I called the company to come out and do an estimate, which they did for free, and fairly promptly. The man came out, stalked around my house for about ten minutes and left, saying he would mail me the estimate by Friday. 2 weeks later- no estimate, they won't return my phone calls, and they're closed during 'business hours' when I call to complain about it. They certainly live up to their name- they're full of hot air!

I called them to come back out to install a thermostat and I made an appointment and they said they would be out the next week. They called the day of the appointment and had to cancel. They were going to charge me $400 to install a thermostat that was a 15-minute install. Then they said that they couldn't get to me after they had already said they could come out. They said it would be the first of the year, which was a month away. There was a total mix-up and they were completely rude. I would never recommend them. It was awful customer service and very over priced. The work that they performed was good but they didn't come to do the second job. I would absolutely not use them in the future.

I called Blue Ridge Heating around 9 in the morning, and the service man came that same day around 1:30. He might have even been available earlier, but I had a morning obligation. The woman who answered the phone and set up the appointment was very professional and curtious. The service man came inside to assess the problem (the air conditioner was turning on, but no cool air was coming out), and then went outside to examine the heat pump. He showed me a damaged part, which he was able to replace that visit, and then asked if I wanted to have more freon added. He was very quick in his work, friendly and professional. I didn't know how much something like this would cost, so I was a little surprised that it was $250. It was worth it to have our air conditioner working again though!

They were able to schedule an appt. for the very next day after my initial phone call. Repairman showed up right on time, did all maintenance and then showed me how to use some additional features of my system. Fixed a minor problem on my gas fireplace. He was friendly and polite, left everything neat and clean, made sure I knew what he had done, what he had found, and answered all my questions. Thanked me and was on his way.

After I installed a new thermostat, I lost power to the thermostat and could not get my heat to turn on. After calling around, Blue Ridge was able to send out a repairman quickly and help me fix the problem.

The service technician was on time and professional. He listened as I described the problem, and then advised what he would do to repair it. He not only made the repair (a simple recharge of the unit's freon which was all I expected), but he further examined the full heat pump system. He did not try to sell any further service or repair as he did the exam, and actually reported that the unit was in very good condition and did not need any further service. He did note that a starting capacitor for the outside compressor was in poor shape. I could see that it was by looking at it as well. He did not try to sell a new one but said that at some point perhaps many years away it would fail. Even though this would have been a simple replacement job for any homeowner to do themselves, I had him install a new one. He gave me a lower than retail price on the component and of course there was no service call charge, as this was included with my original service call, and I have to give the service tech a lot of credit for putting up with me looking over his shoulder! He did it in a professional and educational manner, explaining what he was doing and why.
