The jobs went well. We wanted to raise the ceiling in the kitchen, but that first required that one supply line to the main duct line be raised. I had a difficult time finding an HVAC company that would do the duct work without it becoming a complicated costly project. Chip was accommodating to my request and cooperated in providing an alternative to change the position of the supply line which allows us the space to raise the ceiling. Also, the exhaust fans in the upstairs bathrooms did not exit through the roof but instead emptied onto the soffit which caused the surrounding wood to become moist and rot. They installed a roof jack and connected the two exhaust ducts to the roof jack. We were happy with the work they did.

They came out quickly and had the repair done very fast. They then called later the same day with a very reasonable estimate for replacing it and returned the same day did the duct replacement.

Outstanding results. Chip was referred to me by a mutual friend who had used him in the past. He came to the home and took measurements, then performed some calculations back at his office. His estimate came in well below two other quotes, and he used heavier-rated equipment. (The other quotes were from a very large local HVAC company and a smaller, family-run business.) Chip did a great job with the installation, leaving the jobsite absolutely spotless. The system is working perfectly and has added significantly to the value of the home. I would recommend him without reservation. Chip is professional, extremely knowledgeable, and honest.

During hurricane Irene we noticed some water dripping from a bathroom light fixture, so we went up to the attic to check it out. What we saw made the light fixture problem irrelevant. There was water coming out of our air conditioning unit and it had filled the pan under it so much that it was running over. We turned the unit off and lost electricity soon after that due to the hurricane. We called a different company who came out Sunday evening and the technician told us that the drain that goes into our yard stopped draining because the ground was saturated. I brought up to the technician that we had noticed some water draining from the unit in the garage too the week before, but at that time the ground was not saturated. He said he was certain of his diagnosis and he could not do anything for us that day because he would have to come back and dig in our yard to find the drain and it would cost several hundred dollars to make a french drain. The technician was rude and we did not feel like he had done a full assessment to have come to that conclusion, so we decided to call someone else. A friend recommended Chip Blake who came out promptly the next day. He quickly located the drain under our deck,. The PVC pipe came out about five inches from the end of the deck. It was very easily seen. He cleared the clog and you could see stuff come out of the drains. He then put an emergency cutoff in the pan upstairs so the unit would automatically shut off if it filled again. He inspected both units and even offered to fix the thermostat which had come loose off the wall. He is a very professional and sincere man and we will call on him again if we have any other heating and cooling problems.
