did not properly order the part back in January, thus leaving me without my brand new vacuum for two months. Eureka has now told me that they will look into sending me a replacement vacuum. I wait a week and then call Ace to see if they had gotten the replacement. I left a message and did not get a return phone call for 3 days, so I call again and no one answers yet again. I call Eureka and they say they have shipped the vacuum but I still have not gotten a call from Ace. Finally at the end of March, Ace calls to tell me that they are either going to go out of business or move to a new location so I should come by and pick up my old vacuum. They do not have my new vacuum because no one has been at the shop for over a week so no shipments were delivered. I call Eureka and the vacuum was delivered to a different Ace Vacuum in Fairfax. They said they could ship it to me, but I would have to pay for it. In the end, I drove to Fairfax to pick up the replacement vacuum and then to Gainesville to pick up the broken vacuum. No repairs were done and it was the worst customer service I had ever received.
Description of Work: No service was actually performed. See story.
