Rick Thompson Electric is a family owned business that was started in 1981 by my father. When dad decided to retire and after working for him for more than 15 years, I decided to buy the company in 2005 to keep the name in the family. Still a family owned and operated business, we continue to provide excellent service to our customers. All of our employees go through a complete background check and attend a 4 year apprenticeship program to ensure you are always provided with a quality and knowledgeable electrician on all jobs. Posted on Angi's list late yesterday needing electrical work and Rick contacted me this morning. His crew arrived at 11 am and completed the job within an hour, including fixing wiring in my basement that had been a problem for many years. Would definitely call them again without hesitation.

Rich was fantastic! We discovered that our refrigerator was not working and were hoping for a quick response so we could avoid the refrigerator and freezer contents going to waste. When I first called, he walked me through some troubleshooting in case it was an easy fix so I could avoid being charged if possible. When the troubleshooting didn't work, he was able to get to our house quickly and fix the problem. Clearly very knowledgable and very friendly!

While I did not hire, Rick Thompson Electric were straight forward and explained they did not do work on B&S Generators; however, they did provide me with the number for Inspired Electrical who I am working with. Not many companies will be straight forward and recommend a competitor. Definitely signs of a true professional!

Called Rick Thompson Electric but no answer. Left a VM. Several hours later received a return call. Told the party on the phone what I needed and had to schedule appointment 5 days in advance. On scheduled day, a company rep arrived around the time scheduled. Had to explain again what I wanted. He quoted me a price of $100.00 to install a timer switch! I needed the switch installed as my health prevents me from making even slight physical exertions. It was apparent he knew I was in a pinch. I gave him the okay and five minutes later he was finished. I paid him and that was that--until a month later. The box is a two-gang box, i.e., it has two switches. The second switch, the one that required no adjustment, suddenly stopped functioning. Will not call Rick Thompson Electric again to repair it even though it may have been his rep that caused the problem. I have no appetite to have the same company that screwed me to screw me again. Am looking for another electrician. Good luck with Rick Thompson Electric. Have been furious over this incident which explains the delay in evaluation. I didn't want to use four-lettered words.

"Not real sure how to respond to this one except to say we are super sorry the customer was not satisfied with the work performed at their home. We really wish we would have been given the opportunity to come back out to check out what was going on so we could have fixed the issue. We strive to make our customers happy and in this case unfortunately we just were not given that opportunity. When we read through this review we do notice a couple things we wanted to touch base on to clear some things up: We work really hard to make sure we keep our guys busy and our customers happy which means we are not always in the office to pick up the phone as we are in the field. We do on the other hand encourage our customers to please leave us a message and we always give them a call back as soon as we return and on the same day. Again, we work really hard to keep our guys busy and our customers happy so we are also not always able to come right out for a service call as there are other customers that have previously been scheduled. We are sorry about this and yes we do sometimes book out a week to 2 weeks depending on the time of year and the work loads. Once jobs are scheduled we always give a 2 to 3 hour window of our arrival on the day we schedule the work and if for any reason that time frame is not able to be met we make sure we call to inform the customer as soon as we are able. In this particular case we arrived right on time and in the time frame given. Our service call rate to send a guy out to trouble shoot and install a timer like this one is typically a $150 minimum, we only charged $100 as we absolutely recognized the situation and wanted to try and assist the customer the best we could, both in workmanship and financially. We give a 1 year warranty on all work performed. If someone had just called us and we found the problem with other switch happened to be directly related to something accidentally done by our technician while working on the installation of the timer we would surely have came back out and fixed it at no additional cost. Without ever being contacted and given an opportunity to come back out to check out the issue its unclear what we could do to make it right. As mentioned above we strive to make our customers happy do not want anyone to be dissatisfied in any way so the only thing we could think of to do at this point is to just give you your money back. We will make sure we get a check out to you today. Again we are sorry and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors."

COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! Our circuit box started sizzling. I called just before closing on Monday, and Eddie called me back within an hour or two. Not only did he agree to come out at 8am the next morning, but he walked me through what I could do to shut off the concerning circuit while trying to keep on the heater. He arrived promptly, set straight to work, tightening loose screws and wires on the box and replacing a bad circuit. He recalled I said the receptacles in living room weren't working. He identified and fixed the problem. ALL IN ONE HOUR! Very reasonable charge! Thank God for capable and HONEST companies and experts!
