Perfectly. The work was started and completed as promised. The appraisal was handled professionally and the work to be done was clearly described. The work was handled with care, with no damage to surrounding plants or yard.

It went well. The reason I gave them a C for punctuality is they were supposed to show up a 10am. I called several times to the office to find out when they would arrive. I finally received a call back after 1pm that they had to go to an emergency first. While I understand the emergency took priority, I would have expected a proactive call in the morning to let me know

Goodfellers Tree Service arrived with Matt and crew at precisely the time they said they would. He got right to work and thinned out the canopy of the large pine by the garage. This removes excess weight from the top of the tree and makes it safer for all of us. They cleaned up all the debris and you cannot tell anyone was even here. I have used Goodfellers a few times over the years and Matt is very knowledgeable about the trees and offers a fair price. If you need tree service give them a try. Being a veteran myself I always make every effort to support veteran owned businesses when I can. Thanks Matt and crew, nice job.

Matt did an excellent job. He cut down two trees and there was a third tree that could not be avoided, so he cut that one down too. The trees were in a close area, so he had to drop the trees in pieces and he did this without any problems. I am impressed with his work ethic and the company's outstanding customer service. Their response to both emails and phone calls were quick and informative. Their price was the lowest of the estimates I received. I will definitely call Goodfellers again!

Called Goodfellers to schedule an estimate, office manager Veronica was professional and courteous and set things up. Matt arrived and we explained the work we wanted done, it was clear he knew his stuff. He understood what we wanted as was able to give us a clear understanding of how he was going to accomplish the job. We were able to take advantage of some of the discounts he was offering, which was a bonus. He and his crew arrived on the day schedules and they went right to work. The work was completed and cleaned up in a timely manner. They exceeded our expectations and would use them again.

Recently I contracted Goodfellers Tree Service to remove a large twin bean red oak tree located within 5 feet of my shop. The tree was 80 feet in height and 39 inches at the base and would certainly have crushed the structure when it fell. My first contact with Goodfellers was with office manager Veronica Cherry. Veronica took all my information and relayed it to owner Matt Denson. She then put together a written proposal for me to review and sign. The proposal included a number of different options with associated prices which I found all to be very reasonable and fair. After Mr. Densons on site evaluation of the tree and his price quote we established a time for him to do the job. I'm pleased to say Mr. Denson along with his ground crew member Mr. Paul Crist arrived on site on time and ready for work. Both Mr. Denson and Mr. Crist did and review of the work site noting any hazards or obstructions that would pose a safety concern. They removed a few items from the work site that might be damaged in the process. They took a look at the tree together and Mr. Denson informed Mr. Crist of the method he intended to use to complete the removal. This exchange of information provided a shared understanding of what to expect making for a safer and more productive process. Throughout the operation Mr. Denson and Mr. Crist kept in constant communication through voice and hand signals providing for a safe working environment and protection of all the structures they were working around. Also impressive was the fact that they both were wearing all the personal protective equiptment required and exhibited a genuine concern for safety. Working from the bucket lift Mr. Denson removed the weighted limbs over the shop very technically and professionally without any damage to the roof, gutters or structure itself. When he had removed these hazards he was able to drop the tree exactly where he had wanted. I was impressed with his work and asked him to give me a price on removing two other large tree within the work area. He made an on the spot evaluation of the trees and gave me a very fair price for their removal. I gave him the go ahead and he completed the job as professionally has the first. At the completion of the felling process he and Mr. Crist blew the leaves and small twigs that had fallen on the roof and did a general review of the site. Goodfellers Tree Service arrived with all equipment necessary to perform the requested services in a safe manner. Good, fast service, and great clean up. One rain gutter was damaged from removal of a tree close to the house but the gutter was replaced the same day the job was completed.

They were very professional and explained what needed to be done, interviewEd 3 companies, went with lowest quote.

Plenty of communication from start to finish. Cleaned up the entire work area. Very helpful. Rained on the scheduled day and was able to reschedule the following day (which was impressive as I am sure it created quite a busy day). I had contacted Goodfellers about a tree needing removal and had asked for estimate on anything else they may see. The Bradford pear was listed as needing canopy thinned to prevent stem failure, I looked it up and sure enough this tree is prone to that problem. I was getting estimates from two other companies, the first did not pick up on the Bradford pear and after Goodfellers visited I cancelled the other one. Price was fair but it can't be all about the cost, I need a tree service I can call that is also knowledgeable, able to see and identify a potential issue and offer advice on long term care. That is Goodfellers.

Very professional job. They were knowledgeable, skilled, and easy to work with. Took 3 large trees down with no damage to any other shrubs. It was quick (1/2 day) and did a nice job cleaning up. I would recommend them.

I had Goodfellers come out and take care my tree. I was extremely impressed with everything about this company. They are responsive, professional and have amazing customer service. When they were done everything looked amazing and the yard was cleaned up perfectly. Also, I trust the fact they have years of experience and had no worries about the job. Trust me, hire these guys!

Goodfellers came out and cut down 1 tree and trimmed 2 others. They showed up at the time specified and completed the work on time on a miserably hot August day without complaint. Crew was very friendly. There was some unexpected minor damage to a neighboring tree, but they went up that tree and cleaned up the damaged branches including clearing out some deadwood free of charge. Overall, very satisfied and the price was great.

They arrived a day later than planned but were swift with the job and did all work well. The job was completed on August 2nd. Their confirmation email said that work could not be completed until a deposit was paid. I was on vacation during the work and they did it anyway. When I returned from vacation, the owner/ office manager and I played some phone tag and communication about the balance. Next day I got a rude/ condescending text from the owner about needing a payment or he was going to start charing me late fees etc. (again i never agreed to a contract or payment schedule, which is why I was pleasantly surprised that they did the job in good faith). Then when I tried to explain that I was happy with the work but that I didn't appreciate his rude follow up, the professional tone went down the drain. He said he didn't need my business because he was the "BEST in MID ATLANTIC" and would always have work. He said "pay my bill by noon or he would take me to court". Due to his inability to communicate professionally I wrote a check instead of having to deal with him. Call them in a pinch as they are competitively priced, but make sure you sign a contract before you allow them on your property. Otherwise I guess it is your fault for them doing uncontracted work and being paid a week later. Cheers.

Using Goodfellers Tree Service was a great experience. Matt came out to look at our dead, leaning tree to provide an estimate. His estimate was the best price we had seen yet and he was able to set up a time to perform the work the next day! Shortly after he left, we received a written estimate in our email which detailed the exact price we would pay. I really appreciated this clear pricing. Once the team arrived, they worked quickly and carefully to remove the tree without damaging the nearby house, deck, or fence. The truck was maneuvered very skillfully through the yard and through the gate of the fence even though it was a tight fit. They were very efficient and the work was done just as I expected. I couldn't be happier with my experience.

Our experience began with excellent communication; they were exceptionally prompt about scheduling a time to visit our property and generate a quote. The quote priced each task individually so that you could choose which of the services you wanted to have done (take-down, wood removal, stump grinding, etc). The quoted prices were very reasonable; in a few cases matching, and in other cases beating, several local competitor's quotes for identical tasks. The quote / proposal package was very transparent about their flexible payment options, price matching, and insurance information - which is much appreciated. Some companies are less forthcoming about their policies and it saves a lot of time when it's all in a centralized place and you don't have to hunt to find it. On the day of the job, the team was incredibly punctual. When they arrived, we briefly confirmed the scope of the work and they began right away. They were respectful of our property and maneuvered their chipping and hauling truck with surgical precision into our side yard. The two larger trees that they took down were both nestled within surrounding trees of similar size and located within a few feet of fences. One tree was dead, and the other leaned like the Tower of Pisa towards the nearest fence. They carefully brought down sections of the trees and ground up branches and brush. Very professional and efficient work. They also did a fantastic job cleaning and raking up the area. We are so thankful for the positive experience we had with Goodfellers, and look forward to doing future business with them.

First the crew had no idea what they were supposed to be doing when they arrived and even though my husband was at home he was not involved in what I wanted to be done nor was he responsible for instructing the workers on what to do onsite that is the responsibility of the owner. They did not remove the brush pile we discussed and they removed almost all of my flowering bushes that I had not mentioned wanting removed in front of my porch (I didn't want them removed) because they were a gift from my daughters for Mothers Day. They left trash on my property in the form of Monster drink cans (when a trash can was right next to where they were thrown on the ground). They left my gate wide open which allowed our dogs to escape. The owner neglected to inform me during his initial walk through with me that his stump grinding equipment was broken (a part was needed for it to work) and he would not be doing it on the day they removed the bushes and if he had of disclosed this information I would not have hired him plan and simple. I needed this work done and all to be completed at the same time to ensure no regrowth of the stumps and foliage. It was after I complained about the work not being completed the same day that i was made aware his equipment was broken with an unknown estimated date of being able to complete the work. When I contacted the owner further all I got was insults and him blaming me and my husband. This man is the most unprofessional person I have ever met in my life. I would NEVER recommend anyone use him unless you enjoy being called names and being treated disrespectful.

One of the things we liked the most in dealing with Goodfellers was that Matt, the owner, who came out to do the estimate was extremely knowledgeable about trees and he was not pushy about trying to talk us in to more of his company services. He was patient and answered all of our questions and concerns. The other thing we liked was that with their trucks and equipment they were extremely careful getting down our tight driveway. We felt like they treated all parts of our property like it was their own. Truly outstanding! We would highly recommend Goodfellers Tree Service to anyone who needs a great local Tree service company!! Not only did they do exactly what they promised, on time and on budget but they greatly exceeded our expectations. Professional and honest. We will be using them again in the future. Goodfellers was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. They obviously care about the quality of their work. I had a rather large tree in my front yard that was becoming too big for the space. We didn't want to remove the tree but needed it to be trimmed up. I wasn't sure how they would pull it off without it looking to sparse. They really came through. The tree looks great no matter what angle you look at it from. I will use them in the future.

This is the third time Goodfellers has taken down trees for us and we wouldn't think of calling anyone else. We requested an estimate on their web page. Got a call to schedule the estimate within 24 hours even though it was the week before Christmas. Mr. Denson came by and did an on site evaluation of the work we needed done and we received the detailed estimate by email the next day, with options, so that we could choose how much or how little we might want to contract for. Once we approved the work, we were put on the schedule. Crumby weather didn't deter them. These guys are great. We had three large trees removed, some enormous dead branches from other trees, and a dead tree that with any bad winter weather could have fallen on our power lines, removed. When they are finished, you couldn't even tell they had been there. Always respectful of landscaping, health of trees and property and they are very knowledgeable of how to best handle difficult removal issues. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Goodfellers Tree Service and the next time we have a tree issue they will be our first call.

I was 400 miles from home when a neighbor called to say several trees in my yard had been uprooted and damaged in a storm. I called Goodfellers Tree Service. I found all employees from Connie, the office manager, and Matt, who did the work, to be extremely professional and courteous. Matt called when he was on the way to my home and emailed me with an estimate when he got onsite. Connie kept me abreast of the work ..... before, during and after. I would HIGHLY recommend Goodfellers Tree Service.
