Scheduling was pretty easy and they came out within a few days.  They were very pleasant, helpful, and professional.  They were thorough and very good.  Everything went fine.

We interviewed three firms and Simmons was not the cheapest but they seemed to have the most knowledge about installing a system in an older house.  They worked with my schedule on the start date.  They showed up when they said they would and finished on time.  They were in my house for a week and a half.  They had to cut holes in my floors and ceilings throughout the house. They covered all of my floors where they were working and left the house clean each night.

Got 3 estimates for a whole-house generator.  Simmons and 1 other were close in price (the third was $4,000 higher!).  Simmons rep. Tom Patrick was by far the most knowledgeable and helpful.  Every person we dealt with at Simmons throughout the process was professional and eager to help.  The work involved a lot of details like obtaining permits, having a different type of gas meter installed, running the gas line to the back of our house, re-wiring our electrical panel, pouring the concrete pad for the generator, and then installing the generator and making sure it worked properly.  Every step was communicated to us ahead of time and completed as quickly as possible.  At the same time, we were having a deck built, and that required some coordination between the two contractors, which went very smoothly.  (Simmons also ran a gas line to the new deck for our gas grill.)  At one point during the generator installation, I could smell a small gas leak in our garage near our water heater. Even though it was very likely that Simmons did not cause the leak, they took complete responsibility because it happened while they were doing work.  They were very thorough about addressing the problem.  We have not had to use the generator yet, but it has performed its weekly test where it automatically runs for 20 minutes every Wednesday afternoon, and we have been extremely impressed with how quiet it is.Our Generac generator can be monitored remotely, and we took out a maintenance agreement with Simmons so that the weekly test results are sent to them as well as us.  That way, if any problem arises, Simmons will know as soon as we do.  All in all, I could not have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Simmons to anyone considering installing a generator.  (We were so impressed with how this company does business, we also purchased a service contract for Simmons to maintain our geothermal HVAC system.)

Tom was very responsive. The pricing was good and everything was excellent. I had very good experiences with the contractors I had. The panel replacement went very well. You wouldn't have known they were there.

Easy answer is I was more than stunned. With the service you get now a days from most providers I was about to give up the ship. Then Simmons Heating & cooling showed up here (Angie's List) and on the radio. I did all my homework and got estimates from a total of 4 separate companies.  Simmons wasn't cheapest or most expensive either the BIG selling point was Mr.Hugh who did the estimate, he was straight up and patiently answered the numerous questions I had. We scheduled the date and time and good golly they were on time and even called to tell me they were on route. Mr. Hugh even showed up to make sure everything was straight. The installers were Kyle & Julio let me make this easy there's not enough positive adjectives to describe their  outstanding workmanship. Covered the floors , ripped out the old boiler, installed the new water heater, cleaned up and even vacuumed the floors. Even my  Wiener Dog liked them. If you need them this is probably one of the few companies around to restore you faith in American Small business. They made a buck, heck yes but they sure earned it in my book.

They were wonderful and excellent. We have referred them to someone else. Their pricing was right on the market range. We had several estimates done and we were so impressed with them that we didn't have other pricing done the next 2 times we used them.

Our 20 yr old gaspack HVAC unit had been struggling over the past few years, which led us to research what our options were for replacement.  I became very interested in the minisplit systems when it became apparent that new regulations would preclude the placement of a new gaspack unit on the roof, and also that it seemed as though we would be throwing good money after bad when we considered the terrible condition of the existing ductwork.

Although it was pricey, we bit the bullet and contracted Simmons as our choice out of the four who chose to bid on our project.  We have been with Simmons for at least 15 years and have always been happy with the service provided.  Their price on the bid was in line with the other bid, so we opted to stick with the company who has always been there for us.  (The other two companies must not have been interested in taking on the job, since they never came back with an actual bid after the initial consult).

All I can say is that Simmons went far and above what I expected.  They installed the system in five days (three days quicker than originally proposed), were very professional, focused, and obviously took great pride in their work.  Even my neighbors commented on the impressive demeanor of the crew.  I was fully prepared to have mayhem in my house, and am delighted to say the guys left my home clean and ready to go each and every day they were here.

To top it all off, I also must report that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new system.  Words can't describe the difference between my old HVAC and this new Mitsubishi system.  The humidity is simply gone from the house, and I just love being able to control the temperature of each individual room/area.  I'm quite certain I will also love my new utility bills as well.

I would recommend Simmons Heating and Cooling to anyone who is looking for a company who considers you to be an important link in their success.  A happy customer, is a returning customer.

My Ruud HVAC system in about 23 years old.  I have generally used Simmons since they were the ones who originally installed the system.  They have always been able to repair or replace parts, sometimes under a 20-year warranty.  I have not had routine maintenance done for several years because the last time nothing much was done and I was still charged $145.  This time was very different.  The technician took things apart, checking the furnace carefully, and really cleaned the air conditioner unit inside and out.  Although he arrived about an hour late, he did not rush through his work and spent well over an hour working on the equipment.  He was kind enough to explain a lot about the system, which was helpful to me because I know I am close to the time when I will need to replace everything.
I understand that sometimes being late is only due to really careful service being provided to the previous customers, so I really don't think it affected the high quality and thoroughness of the service provided. For customers like me who have to leave work in order to be home for an appointment, this could have been a bigger issue.  Luckily, it was late in the day and I did not have to go back to work.

Excellent. They are a first class company. Hugh Delury was our sales person. Unlike other company's  sales reps, he really knew the engineering aspects of the system.

Workmen were prompt and polite and did an excellent job.  The estimator and supervisor was very easy to work w/. So far the equipment is working great!   The price was a bit higher than some of the other bidders but I'd heard such good things about Simmons' customer service from multiple people, and was just coming off a very bad experience w/ our previous HVAC company, that we were willing to pay more for quality.

Simmons installed our A/C unit 6 years ago.  It was a brand new American Standard unit that they installed and have performed annual maint. on since then.  We have had nothing but problems with this unit to the point that I have written the distributor to complain about the amount of money we have spent on a brand new unit.  We have had to spend money on that unit up and above the maintenance check in the spring (which should've caught some of this) every season since it was installed.  The most recent problem was the weld between the coil and the unit (that Simmons did when they installed the unit).  The weld started leaking freon and the unit stopped cooling.  Simmons responded quickly on a Saturday but did not diagnose it as a leak.  The tech saw that the freon level had dropped and topped the unit off and left.  The next Friday we noticed the unit not cooling again and again contacted Simmons.  The tech this time diagnosed a leak but could not find it because it was late in the day he again topped off the freon and said they'd be back the following week to locate the leak.  They returned the following Wednesday and located the leak in a crack in the  weld between the coil and the unit.  They were not able to fix the crack so ended up having to replace the entire coil.  Fortunately this $1,000 part was still under warranty but they had to order it.  Simmons finally returned the following Thursday and replaced the coil finally fixing the problem.  Prior to the coil being removed, we were told by the technician that the freon that was already in the unit would be bled off and reused when the coil was replaced.  Apparently this did not happen because when we received our invoice for $901.00 the majority of that invoice was for freon and the funny thing was that Simmons included a copy of their maintenance agreement that they have tried to push since we didn't renew last year.  What they fail to tell you is that you pay $400 or more for their annual maintenance agreement which entitles you to (1) furnace check and (1) A/C check, not having to pay the travel charge if they do have to come out and fix something and you go to the top of their maintenance list if they need to come out.  Since not renewing their maintenance agreement, I've used another HVAC vendor who is just as professional and competent as Simmons but whose labor costs are half of what Simmons charges.  Only draw back is they do not have after hours service and our A/C usually chooses a weekend to die.  If we had, had a maintenance agreement with Simmons during this particular repair, it would've only saved me $59 - out of over $900.  Really????  Some of the things we have had to pay for during the A/C season (i.e. clogged condensation line) should've been checked during the seasonal check in the spring.  I was told that was not included when I asked when we had to have Simmons come out, again on a weekend, when the A/C cut off.   Simmons installed that unit new and we've been nickled and dimed every year since it was installed yet they continue to tell me that American Standard is their top of the line unit.  We had a Train A/C at our previous home that Simmons installed new but never had a problem with it for over 10 years that we lived in the house after the unit was installed.  I'm so discusted with Simmons Heating and Cooling right now I can't stand it.  I'm going to pay this final invoice and not have any further dealings with them.  If my A/C stops working on a weekend and I can't get anyone else to come out to work on it until Monday, it will be cheaper for me to go and buy a window unit and just suck it up until Monday.

I called the company monday morning. Hugh contacted me back in the afternoon to schedule an appointment the next day at 8 am. Hugh was on time. As soon as he looked at the inside system, which is located in a very small space, he said that they unfortunately cannot help me. I appreciated his honesty. I would rather someone said they cannot do it, so that neither of us waste our time.

We lost A/C after a major storm. The inside of the house was over 90. We called for service at 3:15pm on a Sunday and Jeff was at our door by 4:15pm. He went right to work diagnosing the problem.  Within 30-45 minutes he had the problem fixed.  He took the time to check the temps coming out of the vents to ensure we were receiving to proper service from our A/C.  Jeff was professional, took the time to explain everything he was doing and it was all done at a very reasonable price.  We were so happy with the service we asked to be put on their service plan. Outstanding Service!

I've used them since 1995.  I have an annual maintenance contract with them.  The quality of their work stands out.  They put on the little booties before they enter the door.  The maintenance contract covers my heating system, the air conditioning system, and the whole house generator.

We cannot say anything bad. We have been thoroughly impressed with their service. They installed a geothermal heating and air conditioning system about 2 1/2 years ago. Whenever we have had any problems they come right out. They wear little booties so their shoes don't track in anything. They have been amazing. We would absolutely use them again.
