When I called, I spoke with a professional sounding answering service, who then transferred me directly to the plumber/ owner Roger Richards. He thought he could get to our house in Springfield between 3-4 pm. and still make it to Ashburn by 4:30 for another appointment. He handed the phone to his office manager -- She said he would still come between 3-4 p.m. and promised to call when they were on their way. My husband came home early to be here.
Mr. Richards did not come that day, but called at 5 p.m. and asked if he could come the following day instead at about 5 p.m. I agreed, but asked him to call this time earlier if plans change. My husband made plans to be home from work again by 5. The son of Mr. Richards came to my door at 3:10 p.m the following day (no phone call). I asked them to return after their next call (also in Springfield) since they were early and I had to leave in 20 minutes to pick up kids. He wanted to at least come in to see what they were dealing with. He ran the water in the kitchen sink for a few minutes. (We've seen no water under the sink -- but a big water stain on basement ceiling underneath). When he found no water under the sink, he went out to consult with dad who was in the van. (I don't know if the son is a plumber). Dad came in and also saw that there was no water under the sink. Dad looked at the stained basement ceiling that was now dry, as we hadn't used our kitchen in several days waiting for the plumber. He asked me to fill out the paperwork so it would be ready when he came back later. I filled it out (my mistake) He also told me that he wouldn't be able to cut through the ceiling to find the leak if it wasn't wet. I told him I was upset, I had waited 2 days for him if he wasn't going to fix it. Father and son were in my house for 10 - 15 minutes total. Water was on only when son was here initial 5 minutes (is he a plumber?) and not at all when father was here. He said he would call the home warranty people when he left.
He did not return (and I had already signed his form since he had me do it in prep for his return -- my mistake).
My home warranty company said I should have run the dishwasher for him because that could be the problem, but there was no time since he didn't come back. Home warranty company said Mr. Richards reported to them that he had checked for leak and found none. My husband just ran the faucet again tonight and went downstairs while it was running and hears the drip inside the wall. Evidently that's all he needed to do, but the plumber did not go downstairs while the water was running. In fact, the water was never running while the father was here.) So evidently this plumber found an easy way to pick up $100 without doing a job and tricked me into filling out his paperwork in my rush.

After placing a call to the number provided on Angie's List, the man, whom I later discovered was Rodger himself, was rude and forwarded me to his business manager. Their responsiveness and availability was quick which I appreciated but there was much back and forth as the business manager and Rodger clearly do not get along nor agree with how clients should be handled.
Upon arrival at my home the first thing out of Rodger was not a greeting nor an introduction but an agitated , "I just tried calling you". I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and invited him in any way. I had a clogged toilet. Rodger brought an assistant whom, if I were to guess from the way that Rodger spoke to him, did not know anything about plumbing. Why I ask was he the one preforming the work? The assistant overflowed the toilet and the two men reached for my nice towels to dry it up, I asked them not to and brought them towels for the job. Rodger kept looking to my two year old and accusing her of clogging the toilet with a toy on his third accusation I told him to stop and expressed that this was not the case. They ended up having to pull the toilet (extra charge) even though it was just toilet paper creating the clog.
The two men with their wet dirty toilet water shoes walked all over my home, even when I asked them to wipe their feet on a provided towel. Rodger received several calls while his assistant worked and he was rude to each person he spoke with including several encounters with his business manager. Utilizing several profanities in front of my child. While retrieving supplies for them Rodger took a call and decided to walk away from the bathroom and onto my child's play mat leaving wet dirty foot prints on the rug my child lays on to play. After all was said and done my toilet was covered with excess from the wax ring, my bathtub was filthy, my toilet seat had a nice new chip in it and I had to scrub the floor the railings and my rug.
While leaving Rodger invited himself further into my home without permission and made himself comfortable at my kitchen table, stepping on one of my child's stuffed animals along the way. Noticing that I was not pleased he asked, "oh yeah, do you mind if I sit here?". The toilet clog was fixed but when they replaced the toilet the tank became loose and it leaked for the rest of the day until my husband was able to come home and fix it himself.
I informed the company of my extreme disapproval and they were professional and apologetic expressing that they understood that this behavior was not acceptable. I have not received any sort of compensation for my experience. I would never invite these people back into my home as they clearly have no respect for it.
*Updated*
I have amended my professionalism grade from an F to a C due to a full refund that I received in the mail. I hope that the intent of the refund was as an acknowledgement of the errors made however the check did not come with any sort of note.

When the repair people discovered another leak, I called him again. He fixed the leak and left. The next day, the repair people were installing insulation (crawl space) under the house and around the pipes. They discovered the pipe was still leaking (same place as the previous day). I called twice before noon but could only get voice mail so later in the day, I called someone else. Eventually, this plumber did return my call (said he just got the message).
I'm not really clear on what happened but I think this is how he explained it: there is something they use to seal the repairs they make and he has to let it set up(?) before using. This is why it was still leaking. So, if he knew this was going to happen, why didn't he do it right the first time?
I thought I'd found a good plumber that charges reasonable prices but I was wrong and will not use him again.
I was referred to them through my home warranty. They responded the next day and fit me in at the end of their workday even though it was across town and well after their scheduled appointments in my area. Their receptionist was truly professional and helpful in keeping me posted on the whereabouts of their team so that I didn't have to wait around at my home. Moreover, when the crew arrived at my home, they quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired my toilet in less than 15 minutes from the moment they entered my home.
3-D ROGER ROOTER PLUMBING, LLC is definitely a company you can trust. Moreover, they are veteran-owned and operated.
We have a floor drain that water comes up out of when there is a clog somewhere, and it goes all over the floor.
I have had many plumbers looking at the same problem as long as I have owned this house, they were never really sure what the problem was. The clog seems to be fixed when they leave, but slowly comes back. Roger tried snaking the pipes in the usual place, but it didn't seem to work. So, he asked if he could cut a pipe and try it from there. After a few tries, he got the clog, and told us how we could take care of it if it happened again. Which should be much easier to take care of, since we know where the problem area is. If I ever need another plumber, I know who to call!
