Exceptional. I have never had an unprofessional experience with Vernon. This time Daniel was the technician. The appointment with David was easy to arrange, Daniel came when he said was was going to come, he did an inspection of my furnace and conducted necessary maintenance, he explained the work he did along with leaving an inspection sheet, and knew what he was doing. From beginning to end, Vernon is one of those rare companies that combine service with expertise. When they leave, I also know they back up their service. They also retain their tecnicians, and they have a history of service performed.

I hired Vernon because I was worried about capability of the other company. Vernon is a bit pricey but they do an outstanding job. They came on time, got the job done and it was toasty. They were outstanding in all the categories. They are very good. They also do an yearly check to see if everything is working fine and give me advice as to what I need. With regards to my heating system I would definitely go back to them because you get full value for the price they charge.

On Sunday, 3May2015 at approximately 12:30pm we were visiting our son at The Courts Apartments in Fairfax which is a gated community. We entered our code into the gate controller and waited for the gate to open - one car each code and the gate comes down really fast so you have to move through it ASAP. A Vernon's Heating van came out of the parking lot and cut us off so that we had to slam on the breaks and missed the van by fractions of an inch. It was a very scary and unprofessional move by the van driver and it ended up throwing me into the seatbelt harness so hard my shoulder is bruised. My husband is a multi-combat veteran and has severe PTSD. Angry is not even close to the emotion that Vernon's van driver evoked. I had to plead with him not to follow the guy into the complex and "talk" to him. In my opinion, I would not recommend this company because of the lack of professionalism in it's drivers/technicians. He could have easily just asked us to open the gate for him, instead he put our property and lives at risk.

They are great. There's a plan and they come twice a year. Several years ago, I had problem with my HVAC. I had one company came in and it was a complete disaster. Vernon came in and cleaned up the mess. Everything is perfect. The price seems in line with what I paid in the past. Their professionalism is an A+. I would absolutely use them in the future.

My furnace was making a lot of banging noise...I had called to have my air ducts cleaned..I should start out by saying that I have used Vernon for 15 years and always had perfect experiences with them. The technician came out to clean the ducts and I asked him to check the furnace because of the loud banging noise. He told me that my heat infuser was slowly going bad and if it was banging all the time, it would need to be replaced...if it only made noise some of the time, it could wait. He never explained what a heat infuser was and so in the following three weeks, I called Vernon back three times to inquire about the furnace. Each time, the person answering the phone didn't know and promised me that a technician would call me back. No one ever did. Finally on my fourth try, I had someone speak with me who said I would need a technician coming back out. This time, the senior technician came out and told me that my problem was a heat exchanger not a heat infuser and that the whole system would have to be condemned because with a cracked heat exchanger, it can leak carbon monoxide--so I would need a whole new furnace. He scheduled me for the next day as it is a dangerous situation. He left and I was scheduled for the next morning. As the day wore on, I realized it was getting colder and colder. I called him back to ask if he had turned off my heat...to which he said "yes"...he had to. He had never told me that he was going to do that......so fortunately I had a space heater and could stay warm, but the whole situation was handled badly from start to finish...and if I had just believed the first technician and not done anything, I could be dead...not a happy thought.

The technician pointed out that the capacitor measured 4.7v and should have measured no lower than 5v. I recall that the same capacitor measured 4.7v three years ago at the last inspection. A second part, the igniter, also shows signs of wear and I was offered an opportunity to replace both at $308 for the capacitor and $442 for the igniter. In looking online, the capacitor is under $10 in cost and the ignited is under $30 in cost. The labor cost to replace would have been within 10 minutes of putting the original parts back in the furnace (assuming 10 minutes to retrieve the parts from the van). Hence, $750 for and lt; $40 in parts and 10 minutes of labor is outrageous. Considering that I paid $90 for the 30 minute inspection, they were already fairly compensated. The reason for my post is that, as a former electronics technician, I knew the value of the parts in question and knew better than to agree to these outrageous prices. However, if I were not educated in this area and a low income wage earner, paying the combined $830 for this service could have meant taking food off of the dinner table for the family. I'm sure the counter argument is that replacing these parts required some dis-assembly to get access to the parts. However, as mentioned above, the parts were already out and in the technician's hand at the time of the quote (paid for in the inspection fee). These prices are very high if the parts were being replaced on a service call, but outrageous if already removed during an inspection. Businesses have a right to earn a healthy profit so they can be there when we need them. However, this level of profit would have been excessive and unwarranted.

I have always had the best service from Vernon Heating and AC and would not want anyone else. They come to my house each Spring and Fall to do maintenance checks. Today's check was done by Clayton and he did an exceptional job of checking my complete system and explaining the results to me and my wife. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for this type of service! By the way, they are very careful not to track in any dirt by always wearing shoe covers when they are in the house. Also, their office staff is very easy to contact and has always been very responsive to our requests for service.

The service turned out fine and I have had a service contract with them for the past four or five years. They are professional and put their booties on and all that stuff. They were neat and considerate. I don't know how much it would have cost if I had gone with another company. I got the next-to-most expensive company.

We have a plan with them where they come to check up our system twice year. We have had them for about four years and it is just automatically set up to pay. Nothing stands out. We have just been with them so long we stay with them. Actually, I am thinking about switching. My interactions with them have been fine. They are professional and show up on time. They are clean and neat. Their price is a little bit on the higher side from what they offer.

We used them on our maintenance agreement so I guess they are good. They come twice a year to look at the furnace, air conditioner. If we have any problems, like, once I thought we had a problem with the air conditioner. They came and gave us priority when we have their agreement. Luckily for me it turned out to not be anything. I don't have any dislikes. They put my furnace in about 8 years ago and we have been with them since.

My experience with this company was just fine. We canceled our contract with them about 16 to 18 months ago. Prior to that time we had a service contract with them.

I have a service contract with them, so I pay a certain amount every month, which includes two checkups a year. They have just been very professional. No company is perfect, but I had a very good experience with them. They did put a humidifier in about a year ago, but I was not happy with, the installation was fine, it was really working and doing what it was supposed to do because I don't think the location of it was good. I had two conflicting reports between different people within Vernon about my duct work was kind of difficult to work with and I decided I didn't want it anymore because it wasn't worth having it there and they came back and took it out and give me my money back. The price was reasonable.I would use them again in the future.

The person who did the work was very polite, tidy and right on time. He did exactly what we asked and understood and answered some pretty technical questions, so I would certainly recommend him.

It seemed to me it was more of a marketing-type thing as opposed to maintenance. I usually think of maintenance as somebody making some minor adjustments and do a little adjusting as opposed to telling me I need this, that and the other thing. I was not interested in it. My interaction with them was alright; I have used them for years. I thought their price was kind of high, but I did not have anything to compare it with. They did not do anything other than telling me what I needed.

They come towards the end of summer to check the furnace to make sure it is going to be okay for winter. It costs $167 yearly for the two yearly maintenance calls.

We found a very capable repair person within the company and we always have that person do our repairs because early on there were some issues, inexperienced AC people but for the most part, our overall impression is they have qualified people. It's just that you have to understand who steps at your door. They're maybe a little bit pricy. I've never gotten other estimates. The quality of the service we've found our best air conditioning service person within the company. He's excellent. He is super knowledgeable, super good. He is an outstanding technician. It took us a while to get there but now that we're there, we don't do anything without that individual coming out here to do the work. The quality of the work is excellent. The quality of his work is outstanding. They've always been pretty responsive. They give you a window when they're going to be here and they've always been here. They will call in advance which is good also to let you know that they're coming which is also a plus. They are always on time. Now that we found the technician who we completely trust, we're sticking with it. They use booties when they come in your house so they keep it clean. They always clean up after themselves.

We have been doing business with Vernon for a number of years and have been very happy with them. They are always very careful and explain to us everything they do. They are thorough and back up their work. If we have ever had a problem they come right back out to see what is going on. They show up when expected and do a good job. I would not say they go above and beyond or anything like that, but I don't know how you would go above and beyond on something like that. It is basic service on a furnace and we believe in having them come out and do the checkups so that we will avoid problems down the road. Fortunately we have not had any. I think they were the company that installed this unit. We have been extremely happy with the unit and their recommendations for the install. The unit was put in very professionally and looks good; it is not an eyesore. All that work was done very neatly and nicely. When all was said and done we saved money on our monthly bills because they made good recommendations for us. We have no complaint about their price and have never had a problem with their responsiveness.

It was excellent. I've had a contract with them for 9 years for 2 different locations. They are exceptionally responsive. They are very reasonable. We do an annual gold level contract so there is no charge to come and look at something. Obviously there is a charge if they have to replace something. I don't have a lot to compare the price to. They always call ahead of time and let me know exactly where they are. I will absolutely continue to use them.

They provide extraordinary service. I've used them for almost 40 years. I love them. They're great. One thing that stood out is their prompt response. I have a regular mechanic that knows my house. You have the same person show up.

Their last visit was a good experience. We have a relationship with them that gives us a discount when they do come here.

I've used them for 25 years and after the third unit went, I'm just sick and tired of it. For the 25 years I was using them, they weren't bad. They were dependable. Their program I thought was good, but I just said enough. They were not bad, but they should have been fighting for me. The thing that was even more amazing when I canceled nobody managed me and called me. Their price for annual maintenance plan I had was very good. Quality, I'd give them an "A" because they did come out with the plan I had being a priority service. For the particular calls, they were responsive for working special, placing with carrier they were bad. So, it was hard to say. Overall, it would have been an "A", to that particular incident was a "D".

I use them a lot. They are very good. I have a contract with them on my HVAC system. I've used them for years.

The experience and the company was very good. They were referred to me, that's why I used them. They are very thorough and did not try to take advantage of me because I was a woman. I believe they are honest and upfront. They were slightly higher, but the service was excellent.
