Our sales rep was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and quick to respond. The guys picking up on the VA side were good. The delivery in KY was delayed. We were warned that the July 4th holiday would make the delivery later than the usual 7 days from pick up. But, on the last day of the given delivery window, we contacted them to find out when it might arrive and were told another week "probably". The uncertainty and the delay was a little concerning, and altered our move-in plans. We ended up asking them to store our belongings for another 3 weeks and deliver to the house we were purchasing. To their credit, they did this without extra charge due to the scheduling delay on their end. Somehow during the storage time, water got into some of our boxes and there was some mold damage on a few items. (Not enough to file a claim.) The expected new delivery date had to be delayed another day due to the truck driver. The delivery guy they hired on the KY side was great.

We have moved mant times and this was the worst move ever! Things they actually bothered to wrap properly arrived okay, but in many cases they simply threw things in boxes, threw a piece of paper on top, and called it packed! Heavy items were packed on more delicate things. Pots and pans packed with china.

They were on time and were careful to not damage walls. There were a few scuffs that required touchup on the furniture.

What an amazing job! This company did an excellent job moving us. They were prompt, excellent service and absolutely nothing was broken. Their pricing was excellent compared other companies in the area.

My experience went very well. The staff was very professional and took great care of my things. I was pleased with the outcome of the service and would recommend this company to others.

the company says they use their own employees. FALSE, they hre temp workers not professional movers. They are not "the careful movers"  They were like bulls in a china shop, they damaged my furniture, ripped a hole in my sofa, broke me dining room chairs . They ended moving my stuff in 2 days not one  as agreed. We had to sleep on the floor because they moved our beds. Something they were not supposed to do. The rep fr the company has been unresponsive. I complained about damages  and  all I get is a form emailed to me , with no phone call, no return calls, just  awful service.  The to top it all off,  after thay deliverd they overcharged me by 600 dollars,  with no explaination, the estimate was 20 percent more than agreed. The driver held us hostage until we paid the asking price, they wouldnt leave until we paid them. then the driver offers to pay me cash for the damages  to my stuff. We poaid for a professional move,  not a bunch of "rent a drunks"  to move it.  I would not reccoment harrisons to anyone

The workers from Atlas Van Lines are very nice. They were magnificent. The furniture was two big pieces and it was handmade furniture. They moved it, and it was in perfect shape. They were very good. They went above and beyond. The price was wonderful. They usually do big jobs, and mine was pretty small, but they came over and did it.

The representative who gave me an estimate was very thorough and accurate with his projections on how many boxes would be required.  He was prompt, accurate, and communicative.  He assured me that the company could handle the antiques and fragile items.  Unfortunately, we ended up having a very bad experience.

The one lady that was responsible for most of the breakage should never be allowed to pack another box, especially when she was given explicit instructions that the china in the dining room was the most valuable.  She was arrogant and difficult from the outset.  So was one of the drivers that resented that he was put on our job.
We did appreciate the very careful packing done by two of the ladies.
At drop-off, the men did not re-assemble the furniture..  They attempted to reassemble the antique dresser with mirrors, but could not find the screws that went with it.  At that point, they took out some of their own screws (which did not fit) and tried to force them in with a  power drill.   The screws were not correct plus they were trying to force the screws from the wrong direction. They also attempted to set up the antique beds, but got the long screws for the antique beds all mixed up and put the wrong sizes in two of the beds, again forcing them in with a power drill.  We had a terrible time getting the long screws out that went to the bed in another room.   It took us days and weeks to figure out all the mess-ups and to reassemble desks, dressers, beds, etc.  I did not appreciate a power drill being used on any of our antiques.
One of the oldest and nicest mahogany beds had a decorative finial that attached in its center.  I noticed it missing when we stopped at the storage unit to drop off the dining room set.  I questioned the big driver about it and he said very adamantly that it was not ever on the bed and that they didn't lose it.  He did not attempt to look for it.  Luckily we kept looking all around the truck and found it on the ground just before they drove off.
Upon arrival at our new location, the driver's had hired some very inexperienced and incompetent workers to help them unload. We had been assured that all of their crew was well-trained, but this certainly was not the case.
One was almost physically incapable, which made it difficult for him to carefully lift and carry, without scratching walls, staircases, or damaging the load.
I relate all this so that others will be spared some of the damages and frustrations.
We have moved numerous times. No move is easy or perfectly flawless, but I can say this one was  the most difficult.  We can not undo the damage or replace some of the antiques.  We took out the extra Insurance offered  and the company eventually paid our claim, although it was a very long and arduous process.

Horrific. The worst move I've ever experienced. The packup went well, but delivery was a nightmare. They were a no-show (without notice) one day. The second day, they arrived, refused delivery based on not knowing I lived in an urban area, and left. The third day, they basically extorted money from me to hire additional help. Completely unprofessional. Absolutely incompetent. Please don't bother.

I wanted to take this opportunity to share my experience with this moving company.  the two precvios times we used Harrison's, the men were very good.  This time, the three gentlemen that moved us far outstripped any expectations I could ever have.  the men were extremely courteous and efficent in completing our move.  Their professionalism shone through the entire time they were there.  Words cannot express how pleased I was.

This is an awful company that I do not recommend to anyone! I have used
them twice for government sponsored moves. The amount of damage to our
items was just staggering!  An entire serving set of antique china, 12
place settings, was crushed. Two leather chairs were wrapped in paper
and tape; when the tape was removed at delivery it had bled thru the
paper and removed the leather dye and damaged the leather.  Three
antique Japanese plates were broken in pieces. An antique armoire from
Hungary was destroyed, its twin was dragged off the truck and one of the
legs was snapped off. A sideboard was damaged, edges were crushed and
the entire piece knocked out of square. Hardware for a matching dining
table was lost. The list goes on.. We have had approx $15K in claims
against Harrisons.

I used Harrison's Moving & Storage  last September to help me unpack. I was not impressed with the customer service at all. They broke things, they laid on my floor and did whatever they wanted. I did not have a good experience at all. The very first item they moved in my new house they dropped and put a hole in my wall. I called them back and they said it wasn't on a claim form. I advised them it wasn't personal property that was damaged but it was the house. From the management to the movers, this company is terrible. I would give them the lowest rating possible and will never use them again.

They were very professional, very careful with our items, they laid something down to not mess up your carpet, and had enough people to do it.  We moved 50 miles.  They were not like 2 men a truck, just to move a couch.

Veterans of about a dozen moves, this was the worst of our lives.  The estimate was low by 9,000 pounds and $1700. The estimator claimed he "forgot about the garage," even though I had personally walked through it with him and he took notes on its contents.

The packers  refused to pack our electronics, so I had to carry them in my car.  They did however carefully wrap our tupperware in great wads of packing material at out expense.

The movers showed up two hours late without enough movers or material.  As a result they could not finish packing the truck on moving day so we had to arrange with the new owners to occupy the house another day.

Turns out they had little experieince moving grand pianos, they had to borrow my tools to dissassemble ours and we had to have our piano tech talk them through it on the phone. This added an extra hour to the work.  After delivery the piano keys didn't work and we had to pay our tech $140 to set it right.

Harrisons did not get any parking permits as promised so we had to deal with irate new neighbors and traffic police while the truck was unloading.

They deliivered 25% of our items to the wrong rooms even though everything and every room was clearly labelled.  As a consequence it took us several extra days of backbreaking labor to sort everything out.

We disputed the extra $1700 Harrisons wanted to charge above their estimate with our credid card company, who held that payment and gave Harrisons ample time to respond.  Harrisons did nothing and the credit card company considered the matter closed.  A couple of months later Harrisons sued us in court but the judge essentilaly sided with us.  We compromised paying  $750 above the original esitimate.

This was a Navy move, but my husband and I found Read's Moving very professional and prompt. Most especially, Bill of Read's Moving was extremely kind and helpful in getting us reimbursed for our claim for a broken piece of furniture from storage--those in the Navy know how difficult this can sometimes be! He was so responsive. I would use Read's for a private move in the future, not just a Navy-paid one.

Theygot an A+ grade. Of all the moves in the Navy, this was far better than any of the previous 24 moves we've made. If I had to move again, God forbid, I'd hire these guys!

This was a truly horrendous moving experience. A guy came out from the company and provided an estmate and assured us that everythig was going to go well. The next day or so, the packers came out to our house. Many things were left unpacked and thrown around our house. I found my external DVD drive on the floor broken. I found a lot of trash left by the movers around my house. When they were loading the truck, they showed up late and moved very slowly. It took many more hours than quoted. I saw several of the movers sitting on my couch in the truck with no covering over top of it. Our items appeared to have been just thrown into the truck. The truck left and came to our new house the next day. They again started late and ended late into the night. Since they ended at 21:00 instead of the 18:00 like they were supposed to and the power hadn't been turned on yet, we could not tell how much damage had been done to our house until the next mroing when the sun came up. During the unloading phase, the movers did THOUSANDS of dollars worth of damge to our new house. We had it freshly painted and we had the hard wood floors redone. The paint in every room was marked up and damaged. The newly refinished floors had gouges in them in every room of the house. All of furniture had new nicks and dents. When I had open many of the boxes, such as my china, I had found that things were not packed well at all. Numerous things were broken. I also found items missing. Whoever had packed my office at my old house took things out of their boxes, packed the boxes but the items themselves - including a Louis Vuiton purse - myseriously disappeared. After all of that - one night after we moved into our new house, we were broken into. I can't say that anyone from the moving company was definitely involved but it is an awfully large coincidence given that no one else knew that we were here. Our house is secluded because of a protected wetland. We had tried to contact Harrison's on multiple occasions to resolve these differences in a constructive manner but they have not returned any of our calls. I am an Active Duty military Officer and have advised all of my friends and family to steer clear of this moving company. It is two years later and every time I look at the gauges that still remain in my hardwood floors, I am reminded of how awful of an experince this really was.

They broke a couple of things; that was the only problem we had with them. However, they put things back quite well. They packed the big pieces of furniture for us. They were okay. Their price was average. They were responsive and fairly punctual. I?ll probably hire them again in the future.

The packing itself was ok. Not the best I have ever seen, but ok (I have moved 14 times with the military). The pick up of the goods was alright - if more movers would have been sent it would not have taken them the two days that it did. The problem occurred when we called the office to move up the date of delivery we were informed that this could be arranged with the driver. Alright so after discussing it with the driver - he said that it would be no problem to do a door - to door move from our old home in Suffolk, VA to Lenoir City, TN. He finished the pick up on Friday and he said he would be there on Monday. On Monday we got no call as to approximate delivery time, so I called the office. At this point I am informed that the contract states that they don't have to deliver until that Friday. True, but we had phoned earlier to change that date....... So the delivery was not made until that Friday. Meanwhile my kids and I slept in sleeping bags and hung out wasting our time. Did the driver pick up other peoples stuff perhaps? No, because when they finally arrived on Friday I questioned the driver and he said he did nothing else but wait until Friday to come. So he wasted his time and money, and I just sat around. All because the manager in the office would not change the contract date!!!! When they did deliver they were sloppy and we have numerous dings in the walls! Also the local office has not returned my phone calls to schedule a pick up time of the boxes and paper -- so no recycling there!!
