Carpet that they brought to replace the piece in the closet was MUCH darker; and the original closet piece that they cut out to replace the soiled carpet was too short.  The seams are breaking away.

Definitely on top of my list to go back to!

The salesman in the Clifton store were knowledgeable and extremely friendly and helpful. Bobby, who actually does all the measurements, was wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this store.

We went to Clawes based off the positive reviews on Angie's list, and the fact that other local providers had less than positive reviews. The initial consultation was good, although way over budget. We wanted to have 2 rooms carpeted and told them our price range and what our tastes were. We picked out a few samples but noticed that all of their carpets were much higher than the other advertised prices from other providers. We took a few samples home to look over them and also shopped around at several different stores. Eventually, we found a very similar Stainmaster carpet from Lowes that was literally half the price of Clawes, although in PET, not Nylon that Clawes was selling. We made several calls and spoke to managers, salesman etc to inquire as to whether they could provide something similar that would meet within our budget. Calls were promised back, NONE were received. Every time we would call back, someone new would promise to return our call. Finally, after weeks of no one helping us, I called back and spoke to a manager about why we hadn't received any info from them, nor calls back. I was informed very rudely that "Clawes is a quality nylon store, and that if I wanted cheap carpet to go elsewhere, but they had nothing for me." FYI, Clawes has quite a selection of PET carpets as well as Nylon. The guy was completely rude, and we ended up going with Lowes instead. I would have preferred to do business with a locally owned store like Clawes, but I refuse to deal with people who try and degrade my decisions and upsell me on something just because they don't want to do a little work to find me an adequate carpet at a reasonable price. The last thing he said to me was, "Most homeowners in this area of town would NEVER put PET in their homes, they prefer quality carpets." That was the straw that broke the camels back. Tacky, classless behavior. If you want to do business, you find what the customer wants and sell it to them. Being rude and snobby because of the part of town we live in is simply unacceptable.

Original quote for carpeting was a little off for what we were looking at, not sure where the confusion came in.  We were looking at a less expensive carpet for the family/game room in the basement and the entire quote was written with this amount in mind.   Did get several dollars off the carpet we chose so were satisfied.  















Salesperson and especially the installer were wonderful.   We couldn't believe they finished all the carpeting in one day!!   They had to move furniture, rip out the old carpeting and padding and then install the new.   They had a wonderful work system in place.  A room was emptied which in itself was amazing because we have a good deal of furniture for the size of our house, and the process continued.   We couldn't have been more delighted having contractors in the home.   They were sure to place the furniture back where it was and verified the location, which made it easy on us.















Kitchen was done in 1/2 day.   They did have to return to re-grout some missed areas but scheduled at our convenience very quickly and completed with a perfect job.

Workers arrived on time and immediately went to work in an orderly fashion.  Everything was done to my satisfaction

Assessment  and installation were done in timely manner. Quality is excellent. Price a little higher than other proposals but happy with  end result.

Installation was arranged several months before needed, and it went off right on schedule, Quality work and materials.

The workcrew was the best I have seen.  We were extremely pleased with the results.  Roy Clawes, owner, came to my home to address a scheduling issue, which he promptly resolved. We strongly endorse Clawes Carpet!

We just purchased laminate from them and installed ourselves.  The price was very good and the people in the store were extremely helpful. It was a very good experience we would definitely use them in the future.

We went to Clawes Carpets to get advice on replacing carpet and vinyl floor covering. They were very helpful in selecting the quality of carpet, colors, and the padding. Recommended was an upgraded Visco Bond Pad. Their choice of vinyl flooring was excellent. A Clawes Carpets estimator came over to the house and put together the cost of the materials and labor. Very pleasant, professional, knowledgable, and helpful. The Clawes Carpet crew showed up about 9am and began by moving the furniture and heavy items in order to remove the old carpet and install the new pad and carpet. They used a special glue to anchor the tack strips in the bedroom. The stretching tools that was used was unique and could work across the entire family room. The quality of the carpet and the installation work was outstanding. We had vinyl flooring put down at the front entrance and at the entrance from the garage. Installation required removal of old vinyl and tiles. The quality of the installation is superb.  All of the work, to include clean up was completed by 4pm. We are very pleased with our new carpet and vinyl and the installation by Clawes Carpet. We will be going to Clawes Carpets for all of our floor covering needs.

Working with Clawes Carpet has been one of the most pleasant experiences in many years of working with contractors and service providers.  They really know their products and provide excellent advice on what products to choose for each specific need.   For example, we planned to replace all the ceramic tile on the main level of the house with hardwood, but they advised us to leave the ceramic tile in the kitchen (which was newer and in far better condition than the other tile we had) and to use a special high grade decorative vinyl tile under the washer and dryer to reduce noise transmission from the washer and dryer.  This would also minimize the potential for damage to the hardwood flooring from drips when loading and unloading the washer and dryer.   Since the washer and dryer are behind a set of doors that close it off from the hallway leading to the powder room, this discontinuity in flooring is hidden by the doors and looks fine.   Just one of the many examples in which they provided excellent advice on product choice and application.
Their installation crews were experienced and highly professional.   They moved all the furniture, taking excellent care to prevent any damage, and cleaned up completely when finished with the installation.   The carpet and hardwood flooring look great and we love the new, updated look it gives to our house.  When we discovered one defective board a week after installation, they came out immediately and replaced it.   We are very pleased and would highly recommend Clawes Carpet to anyone needing to replace or upgrade the floor coverings in their home.

It went very smoothly and the results are excellent. We plan to use Clawes again for our family room and kitchen. Clawes was also very helpful in assisting us with deciding on which carpeting we wanted. I recommend them very highly.

The 2 guys that did the installing did a wonderful job.  I was very happy with the finished product.   They cleaned up afterward and were very professional.  I would definitely use them again..

My experience with Clawes Carpets, Inc was fine. I had no problems with them. The installation was very well done, good quality wood. The only thing I didn't like was when you order things they don't give you an invoice. They don't give you like a written estimate or anything like that. So there is no way to document what they are supposed to do versus what they actually do. I think they accomplished everything they were supposed to do. It seemed like that part was not quite right.
