I have taken my cats to Dr. Thomason at Blue Ridge Veterinary Hospital ever since I moved here in 1998. During that time she has cared for five cats of my own and one injured stray for which I found a home, at a total cost of thousands of dollars over the past 14 years. It was all money well spent.
She has done preventive care to keep young and healthy cats well, treated illnesses both acute and chronic, and done in home euthanasia when it was time to let them go. She has always been available when needed, including by phone outside office hours, and she came in on Sunday once when I was very worried about a sick cat.
The office usually runs on schedule, but not always. That doesn't bother me, because Dr. Thomason has always given my cats and me the amount of time we needed, not a set amount based on the schedule, so I don't mind waiting if she is behind because I know that means someone else needed extra time.
Dr. Thomason is very willing to spend time to explain problems, and is willing to adapt to my preferences. I especially appreciate the fact that she knows what she knows, and she knows what she doesn't know. She doesn't guess, and she doesn't hesitate to refer when something is beyond her knowledge and/or skill.
