Goodfellers Tree Service

After a storm with a lot of tree damage, we had Goodfellers come out. They were the most professional people we had give a quote. They provided a nice detailed quote with clear information. They did a great job and it was great to have a Certified Arborist providing insight into our trees. A year later, we had more trees that we weren't sure about, and Matt came out to look at them and told us the one that was dangerous and explained why others did not need to come down. We trust them and will continue to use them.

This is the second time we have hired Goodfellers to remove a tree. The first time was almost 8 years ago and they were just as quick and professional this time around. Thank you for the good work.

We recently hired Goodfellers to do some trimming of a pine that was close to our house and take down two trees that were intertwined over our driveway. They presented us with a professional proposal to included their insurance information. They got us in quickly and did great work! We will definitely be using them again!

the team worked very quickly to drop the trees and cut the stumps down to a grindable state, but their stump grinder was out of commission and they said they would be back to finish the job, but follow-up calls went unanswered. I am disappointed in the follow-up.

Same day response to request for estimate. Estimate was almost half other estimates we had gotten. Came the next day and removed tree. Very professional, we had absolutely no concerns with having this company do the work. Tree removal went smoothly. Hauled away all of downed tree. Hard working and friendly crew. Matt the owner came out to give me an estimate to have some trees removed. While he was at my home he brought a dangerous tree up that is close to our home. This tree is very healthy but is a type that is known to uproot in a storm and ours is very large. If this tree were to come down it would take out our home and endanger my family. I am so thankful that Matt brought this other tree to my attention. He did not recommend removing the tree just thinning the canopy. Matt and his guys showed up on time and were very professional. I will use Goodfellers for any future tree needs.

Goodfellers came out and evaluated ALL the trees on the property for the first estimate. They let us know ahead of time OTHER issues with the remaining trees. A Maple that was actually 2 trees, grown together, growing in separate directions that the wind was shearing and ripping at every chance. A Willow Oak that needed to have a trim to keep it healthy. FAR MORE information than any of the other SEVEN tree servicing companies we had come out and do an estimate had provided us. They were able to schedule us within a decent amount of time from when we called back to let them know we were planning on using their services. They also kept us in the loop about the standard maintenance time that kept their vehicles in the shop. (It's so so SO great to see a company who will have a direct dialogue with you during vehicle and or tool maintenance that prevents them from making their appointment with you). Day 1 with their trucks and 3 men (owner and 2 employees) took out the dying Oak. It was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit so the guys were able to chop all but about 10 feet of the tree and haul the timber away. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have water available for your guys. It's SO important to keep them hydrated and safe while they service your property! They left their vehicles at the house (we had NO problems with that, neither did the neighbors!) Day 2 was literally the next day and they showed up promptly at 8:30am to begin work, with the same 3 gentlemen. They took out the rest of the Oak. Disposed of that promptly. There was about 2 feet of trunk we wanted to keep solid so we could make a table out of it and they went out of their way to make sure that was left in good condition and rolled away where it would not be mistaken as throw away. They then took down the Pine and attached an metal wire anchor with bolts at the upper portion of the Maple so it could begin to heal and not chafe the bark. The last thing they did was trim about 20% of the Willow Oak. It was wonderful to see the owner up in the bucket doing the trimming. Most owners don't like to get their hands dirty. This guy wanted to be a part of the action! After the trimming they fed the pieces to the shredder machine that threw the mulch into the attached truck. They armed themselves with rakes and leaf blowers and did a bang up job at cleanup. They went into our neighbors yard and cleaned up all the debris. I kid you not, he was THRILLED at how well they cleaned up; they even put all the boards back up on the fence! They have dogs are really appreciated the extra care to ensure the dogs would not escape. They tried to pick up the smallest piles of leaves and twig trimmings as efficiently as possible. Blew all the excess leaves off the ENTIRE yard. We have a quarter of an acre. That was wonderful to see that level of detail to ensure they left a minimum trace. While they were cleaning, I had the back neighbor pop his head through the fence to get a card. He had been watching them the last 2 days and wanted to use them to remove his Sweet Gum tree. THAT to me says a lot. Day 3 they came back with their stump grinding machine. We had to remove a portion of the fence, as the Oak was interrupting and spreading into the neighbors yard, but not a problem for us. They ground the stump out. They do NOT chase roots, so you're kinda stuck with those until they decide to degrade... They also ground the stump of the Pine. Absolutely outstanding, respectful gentlemen. Very wonderful to see the same group come back day after day. I highly recommend these guys to service your property for tree removal or tree trimming. Let's face it. I'm NOT a certified arborist and I can pretty much guarantee anyone researching is not one either. Let these guys take care of your trees to ensure they stay healthy and give you shade and aesthetic pleasure to your home for years to come. Anyone can get a pull saw on an extension stick and take out trees limbs that are about the size of your finger... but it takes a dedicated professional to assess your entire property, show love to ALL of your trees and make sure you are nothing less that completely satisfied before they leave. Goodfellers is that dedicated professional you want at your home.

They were very professional and did a great job. Cut,trimmed and cleared wood and branches in about 90 minutes. Highly recommend.

Our tree is very old, but was dropping branches and was looking a bit scruffy. Matt recommended that we deadwood the tree and reduce the canopy. The tree now looks fantastic, and is much safer. We're very happy with the work. Everyone we talked to at Goodfellers was courteous and professional. We plan to use them again soon to remove a tree blocking the view of our gorgeous red oak.

I'm satisfied with the job I hired Goodfellers to complete. Had an estimate in hand within 6 hours of filling out the online request form. Had the job scheduled within less than 48 hours. And the job itself took about 4 hours of work. The guys were respectful, asking permission before driving on any part of my yard -- and did exactly what was expected of them.

Our neighbor was having some trees taken down and we also needed one removed. When Goodfellers came out to quote their job he also gave us a price to remove ours. We have had previous quotes from other tree services and they were the best. Since my neighbor used them before and trusted them, we went ahead and had ours removed. The crew was professional and courteous. They took care and cleaned up when finished. I was also pleased to notice the safety precautions that they took and their communicate with each other. They were trained right. Good job guys and I'll have them back again.

Goodfellers were very quick to respond to my request for a quote, gave me a reasonable price, and made me aware of a 10% discount they were offering. Matt came out and gave me a very good explanation of the scope of the project. He has a very talented team that took down some very large trees in some tight quarters near adjoining fences, a shed, and large deck, all with no damage. They cleaned up the area well and picked up large amount and weight of wood in a timely manner. Will use them for any future tree projects and highly recommend their service.

Great. We've used two other tree services in the area and Matt and his crew were the best by far. From what we can tell, it's a small company. The owner was here for nearly all of it (except stump grinding). He is also the certified tree guy. You'd be hard-pressed to find a provider who knows more about trees. He immediately diagnosed the problems and was very clear whether something should be removed or not. Pricing was consistent with others and that's all you can ask for.

Great work. Exceeded my expectation. I had them come out and clear a bunch of brush from my property. Trees that were piled up from my lot and the adjacent lot being cleared a few years ago, along with a bunch of trees I cut down. The did a great job clearing all the trees off the property and removing dead, fallen trees as well. My only complaint is their lack of punctuality. The job was originally scheduled for a Monday when I was off for work. The called me that morning to inform me that they would not make it to the job because their truck was in the shop all weekend and still was not fixed. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that they might not have been able to make it that day. So they rescheduled for Thursday to be there before I had to leave for work. They said they would be there at 9am. I called them 3 times before finally getting a call back at 11am saying they would be there at 2pm.....after I left for work. So my wife had to deal with them alone while watching our toddler while I was at work. Just very unprofessional to be that off with times. But the work was very good.
