Arrived on schedule, examined the locks and quoted a price for the work which was very reasonable.  Replaced old style key deadbolts with turn handle deadbolts, rekeyed the front and back doors so one key opens all of the doors and replaced the inner workings on a shed door lock which had rusted shut.  We have just moved into a newly renovated home which only had one key for the front door so security of the house was our concern.  Who knows how many times the one key for the house had been copied by the previous homeowner and the back door had no key at all. Charles was very professional and made a spare key for my husband to use after he rekeyed the doors and replaced the locks.  They are coming back to rekey our storm doors so they will be on the same key as the front and back doors. Great service, extremely professional and we will do business with this company in the future.  It is great to have one key to open and close every door in the house!.

They were friendly, helpful and were able to come out on the same day.  The person who come out to do the job called me 30 minutes ahead of time so that I would not have to wait around.  The whole thing went smoothly.

We called on a Sunday afternoon, and the owner's son came by later that afternoon to do the job, even though it wasn't an emergency. It took just a few minutes, and he was very pleasant and professional.

My first complaint was on the day of installation.  I called the installer back to tell him I was having too much difficulty turning the newly installed top bolt.  He said he did the best he could and that the door insulation was preventing an easier turn.

The problem I had was focused on overall company policy reflected by the phone person/scheduler.  On August 3 my bottom re-keyed lock mechanism failed and I could not even fit the key in the lock upon returning home.  Not having the receipt, I called a similar named company from a neighbor's phone.  This was an emergency number but NOT the same company.   The receipt said Allied Locksmiths although the phone book said Arlington Lock 24 hour.  In that emergency situation I was just glad they responded  and had someone to me in 20 minutes.  The responder said the failed mechanism for the reset key lock was a common problem.  He installed a "traditional" lock to fit the same key.  When I told him about the difficult top bolt he corrected that by drilling an improved hole.  The bop bolt lock was now improved a100 percent.  I called Arlington Lock, 6201 Leesburg Pike, Suite 1, 703-534-4400 the next day not expecting a reimbursement since I had used another locksmith in my emergency.  The male voice usually answering calls told me that since they had "re-keyed" the failed lock and did not install the original,  that it was nother responsibility that the lock had failed.  Sensing already the lack of responsibility, I moved on tto the top bolt lock installed by them but corrected by the emergency responder.  The Arlington Lock man said I should have called to complain about the problem and I said I did.  He moved on to blame me by not having talked to the owner, Mr. Barton about my problemwhen I called to complain ( rather than his lowly unqaulified paid workman?)  Frankly, I am not timid about asking for the man at the top, but these days you have to pick your battles -- just too many of them and I gave this employee the benefit of the doubt.  The Arlington Lock man  took my name and phone number and said he would inform Mr. Barton of my experience. Suspecting  my information was going into his very important round file I called back infumed that his company was taking no responsibility, and that I wanted to tell Mr. Barton that.  He became more beligerent and said he was no longer talking to me and that I COULD NOT SPEAK TO MR. BARTON!!  You never know the true professionalism of a company until you need follow up assistance.
Response from Arlington Lock Inc
"I am sorry you had a bad experiance with a broken lock. Steve did inform me of your call, it did not go in the trash. I did call you back the same afternoon and left you a message. Obviously you did not listen too it since I told you I would be in the hospital until noon and you called twice in the morning. Steve's notes indicated the first thing out of your mouth was asking for a refund for something we had no control. I was going to offor you a refund for the lock install that you claim was done improper. I would of liked the opportunity to correct it but was not given the chance. I also was going to give you your Angie's discount which it seems you did not get at the time of service but again you did not give me an opportunity to do either. You called us because of our great customer satisfaction, on Angie's List, to begin with. We do not get these ratings by not taking care of our customers. I do not understand why we were not given the chance to prove it. When Steve said he wished you had gone up the line to Mr. Barton was not to suggest anything was your fault. Steve did say he would not buy something and not be happy with a bad product or service. Unfortunitly you called a scammer locksmith, several are using names similar to ours and other licensed locksmiths. Robert Barton, Owner"

Called Arlington Lock on 7/6 and was able to get a same-day appointment to fix the lock on an exterior door. Charles was our tech.  Diagnosed problem quickly and was able to put a new part inside existing lock hardware.  Family-run business which I like - when the son's owner is providing service you know they have a vested interest in customer satisfaction and the company's success - it shows.  Will definitely use again for any locksmith services.

I called Arlington lock on a Friday morning and got an appointment for a Saturday morning.  Charles was early for this appointment and immediately got to work.  He removed the key from the first lock and replaced the second lock quickly.  In working on my back door he gave me great suggestions as I consider upgrades for my door and lock and how to improve overall security of my door lock.  He  improved the performance of the existing lock by shaving parts of it down so that it was not rubbing.   In a short period of time, I could finally get in and out of all three doors of my old house with ease thanks to Charles at Arlington lock. I would definitely call them and recommend them to others - its worth the peace of mind.

In order to allow me to meet him at my home, rather then wait for his arrival, the technician called me in advance of his estimated arrival time.  A polite young man by the name of Chance changed my locks quickly and professionally.

I was given an estimate on the phone and that was the exact price.  He arrived on time and repaired door old door handles in addition to re-keying the locks.  Now nothing sticks and everything works efficiently.  The service was excellent!

It was late on a cold tuesday night, I was shivering in shorts and a t-shirt, locked out of my home. From a neighbor's, I cheched Angie's List to find a reliable locksmith with emergency hours (I had read Angie's recent articles on avoiding irresponsible locksmiths). When I called highly rated Arlington Locksmiths, the technician answered right away, and met me in front of my home in one half hour. The job turned complicated when he found that my dead-bolt lock had been installed upside down, and that made it impossible to pick it, as the pins went against gravity now. He had to drill out the lock and replace it; at my request, I had him replace another deadbolt and my doorknob locks, then keying all of them to the same key (previously three different keys -- more opportunities for future problems). He then made me the six keys I asked for, and took off the 10% Angie's coupon from the bill, which was sizable - originally $320.00 - because of the basic emergency fee of $150.00, added to the new locks, keys, and extended labor time. Throughout the technician was very polite and professional, and did an excellent job. I would recommend this company highly to anyone needing a locksmith in the Northern VA. area.

To check the pricing and availability, I called and spoke with the person on call after hours for emergencies, and he asked me to call back during regular business hours.  When I called back the next day I scheduled an appointment for later that week.  The technician arrived on time.  He was very friendly.  He was able to oil and repair both locks, the front door (deadbolt and doorknob) and the back sliding glass door, rather than replacing them.  I was charged the minimum service fee ($135).  I asked for and was given the angie's list 10% discount, too.  He left his card so now we have a good, affordable, responsive company in case we ever have an emergency.

The tech did a great job and completed the installation quickly. He had to drill through the metal door that went very well. However, when he drilled out the hole in the frame, he found it weaker than he thought. So he took the extra step of reinforcing the area with a metal plate. This improvement provided extra security for the house. The tech was friendy and professional.

Chase was punctual and a pleasure to deal with. He was quick with his work. Usually when you get new keys, there's a problem with them sticking or just being difficult. Chase made sure all the keys worked properly.

I had two car keys that I needed to have programmed after I lost my original pair last week. I was very weary of who to turn to in the Arlington area to program the keys. I read about Arlington Lock, Inc., on Angie's List after doing some research and I'm so glad I decided to call them up to take care of my situation! I called at 10 a.m. this morning and they were able to come over at 3 p.m. The locksmith arrived 10 minutes early, which was great! He got to work right away and got the keys programmed and they worked just fine. The price was very reasonable for the work and the serviceman very courteous. I highly recommend Arlington Lock, Inc., to folks in Northern Va. that need an automotive locksmith.

On a Sunday morning I realized we had no car keys. The key was of the type that carried a microchip to defeat theft, and is usually available only from dealer. Called Arlington Lock at noon and little over an hour later they arrived and reprogrammed the anti-theft and cut two new keys. Charge was $95 to come out, plus $40 each for the two keys (which did not have the microchip as far as I can tell) plus $50 to retrieve the keycode from GM, plus $65 to cut the keys. All in all, great service, if a bit pricey. They did take $25 off for the Angie's List coupon.
Response from Arlington Lock Inc
"Thank you for your comments. Just so you know your keys do have a computer chip. We do not charge anything to cut the keys, The $65 was the fee to program the keys to your computer. GM or any code service charges us for the key code which we pass along. I hope this information helps to explain the charges. Thank you for the opportunity to provide service for you."
