We have a house listed that we are trying to sell quickly.  Another agent noticed a smell in the house.  I suspected it was a dead squirrel.  I found Jacob on Angie's list and he was able to meet me at the property in an hour.  He was friendly and very professional.

I thought I had a squirrel in my attic. I got an estimate from ANOTHER company who quoted me over $2000.00!  This other company said the cost would be for a one-way trap, and something called Critter Guard that I would need around the entirety of my roof to protect future rodents from eating around the trap.  This company never went into the attic to inspect anything; the guy just went about halfway up the ladder and after about 5 minutes said that I needed all this stuff.  And also tried to sell me some insulation.   Later on I googled that company's name and found out that they were reported by a local news station for trying to cheat an elderly woman out of $11,000 for a similar issue!
THEN JACOB CAME... and actually went INTO the attic, looked around said there was no squirrel in the attic.  (And also that the insulation looked fine too).  He said the insulation was so good that I probably wouldn't have even been able to hear a squirrel because it would have been walking on the insulation.  It would need to be something as large as a raccoon to make any real noise.  And the noise I'd heard was nowhere near what I'd have expected a raccoon to sound like.
He also looked around the outside of the house and said there was just one place where a squirrel could have gotten in and ran along the gutter (and that was probably what I'd heard) but could not have gotten into the house.
I would definitely recommend Jacob and Destination Wildlife Control.  He was AWESOME!

We live in a town house. Had squirrels in our attic for over two years - mostly active during winter months. We contacted two companies listed in Angies List - first one came and said we need to replace the entire insulation in our attic first, then spray some chemicals to decontaminate the attic etc., then identify the entry points to close etc.... and the total quote was for over $ 3000, after a discount of about $ 700 ... We could see that we are being taken for a ride.. So we contacted another company who was rated high in Angies list - they came and inspected our attic and said that they can eliminate squirrels by placing a trap in our attic and close all entry points for $ 415... so we signed the contract... AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, SPREAD OVER 12 MONTHS, THEY GOT ONE SQUIRREL, BLAMED OUR ATTIC DESIGN FOR THEIR TECHNICIAN'S FAILURE TO LOCATE THE ENTRY POINTS for squirrels and finally abandoned the work in December 2014, at the end of their one year contract period.
Our problems became severe in December and January - thanks to the record cold winter. So, we once again started our search for a reliable company who knew the job - thats when we discovered Jacob. The day we met Jacob, we knew that he is the right guy to do this job. His knowledge on wildlife, particularly about squirrels is impressive, and his approach was totally
opposite of other two companies - he climbed on the roof and immediately identified the entry points, set up a trap, started monitoring regularly, got six squirrels... , blocked the entry points (two of them) and SOLVED OUR PROBLEM !! Plus, he was kind to take care some minor repairs where some spots of our sidings had become loose .
I will recommend Jacob without any hesitation - he knows about wildlife behavior very well (once he showed me a little fox that he had caught and another time a video of Racon...) and more importantly, he is honest, tells about charges upfront (which by the way are reasonable compared to other two companies), friendly and responds to our calls promptly ...

"Thank you for your kind words. Again I want to thank you for your patience when I couldn't finish the job in the time I normally finish a job. I normally finish a squirrel job in a week or 2 at most. This year has been very difficult. I got the flu right after Christmas, then a week later, my Uncle passed away. Then, I couldn't get to the roof because of the wind (I had to put my 40 foot ladder on the porch stairs in order to get on the roof) and after all that I lost an entire month to snow...At least it's all over now. Enjoy your Critter Free Home!!!"

Jacob has been wonderful and even though we used him during that first service he's been back a number of times with Rocky the Raccoon has tried to reenter the house (not the same one - the original critter is no longer with us).  Jacob is  prompt and crawls in places that this former Army guy will refuse to go.  I wish all providers ran a business like his.  Provides us options, executes on time and on budget... and his prices are very competitive.  He's on our speed dial.

My house is now bat-free so I am happy! Arrived first thing the next morning and fixed my problem. Representative said other exterminator recommendations were overkill and not necessary given the evidence of my house. Saved $800 by getting a second opinion by Destination Wildlife.

Jacob was prompt and polite. I had issues with the ridge vents (gaps) near the roof so an inspection was necessary from the roof vantage point. Jacob said it was too windy to go on the roof so he instead used his video camera. I also showed him the problem from inside. All and all, it took Jacob roughly 30 minutes to video the outside vents, discuss his recommendations, and dispose of some hay that may have been used by birds to nest. I then suggested to Jacob that I would also like him to inspect the crawl space for mice entry points. He scoffed at that idea and said that I'll never be able to stop mice from entering. I strongly disagreed with him because I disposed of a mice problem in my other house by sealing the entry points in the crawl space. In my view, the inspection was incomplete, fast and overpriced.
The reason I wanted him to inspect the crawl space was because it was important to me! I also felt that $150 for 30 minutes work or $300 an hour was the poorest way I've ever spent $150. His estimate for running 1/4 screen was in my view outrageous ($150 per vent). It probably would take roughly 30 minutes per vent. I would have done all the work myself had I not been down with a broken foot. I recommend not wasting your money by using this company if at all possible. DO IT YOURSELF!
Finally, Jacob did not give me the 10% Angies List member discount.

Great experience. After our next door neighbor had raccoon issues, I asked Jacob to take a look at our house as I had heard scratching in our attic several weeks before. Jacob was extremely professional and explained what the signs were, what he was looking for and performed an extremely thorough examination of our attic. After finishing... Jacob let me know that while there might have been a squirrel up there at one time... Nothing had been there in a while. He could have told us we needed to clean out our entire attic and redo the insulation... But his integrity is first rate! It's hard to find such honesty these days. Can't give him a higher recommendation!

Jacob was excellent to work with. The repair was so small that he didn't charge us for it which I appreciated. While he was in the attic he helped clean some of the gutters, he did a lot more than we could of asked for. He is a great guy and really helped us out.

He was so pleasant and so nice.  He was responsive and prompt in service.  He inspected everything in the attic and found no signs of any type of animal.  I don't think I've ever used anyone that I have hired that I so felt good about.  I can't praise him enough.  He was very considerate and reasonable.  He went above and far beyond the call of service.

Jacob was a pleasure to deal with. I called to leave a message for service on a Saturday and he called me back the same afternoon! He set up an appointment for the following Monday. He was running a little late but called that morning to keep me appraised, so it was fine. After he arrived, he got right to work inspecting the attic and the roof. His inspection was very thorough and he even pointed out a few trim boards that need to be replaced. Once he was done, he set a trap for the squirrel family and came back each day for a week to check and clear the trap(s). About mid-week, he began the repairs to the roof and by the end of the week the squirrels were gone, the hole was fixed, and I was a happy customer.
I was pleased with Jacob's experience and knowledge; I noted that each day the job progressed a little more and I was impressed to see that he did change the type of trap mid-week when the job warranted an adjustment. His pricing was entirely fair and reasonable and he was extremely responsive and communicative during the whole process. I would highly recommend him and he'll be our first call, if any other furry critters decide to call my house their "home" in the future.

I went to put some baby toys in the attic and what did I see?  A couple of brown bats looking back at me.  I don't mess around with bats as my 10 year old niece merely accidentally touched one several years ago and had to get rabies shots, just in case.  I found Jacob on Angie's List, he came out the next day, checked the attic and there were two bats up there, chilling by the attic vent.  Luckily we had just a couple.
They'd pried through the screen on the vent and were hanging out right near it.  Jacob (with gloves), put them back through the screen and sealed it from the inside.  He then screened it from the outside with a one way escape tube, as one of the bats did not want to leave the outside portion of the vent as it was daytime.  Two days later, Jacob returned, removed the escape tube, and fully screened it from the outside.  Job well done, bats gone.  If we ever have critters again, we will not hesitate to call Jacob.  Prompt, professional, and efficient.  Don't forget to mention Angie's List and get 10% off.

I would highly recommend Jacob and Destination Wildlife Control, as he is thorough in his inspections and will provide advice on how to deal with the problems.  He inspected not only for entrance points, but also for evidence of any animals scratching at the roof or potential entrance points.  I would highly recommend Jacob and Destination Wildlife Control if you are having any issues.

Jacob really knows what he is doing. I wasted many weeks with another company who sealed the live animals in my attic. When Jacob came, he immediately knew that the animals were trapped so he opened a hole out and put a trap on the roof.
He caught few of the squirrels and removed them. And he kept coming and checking for about a week to make sure no other animals are inside. He then sealed the hole. I haven't had any issues since then. I strongly recommend him for any animal removal job.

Jacob was very responsive and professional and knew what he was doing.  When he went up in the attic for inspection he produced a narrated video that he then showed me so I knew what the situation was without getting up there myself.  This was not a quick job and took a couple of weeks to complete but we wanted to be sure that nothing stayed behind before sealing up the "entrances."  The beefing up of the original soffets by Jacob were substantial but blended into the structure.

We heard an animal crying under our deck during the daytime, and found DWC on Angie's List. I emailed Jacob on a Sunday, and was surprised to have him call me back that evening.  I told him I thought it was a squirrel, but he knows his wildlife, and told me it was a raccoon. (The next morning I found a paw print that confirmed it was bigger than a squirrel.)  He suspected the crying by this nocturnal creature during the day may have meant it was giving birth.
He came out on Monday, placed a tennis ball full of male raccoon urine [how did he collect THAT?] inside the hole in the deck skirting to make the raccoon desire to leave, and set up an infrared motion camera.  His goal was to ensure we didn't just barricade the raccoon away from her babies and have them die under the deck. The raccoon and her babies must have left quickly because when he came out several days later to check the camera, there were no good recent images.  Jacob roped up the entrance, and after it was undisturbed for four more days, he came out to repair the deck skirting.  He warrants his repairs for several years.
Sure enough, a few days later in the early dawn light, we saw the raccoon back with what looked like a baby in her mouth.  She hasn't come back since - but a few days ago our neighbors 10 houses down the street spotted a raccoon with something in her mouth skulking around their house.
Jacob charges $250 for coming out and setting things up, $100 for repairs, and $100 per adult animal he removes, with a 10% discount for Angie's List members.  I guess I would have preferred he caught it, but I primarily wanted it out from under the deck, and he successfully accomplished that.  Probably one of the local foxes will catch it.
If I have another varmint or critter problem, I will call Jacob again.
Response from The Master Trapper Inc

"Thank you for taking your time to give DWC a review. Raccoons often have their babies in difficult or impossible places for humans (or other predators) to get to. Eviction fluid makes the mother feel threatened in those areas and she will move the babies on her own, resulting in less damage that I have to do to reach them. I want to apologize again for not remembering that you were an Angie's list member. I get customers from several different sources and forget to ask."

They were very professional. They crawled in the attic and looked around. I got another estimate, and I didn't get the job done because it was just way more than I wanted to spend on the problem. They came out, showed up and outlined what was wrong. They were very detailed in their approach. I think they know what they're doing. I probably wouldn't use them in the future, because I don't need that full-blown of a remedy to my problem. I needed more of a handyman approach.
Response from The Master Trapper Inc

"Thanks for your review of DWC. The reason we charge what we do is that we often have to come out several times (to set and check traps and do repairs). Our goal is that when we leave the final time, you don't have to call us back because another animal got in. When we do the inspection, we are looking to see what animal is getting in, where the animal is getting in and where else animals might get in in the future. We take pictures (and sometimes videos too), give an itemized estimate for damage repairs and let the customer decide if they want us to do all of the repairs, some repairs, or if they just want to have someone else do the repairs. Any repairs we do have a 3 year guarantee against animals getting back in that area."

After I told him the problem & pointed to a hold that my husband saw to the left of one of our bedrooms Jacob went up on a ladder. After inspecting the problem he explained that there was a bird nest on one of out soffets. HE said he would have to cut into it & then would patch it so nothing else would be able to get in..He did it!!!! He was amazing. I would use him again in a heartbeat. He was an absolute pleasure!!

Jacob was super responsive and did an awesome job quickly trapping and removing the mother raccoon and her three babies that had moved into our attic.  He even provided video so we could see how the raccoons got into the house and where they were living in our attic.  He was very friendly and informative.  He also had wire mesh installed on our roof's gable vents so we could avoid other animals getting into the house.

Perfectly!  Jacob is a very personable guy, that totally knows his business and seems to care deeply about the job at hand.  He explained the situation thoroughly and provided every detail of his plan of action to solve the problem.  He located the entry location, identified the culprit to be a single raccoon, assessed the damage done to AC ductwork, planned the removal, and after capturing the intruder, secured the entry and another possible access point.
When the raccoon was captured, he came out that same morning to remove the carcass, was very prompt, and pleasant about the whole process.
I found Jacob great to work with, very thorough, and someone who takes great (and totally justified) pride in his ability to get the job done quickly and completely.  I admire his knowledge of the habits of various wildlife, and mastery of trapping humanely.  Kudos for a job well done, and it was super to interact with him.  I can recommend him without reservation and am grateful for his expertise and skill, and for getting the job done so quickly.
If you are looking for an experienced professional who makes unpleasant work a pleasant experience, then look no further than Jacob!
