I couldn’t be more pleased with the professional service during my install. The installers were on time and did a fantastic job. And cleaned up after the job was completed. I would by appliances based on the service alone. I hope this information is helpful to someone. Good Luck! Happy Customer.

Shopping for used appliances. Their ad says they have quality used appliances. When we visited the store, they tried to sell us appliances priced over $1,500 saying they don't ever have used appliances. Their salespeople are extremely rude and unproffesional. Checked their website, again states they have used appliances. Sent a contact asking about prices of used appliances. Received an email 3 days later saying they don't sell used appliances.

My Maytag Refrigerator/Freezer Went on the fritz. I called Danville Appliance Sales and Service to come fix it. I was informed in my initial contact with them their service call charge was $75 and their labor charge was $50.00 per hour. I was told a repairman would come that afternoon or the next morning. The repairman called early the next morning and said he would be here between 9 AM and 10 AM. He was prompt and courteous, arriving when he said he would. He was professional in his manner and attire
Within 30 minutes of arriving, he had diagnosed the problem as the relay switch on the compressor which would cost around $100.00 to fix, but advised us there was still a possibility the compressor might need to be replaced which would be a $700.00 job. He ordered a new relay and advised it would arrive the next afternoon and he would be here the morning after its arrival to install it. True to his word, he did just that. This is “The Good”.
“The Bad” occurred when he arrived promptly at the agreed upon time and upon installing the new relay, discovered the compressor was ‘locked’ up, despite checking out as okay in his initial diagnostic visit. This assessment took 15 minutes. He then informed me it would be $700.00 to replace the compressor and that “would cover everything; service charge, labor and parts. When asked what the part actual cost (the compressor kit) was, he replied the $700 would cover all. Asked again, he responded the same, “$700.00 covers everything for the whole job.”
“The Ugly” happened after I called the shop and asked what the part cost was. I was informed the part cost was $425.00. Red flags went up as I had researched the part cost online and told the shop they ranged from $295.00 to $320.00 online only to be told that was “wholesale only, “I” could not buy parts for that price and their price represented wholesale cost plus markup (this is not true as there are many places one can buy parts online without being a business). I AGAIN requested their rates for labor and service call and was again told $50.00 per hour and $75.00, respectively. Subsequent to that conversation with the shop, the repairman called and upped the estimate to $778.00. When asked if he could get it back to the original $700.00 estimate, he called the shop. When he called me back, he told me they could not do anything to change the revised estimate as “the labor was already discounted from $150.00 and hour. What?
Long story short, avoid this shop like the plague. I question their integrity. I do, however, give props to the repairman for HIS honesty, professionalism, and desire to work with us. The repair place we ended up working with saved us almost $440.00 over this shop’s estimate. We spent $340.00 for the same repair this shop would have charged us $778.00 for AFTER they jerked us around. After all was said and done with this company, I was only charged the service call fee. I will never call them again and I would never recommend them to anyone for service. Their sales may be fine: this review addresses only the 'service' aspect of their business.
