The process went very smoothly.  The supervisor kept a close watch on the project and answered all my questions.  The trim and the deck both look stellar.

"We have confirmed the quote did go out 3 days after Matt's visit, unfortunately she did not receive it. The e-mail did not bounce back so it may have gone to spam folder. We did not get messages of follow-up not sure why."

Overall it was a good experience, and I would highly recommend them.
Estimate/Proposal: After dealing with multiple contractors (which I find to be a very frustrating experience in general), I was pleased with Mike's price as well as his responsiveness in responding to my various emails about the proposal. In fact, I had him come out to the house again just so we could count the pieces of wood that needed to be replaced and then revise the proposal with that data. He was very professional and timely during this entire process.
Job Performance: The crew arrived promptly in the morning. I walked around the house with the crew lead, Ronnie, and he seemed to be clearly on the same page about all of the work that needed to be performed. In addition, he identified an area of trim that I had missed the first time around. There was already an area near the gutter that Mike had been reluctant to include in his initial proposal, because he did not know without a ladder how extensive the damage was. So both of these things had to be added on to the proposal after the fact, and I felt that I was still given a very reasonable price for adding these additional labor and material costs.
It took two days for them to complete the job because there was so much wood that had to be replaced/ repaired. (My house had been overdue for a coat of paint for probably a few years!) On the final day, as the crew was cleaning up all their supplies, they even recaulked a light fixture of mine on the outside of the house because they noticed it was in bad shape and they were already there with a ladder. I really appreciated that since it was above and beyond the job.
They really did quality work, and I feel like I have a brand new house again!

This was a simple job -- painting some exterior windows on an old house that grown weather-beaten and cracked. No problem. The crew chief, Thomas, came and did the prep work the first day, allowing his crew to swiftly and efficiently finish the painting the next day. They did their work with a minimum of intrusiveness, and the fact that they were working in cold November winds did nothing to hinder them. Every munton was painted without a smudge or streak. The result? 40-year-old windows looking good as new.

They were well. We had to have them come back and look at something again but they were pretty receptive when we called and it was not quite what we expected. We had dry wall put in our ceiling in different spots and they had to texturize it and then repaint our whole ceiling. The texture the first time was not right so I had them come back and retexturize it. They had to come back but they were very good about making sure that they did a good job. The price was what I expected.

Mike and his crew did a fantastic job on my basement floor renovation.  He and his team focused on getting a positive outcome, going back over areas during the prep-work to ensure the best results.  They are very trustworthy, providing all the information needed to make a decision and then living up to their commitments. I am extremely pleased with the quality, the value, and their professionalism. I would highly recommend Masterworks for any painting and renovation work.  I intend to use this company again in the future.
ESTIMATING and PROJECT PREPARATION: Good details on the estimate.  Recommended an acid wash versus my initial plans for a simple heavy duty paint.  Brought samples and pictures to provide expected results. Brought in a Sherman Williams expert to test the floor and make recommendations.  Mike was consistently focused on getting good results with a consistent color presentation while providing the natural look an acid wash obtains.  He understood a major consideration was ensuring no future problems with my geriatric cat (i.e. waterproof, easy clean-up etc..).
WORK EFFORT: Polite, timely, and constantly communicating as required.  Went over and over some troublesome spots on the concrete floor to make sure it was "just right".  When I decided I wanted to give away one of the HEAVY pieces of gym equipment, Juan (crew lead) and company helped me without hesitation to move it out of the basement.  Most importantly these guys were so professional.  The work was done to a high quality with no feedback required.  It EXCEEDED my expectations in terms of completeness and quality. Mike personally inspected multiple times during the project providing any direction they needed.  I felt very confident he was my advocate for how he'd like to see it if it were his house. Note:  I was forewarned that some of the floor products would be particularly smelly.  The crew put up a vapor barrier and used fans to keep this to a minimum.  As advertised, there was a pungent odor for a few hours on several days but the house aired out very quickly.
FINAL OUTCOME: My floor is a beautifully mottled Autumn Breeze color (that matches my decor) in the recreation room and the gym room (which had all sorts of nooks and crannies) looks outstanding.  I couldn't be more pleased with the facelift in the basement.
QUALITY vs VALUE: EXCELLENT.  There was a large amount of labor involved in this project but the price was reasonable and the outcome just what I wanted.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I had some ceiling painting done and the individual did a good job but I
did have to clean up some minor paint drips that I noticed days later.
I think the dripping or splashing was mostly due to the cheap paint
that I bought.  Note: Don't buy Valspar interior ceiling paint.  I
actually have three coats of paint on the ceiling and it still looks
uneven.  The last coat was done by Manorworks.

I think they did a really good job. Mike, the owner, did all of the preplanning with his staff and then came out to make sure all of the details were taken care of ahead of time. The work is immaculate. It came out really nice. Mike and his staff are very friendly and easy to work with.

What I liked most about Masterworks Painters is their attention to detail. Most contractors give their opinions on a project before you give them your input. However, Masterworks listened to what I wanted done before discussing any of their opinions. They had me inspect their work during the project and after the project to make sure they were meeting my standards. When they came to paint inside my home they did an excellent job at matching the paint colors.

WORK STILL NOT COMPLETE. I have been very disappointed so far. I think maybe the company should just stick with painting. The most upsetting part of this whole process is that I have been more than patient and understanding after numerous excuses and failures to show on the date/time promised. It's been a nightmare and the work still isn't complete. I will say though, that what is finished looks very nice, although I had to have them come back more than once to clean up after themselves, and clean up their work. I would not recommend this company for doors or siding.
Response from MasterWorks Painting and Remodeling

"I take full responsibility for what happened here. This job called for a custom size door and transom. Because it was a custom size I had my supplier visit the job site before ordering. The problem was at the factory, each time it came in it was the wrong size. This happened three times! Custom doors can like this take for this company 8 weeks. Very frustrating for me as well as my customer. In the end we finally got it right and it looks beautiful. Because of all the issues I offered to do some interior painting and carpentry that was a considerable amount of work. The customer really liked the finished product and that we stayed the course to the finish the job despite all the delays. They were very pleased in the end. I will be honest I have never been so happy to finish a job. One of the challenging parts of this job was the owner whom I still have not met was out of country and I was working with his girl friend whom was never there, so communication was challenging to say the least about that."

The precision in their painting is amazing. All lines where paint meets other color paint, woodwork, carpet, etc., are ruler straight. I'm a stickler about these things, and apparantly they are too! All nail pops and nail holes were fixed prior to painting, everything smoothed out, and they had enough crew on hand to work efficiently and well. They covered all the floors from the entry door throughout the work area, and also covered all the furniture. We had a bit of trouble getting one of the wall colors exactly right, but the owner was very understanding and even suggested colors he thought would enhance the area. We found our own replacement color that look beautiful, but it was nice to have the support.

We wanted the house painted before we moved in, so we had a tight deadline of less than a week between closing day and moving day. Mike and his assistant met us at the house a couple of weeks before closing, walked through and explained what they would do in each room, while also making design suggestions. We received an estimate before they left, and a detailed quote via email within 24 hours. Once we had selected our colors and reviewed the quote, with few minor changes, they sent the revised version promptly. The crew started on time and made very fast progress - we gave them 5 days (including a weekend), but most of the work seemed to be done within the first 3 days. We stayed out of the way, packing at our old home, and only checked on the house in the evenings, so we didn't interact with the crew at all. Painting-wise, there was one error in the kitchen - the ceiling. It was supposed to be the same flat light grey ceiling as the rest of the house, but they used a glossy white, and the decorative molding area above the pot rack was supposed to be painted to match the ceiling, and it was left in the old maroon color. When Mike came to do a final walkthrough, we mentioned the problem and he apologized and immediately set up a time for his crew to return and fix it. The job was finished very quickly, they protected everything in the kitchen and taped the edges for nice crisp lines between the wall paint color and the ceiling color. They left us a partial can of paint for each color we used, so we were able to use that for touch-ups in areas the movers scuffed/scratched, which was very useful. We are very pleased with the service and will most likely call them again when we are ready for the remaining rooms to be painted.

I received a professional estimate in writing, he was actually on time. They had plenty of references which I checked out. The workers were very nice and professional. I have painted my self so I know a good job when I see it. They impressed me with detailed prep like they repaired nail pops with screws which I did not ask for and repaired some nicks in the corner and cracks in the ceiling. Great Job!
