Bowen's Chimney Sweep

I wish i could tell you how great the work was. I had George come out and inspect our chimney on June 22. Two weeks later, i hadn't received estimate for work so i reached out. I received a quote on July 5, which i promptly accepted and asked to be put on the schedule. I have yet to hear back from them/him. Calls to the phone number (540-379-4949) and emails ([email protected]) have never been responded to. I would love to give them a chance to do the work. Are they still in business? I only selected that i would hire them again because i need to get the work done.

It's awesome, if you made a schedule, he will come and very professional. I will recommend them to others.

I had Bowen’s install a Regency insert over 10 years ago. Since that time Bowen’s has cleaned my chimney annually without incident. In the fall of 2017, I had him come out to clean the chimney and told him about a cracked baffle. He advised me that he got the serial number off of the insert and would handle it. Since then I have contacted the office to inquire on the status, but my calls have not been returned. I spoke with a woman at the office on one occasion who told me to call the owner’s cell phone to speak with him directly. I called several times and left messages, but they were not returned. Unfortunately, I have to go through Bowen’s for the warranty work as he sold me the unit, otherwise I would handle this myself and be done with it. I’ve tried to give Bowen’s the benefit of the doubt, but after over 6 months of calls/voice mails not returned, I’ve given up. I would caution anyone against dealing with Bowen’s.

George was very prompt, professional, and courteous. He and his help worked quickly and cleanly to complete the job on the agreed upon date and for the agreed upon price. I would gladly do business with him again.

Mr Bowen and/or his staff failed to respond to multiple phone messages.  I know of at least 3 others that had exactly the same response.

Mr. Bowen completed all work in a timely manner.  He was very professional and personable. I haven't had any leaking or other problems with the chimney or either fireplace.  I would certainly call him again if I had any type of problem with my chimney or fireplace. He was forthright and explained the problems to me, and told me the final cost before starting the work.  The cost for the work was very fair. 
While Mr. Bowen was here to assess the problem with my fireplace, he fixed the damper on my downstairs wood stove (at no charge), and told me it had just gotten rusty.  (Another person I called to look at it gave me a really high estimate and said it would have to be replaced!)
Mr. Bowen had also previously solved another problem I was having with smoke coming back into the house, due to the two flue openings on the chimney being the same height.  He quickly fixed that problem by raising one of the flue openings an extra 6 inches by installing a flue extension, in March 2015.  Also very fairly priced, and I am happy with the results. 

From the time of the estimate all the way to the installation George knew what he was talking about and doing. He gave a fair (competitive) price for the install and did a fantastic timely job that looks great. I recommend anyone in need of chimney services get estimates and talk with other companies first and then talk to George and you will see/hear a HUGE difference (from the way he speaks with you over the phone until the job is done). I called several places for estimates and he was the best and priced similarly to others.

Work is incomplete waiting for the new part. Mr. Bowen is a great craftsman. He has worked for us repeatedly for several years. He is thorough, honest and has the highest work standards.

They're very reasonable and they're very cordial. They didn't charge me for it and once you're a customer, they maintain some relationship and come right out as they can. Sometimes the waiting is a little long but if they can do it right away, they will. They're incredibly professional.

He arrived on time and was thorough and very knowledgeable.

He vacuumed everything except the inside of the woodstove .. Should have done that..

The provider was professional and knowledgeable and I felt that he did a good job. I knew I needed a repair and was not surprised when advised that chimney would not pass home inspection with crack. The provider offered me several options to fix it. Also, the handle on my front storm door came apart and the provider fixed it for me! Above and beyond service.

We only spoke on the phone and couldn't make our schedules work at the time.

Great. They were professional, on time, and thorough. They inspected the chimney and the cap from the top (I have had chimney sweeps try to do it from inside the house before and the result was a disaster). They even gave us some pointers on our wood burning stove and removed some shipping bolts from the catalytic converter that had been left on by the previous owner.
