I travel from Arlington to Rye Smiles for Life in Fairfax, VA for all my dental needs to include dental work, whitening, cleaning, and sleep appliance. I pass up many dentist offices, but it is definitely worth the trip. I constantly receive compliments from family, friends and total strangers about how my teeth are so beautiful. Dr. Rye is continuously staying abreast of the dental industry and is considered a top dentist in which I’m happy to be the beneficiary of such excellent dental care. His dental assistants and hygienists are absolutely fantastic in ensuring that your teeth get the best care! I highly recommend Dr. Rye to exceed in taking care of your dental needs!

The results have always been excellent. Dr Rye is meticulous in his work, seems to always strive for perfection and stays abreast of the latest treatment procedures. My Dentist Saved My Life- True Story I was scheduled for wisdom extractions 4 at one time...(ok so that was the real problem) ...thought I was strong enough to handle it. But as the appointment was near, I was terribly anxious. I have real dental anxiety- and the thought of 4 extractions was taking me over the top. Thankfully before starting to medicate, the staff checked my blood pressure. And they checked it again and again. And Again. I knew something was wrong. They began asking questions... and I looked over and saw that my BP was 200/100. I left immediately and went to the ER for treatment - this was not dental anxiety- it was confirmed - I have High BP and was walking around in STROKE range. No Symptoms. After treatment in ER, I followed up with my Primary Care and now, it has taken several months but I am managing my BP with medications and I am in the normal range. I HAD NO IDEA! None. I appear totally healthy. High Blood Pressure is truly the silent killer. If Dr. Rye's team had not followed protocol that day- who knows what would have happened. Oh but wait...this is a review about dentistry. Rye Smiles for Life is the perfect dentist for me. For You. For anyone seeking professional quality dental care. And if you have had the opposite...you know what I mean. Quality -Professional -Compassionate-Experts. The staff is welcoming, the ambiance is on point, there is no wait- although the waiting area is full of great magazines, I can never read one article...before I am called in for my appointment. Did I mention I have terrible dental anxiety- I have terrible dental anxiety- and they care for me, understanding what I need to make me comfortable, including premedication...whatever makes me comfortable. Dental techniques change over the years, and this office maintains the latest equipment, and knowledge. I don't know exactly what they do when I am in the chair - thanks to the pre-meds, I see stars the whole time...but I do know that I have healthy gums, bright strong teeth, and a wonderful smile for LIFE!

This latest visit was just a routine cleaning and things went well.

For years I hesitated to smile for a range of issues and that is no longer a problem.

My wife and I began seeing Dr. Rye almost 20 years ago. The service, attention, and results we've received all these years have been exceptional. Dr. Rye is a consummate professional and passionate about every detail. His staff are equally capable and devoted to their customers. During the last year, we have both undergone a complete smile makeover that delight us and everyone we share a smile with. Dr. Rye's expertise with Oral and Cosmetic surgery is without comparison, in my humble opinion. Dr. Rye determined the cause of our daughter's pain and adjusted her bite accordingly. We had been to numerous dentists/orthodontists prior to seeing Dr. Rye but none were able to adjust her bite properly. Wish we had seen Dr. Rye earlier!

He is a wonderful dentist and his hygienist is excellent as well. I've gone there for years. I'll keep on going.

His prices are a bit high, but he does excellent work. The staff and facility are also great.

My whole family goes to them and they take care of all our dental needs. They do very good work. We have been patients with them for about 10 years now. The staff and hygienists have been excellent.

It went flawlessly! I was greeted by a friendly face and (since I was a few minutes early) directed to the waiting area. I was offered the channel changer to select the channel of my choice! I was directed to the hygienist's chair and immediately placed at ease, Being a little thirsty, offered a cold bottle of water. Having used the friendly, professional staff for over 7 years, I have a personalized "Dental Hygiene Plan". I had 2 cavities that we were "watching", they grew to the point where it was advised to have them removed and filled. Again, the staff is focused on the comfort of the patient. I received a topical agent and a few minutes later, Dr Rye injected the anesthesia for the procedure. I NEVER felt the injection! A few minutes to wait for the anesthesia to take effect, and the two cavities were expertly prepared for filling, and filled, Dr. Rye uses a filling material that very closely matches natural teeth. You would be hard pressed to see the fillings! I whole-heartedly recommend the entire staff at Rye Smiles for Life for anyone seeking expert dental care with a Grand Master Dentist!

I started seeing Dr. Rye a year ago, and after working with many dentists for the past thirty years, was a little skeptical of whether he could help met. But one year later I can truly say that Dr. Rye not only helped me, but he stabilized my jaw joint, he stopped the pain, and fixed my teeth so that I could finally chew my food without a lot of spaces in between my teeth. His staff is top notch, friendly, welcoming, helpful, and have all gone way beyond my expectations. I can only say that I would recommend Dr. Rye and his staff to anyone who has teeth/jaw issues. He deserves nothing but praise. I have my life back after almost thirty years of suffering.

I could not have asked for a better experience. Dr Rye and his entire staff were friendly, thorough, and always made me feel safe and secure in their care. They were supportive and answered all my questions. Most importantly they never judged and were sensitive to how much information or decision making I was comfortable with at any given time. I appreciate that they took the time I needed to be good with the whole process. In the end, I have the most beautiful smile and have found adjusting to my new full dentures to be so much easier than I has feared. This is truly an example of a time when I wish I hadn't waited so long. I highly recommend Dr Rye and his team for any major dental work.

Dr. Rye gave me his second opinion which was adjusting my teeth griding instead of having root canal procedure that was given by the other dentist. Fixing my teeth griding was coming to the dental office three times for $800.00. My insurance, BCBS didn't cover much for the dental procedure. However, it was very expensive than I expected, so decided to wait to see my primary dentist in Arizona for Christmas time. So I didn't go back to Dr. Rye, but he made me feel relieved from being worried about my teeth. The other dentist frightened me if I didn't do root canal soon, I would loose my teeth by the end of 2013. Now, 3/31/2014, I still have my teeth. After fixing my grinding my teeth in Arizona, I have no pain and am doing good. If I had a good dental plan insurance, I would definitely go back to Dr. rye.

He rates real good with everybody. If I was standing at my kitchen door, I can look out and see his office. He is literally on the other side of the block from me. That was an off shoot of my wife's problem because my dentist used to be about five miles out. I discovered that Dr. Rye was a regular dentist, so I decided I would go there. I dislike that he is the highest priced dentist I've ever been to. I like that it's a family environment; we don’t feel like we are in a doctor's office. His waiting room is like my living room; it's just more chairs. His staff is very friendly. They seem to be up on the latest trends in medicine. We rarely have to wait more than a minute or two once we walk in the door. We don’t have to sign in, because they know us. I never sign in. It's very friendly. They have all the toys that the dentist charges us for, and they use every one of them. With regard to availability, he is a one man practice and he is very popular. I am going back in June. I will definitely use them in the future.

I've been going to him for a couple of years now. He's professional and his staff is really friendly.

I saw him in July. He is very thorough. He is very professional. He is very careful. He takes times to explain things. His office is spotless. His dental hygienist is wonderful.

He is knowledgeable and I love his hygienist. He is also very accommodating and receptive to emergencies.

I've been going to Dr. Rye and his hygienist Lou for years. The staff is always very friendly and professional and the office is very clean and uses the latest technology. It is obvious that they continue to stay educated on what is new in the dentistry field.

I have been seeing Dr. Rye and his hygentist, Annie, for years. I have had routine cleanings, filings etc. I also had the in office whitening done and loved the results. Probably more importantly, when I first started seeing Dr. Rye several years ago I was suffering from cronic headaches. It turned out is was a result of several factors, including grinding my teeth at night. Dr. Rye was able to pinpoint the problem and work with me to significant reduce the number of headaches I experience. His office is a bit of a drive for me, but worth every mile.

Personal history was taken, full X-rays pictures were necessary to evaluate dental health , each process was explained by the friendly and professional staff. Dr. Rye was around to answer questions and made sure I was fully on board with the evaluation and recommendations . I have recommended Dr Rye to friends and continue using him as my personal dentist.

Annie has performed cleaning for several years and she is excellent. Thorough cleaning, good advice on the care of teeth and gums. She is friendly and has a wonderful personality, makes you feel like part of the family.

He is fantastic. I have been using him for years. It is the best dental experience I have ever had, from the moment I walk into the door. It is a minimal stress environment. The staff is always pleasing and they are happy to see you. They know who you are when you walk in. They have nice soft music playing in the background and comfortable chairs in the waiting area. They have stellar equipment. I looked up some of the equipment after I went in and I saw that it has only been out for a little while. It worked great and I understand what he’s doing. The x-rays are so good that they use just enough to just see the tooth; they’re not reading the whole head. It is top of the line x-rays, top of the line pictures of your teeth, and top of the line fillings. Soup to nuts, it is very comfortable. He is a Grand Master Dentist. He is an A+.
