The other work was good to excellent.
"Thank you for your kind words. Of course we wish we could have repaired the faucet for you but were thankful that we could save you a bit more money by installing it at no charge. Thank you again for choosing Robertson Electric."
expected.. I gratefully accepted. It was expensive, but the problem was
real and needed the proper solution and not one short-sided. Kevin was
excellent and a fine representative of his employer. Even my dogs loved
him. I will call this business again.
after the service. It was a Saturday morning and we received no response until Monday. This happened twice more. After several weeks and charges for things that did not solve the problem we got it resolved.
During the course of their work they pointed out several flaws in our system and its installation. They offered to give us a proposal for its repair. We almost gave up on it because the response time was incredibly slow. On one of the visits the supervisor pointed out several ducts were possibly unattached and that some vents had no duct work behind them. We then pointed out a really cold draft in the kitchen. The supervisor and my husband pulled out the refrigerator. The supervisor apparently leaned on the water line a little too much. Two days later my kitchen floor was starting to warp. We cut off the water, pulled out the frig and discovered the leak. As a result, my entire floor has to be removed, Servpro took over a week to dry it out and we had to replace the entire floor. Roberston?s admits no responsibility, blamed my husband, cancelled our contract and we are back at square one after months of waiting for a proposal. Their official comment was" I was doing you a favor by looking for the cold air coming in from behind the refrigerator."
"It was quite unfortunate what had occurred at this homeowner's residence however in this instance, our company did feel that we were not responsible for the incident. We showed concern and care regarding the icemaker line. With regard to the proposal, we spent several hours at the customer's home as this was not an easy job due to the type of home the customer has and the previously installed installation performed by another company. We wanted to be sure the work proposed would correct the problems and the customer would be happy with the results. Of course, these hours were part of the proposal process and were never billed to the customer. We are sorry that this fairly new relationship ended the way it did however we felt it was in the best interest of both parties. Below is the letter sent to the customer and at no time was the comment ever made regarding our company doing the customer a favor. Also at no time was Mr. [member name removed] blamed. Our company made an observation that the line was tight and commented on such. It would have been irresponsible on our part not to mention it. We again wish the customer the best in having the repairs corrected so that their home can be the comfortable living place they wanted. March 15, 2013 Mr. and Mrs. [member name removed] 3806 Stage Junction Road Columbia, VA 23038 Dear Mr. and Mrs. [member name removed]: I would like to thank Mr. [member name removed] for taking a moment to discuss with me the events that occurred on my last visit to your home. While the situation is quite unfortunate, I would like to again just outline those events. Upon discussing your existing air quality concerns, you had questioned me about cold air coming from behind the refrigerator freezer in the kitchen. I indicated in order to investigate the existing problem that the refrigerator would need to be pulled out to view the area and at that time Mr. [member name removed] started to pull the unit out with my assistance. Upon pulling the refrigerator out, I noticed the water line to the ice maker was tight and suggested pushing the unit back in so not to have tension on the line. This left only about 8-10 inches for someone to slide behind the refrigerator to view the air leakage. I viewed leakage and took pictures so you could also see the issues. At all times I was aware of the water line and careful to not disturb it. When finished taking pictures, I inspected the line and saw no leaks. Mr. [member name removed] and I then slid the refrigerator back into its original position. Our company was not notified about the water leak until only a couple days ago and told work was being done to repair a damaged floor that I caused according to Mrs [member name removed]. Again this is certainly an unfortunate incident however, I do not feel that myself or our company should be held responsible for what was an existing potential hazard prior to our visit. Following your lead, I assisted in pulling out the refrigerator which lead to possible stress on an already too short water line to view your air quality concerns but again both the air quality problem and unnecessarily short icemaker water line were caused by another company. In light of the current circumstances, Robertson Electric would like to thank you for the opportunity to provide you with a proposal for correcting airflow problems however we feel it would be best to decline at this time. In addition, enclosed please find a check in the amount of $327 representing the unused portion of your Energy Savings Maintenance agreement with our company. While Robertson Electric has always prided ourselves on our ability to keep our customers our number one priority, occasionally a relationship is just not beneficial to either party. We are always thankful for the opportunity to have tried to serve you and wish you the best of luck in resolving your issues with another company. Sincerely, Bruce Locker Matt Vickers President Service Manager MV:kk Encl."
Robertson Electric appeared at the top of my Angie's List query for plumbers. They also offered a $20 off coupon for their first visit. There we a number of favorable customer comments about this company which eased my mind. Their office is located about three miles from my home so I decided to stop by and pay them a visit. I found the customer service personnel to be very friendly and responsive to my request for service. They stated that they could fix the leak and didn't attempt to upsell me on anything. I did explain that I will be replacing my gas furnace in the near future and would welcome their bid.
The Robertson technician Jeremy Lamb was superb. He was friendly, got right down to work and completed the task on a timely basis. He was very responsive and willing to answer my questions regarding this issue and offered suggestions to prevent future plumbing problems.
"We want to thank you for your continued loyalty as a Robertson Electric customer. Occassionally we have a technician that may require a bit more training to bring them up to the Robertson Electric standards that not only you expect but we as well. Of course we apologize that you did not experience the full Robertson Electric service that you are accustomed to and will be in contact regarding that. Again, we appreciate your continued loyalty and thank you."
