One of the owners I dealt with was very knowledgeable and personable. He had great social skills, I enjoyed how easy it was to work with them. He made sure to thoroughly explain what needed to be done, and I also didn't feel like he was trying to take advantage of me. The entire staff was very professional. They worked efficiently, did a great job, and even cleaned up after themselves.

I had Katchmark install some additional gutters along the back of my house so that the rain wouldn't run off the side of the roof on to the area where the back door is. When I talked to representative I envisioned the water draining to the side of my house and we talked about this a bit. When the work was completed, the downspout drained right in the middle of the patio area. I called them back and to their credit they did send someone out and he did explain how it wasn't possible or desirable to have it drain where I wanted it to. That being said the original problem wasn't that large and if I knew the solution was to have it drain in the middle of the patio, I wouldn't have had that part of the work done. My larger problem however is with the warranty on their work. Now I will admit I can't find the paperwork and I am sure it says what Katchmark claims, but I still think they provided poor service. They tightened up another downspout and reconnected it to the gutters on the roof where it had come loose. Now, less than a year after they did the work, the downspout has separated in the middle and is causing water to run down the side of my house. The claim they are not responsible for fixing this which seems ridiculous to me as they did do work on it, and I would assume if they did the work correctly, it would still be in working order less than a year later. Further, it looks to me it would take about 10 minutes to repair (someone get up on a ladder, connect the two pieces of pipe, and install some sort of bracket to keep it in place) and if the company had good customer service it would do that work. Instead they tell me they can fix it but only if I pay their minimum service fee of 475. I would not recommend to anyone a company that won't stand behind its work nor work with its prior customers to keep them happy.

Everything went very very well. They were on time, professional and did a great job. My project was fairly complicated and they went above and beyond what I expected and it turned out to be a wonderful job. The workers were all curtious and clean and kept moving to ensure a timely completion of the project. In addition, the price they gave me was the price I ended up paying. I highly recommned using Katchmark if you need a roof job done in the future. I put on a metal roof and am happy that I had them do it because now I am confident that I will likely never have to put another roof on my house.

The man that came out was very thorough. He went up on the roof and took pictures. He was really informative and he explained everything to me. I would consider using them in the future.

They were the best estimate and pointed out things that the other companies did not. They are very competent. They had a competitive price and did an excellent job.

I called three companies for a quote on this small job and Katchmark was the only one to not only contact me right away but also follow through. Steven came by the house on a weekend which was a big help to us since we work during the week. When I contacted him about getting the issue fixed earlier due to a pending home appraisal, he got us on the schedule so we would be ready. We were quite impressed with the responsiveness and professionalism so have now hired them to repaint our incredibly faded shutters. Steven again came out on a weekend so we could sign the contract and removed the shutters himself to save some time. Very pleasant doing business with Katchmark.

I was very anxious about possible damage to the new plants around the front of the house, but the plants were fine and the job was completed in less than a day. Eric Templeton took the time to complete a detailed diagram as part of the estimate and gave us two options; one to fix the problem area only and replace the shingles in the patched area, or two, to replace the entire front, lower section of the roof so that the patch would not be noticed. Eric explained that the 40 yr shingle we currently had is no longer available, and showed me a sample of the color that closely matched in the new Timberline lifeitme warranty shingles and explained how they had been improved. We went with option #2 and I cannot distinguish the difference in the new section of the roof. The repair was completed quickly, less than a week after the estimate. I had explained we were in a hurry to get the work done and Katchmark accomodated us! I would definitely recommend this roofing company if you want prompt, quality service!

.Out of 7 different bids they were the most knowledgeable and thorough. They were the only ones that strongly suggested replacing the roof when it was done was found to be necessary.

What we have found to be very good for us is Ketchmark. They have been fabulous and we’ve had our side door done and there are other small things they have helped us with. They are pretty good; we’ve had them more than so they are good and tough. They are reliable and they stay by their work. I would say that the price is mid high, we had a guy come out and give an estimate which was much lower, several hundreds lower, but you are not going to get the quality. I plan to use the company in the future.

They were so eager to get started that they arrived and hour and a half earlier than had been arranged by phone the previous day. With so much big equipment in the street, my neighbors couldn't get out of their parking spaces to get to work. I told the guys they had to get their heavy equipment out of the way. Apparently, the guys who came with the trucks hadn't read the work order thoroughly. Once they got going, everything moved very fast. I hardly had time to realize what was happening, when I realized one of the workers had started removing the little roof over my bay window. That was not part of the contract. (Their guy hadn't read it.) I stopped him, and he put everything back, with new flashing to make it weather proof. All of this suggests to me that there is room for improvement in their internal communication system. Apart from that, things went pretty smoothly. They did a great job cleaning up before they left.

We had a roof leak during the heavy rain in October and November, the first company that came out told me the roof wasn't going to last more than another year and we should replace it and all of the gutters and downspouts immediately. The salesman really pushed high end shingles and downspouts. Katchmark came out and said the roof was fine and would last at least another three or four years. The problem was the downspouts pulling away from the house and letting water in to the spike holes. They also suggested doing some recaulking and nailing down a few loose shingles. They told me it would be at least three weeks before they could start because of all of the storm damage. We were out of town when they came, but my daughter reports that they arrived promptly, worked hard and the result is no leaking roof and very nice new gutters and downspouts. We will undoubtedly use them when we have to replace the roof.

They did a very nice job. Insurance paid for most of it so I didn’t pay much. Compared to what I have heard from my neighbors, they weren’t any higher or lower than the other companies. There was a little issue where they messed up my yard, but they came out and made everything right. I would absolutely use them again.

Katchmark completed a roof repair. At the time, thought they were professional and provided good service. But now, my roof has started leaking in the exact same place. They do not warranty their roof repairs. I will be engaging another company who hopefully can provide a repair that lasts more than 3 years for this round of repairs. ** I've now gotten an estimate for a new roof. The estimator said that the roof repair was good that Katchmark did, but that the chimney needed work as well, and that whoever assessed the repair initially missed that. **

Very unhelpful and rude customer service.

Estimator arrived at the arranged time on October 28, examined roof and flashing, took photos, and we spent considerable time discussing the work that would be required. Proposal was received on November 4; I asked for some additional detail to be spelled out in the proposal, and received a suitably updated proposal on November 9. Work was scheduled for and begun (and nearly completed) on November 25, with the last work completed on November 30. Because I had previously purchased much of the siding that would be required, all lumber (siding and window trim) was provided by me. I was very, very impressed by the competence of the (two man) work crew, Edgar and Armando: some of the siding had to be cut at different angles at top and bottom to conform to an unusual roof line, and the resulting match is perfect. The window trim involved cutting and fitting lots of different lengths of 1"x3", 1"x4", 1"5" and 1"x6" board, and the results are flawless. Despite the short daylight hours, they completed 95% of the work on the first day (more than I had expected) and carefully fixed "tyvek" (sp?) waterproof sheeting on the small unfinished areas before leaving for the day due to darkness. Remaining work was completed by the same two men on November 30. All in all, this was a very professional, high quality job.

This was the second time we used Katchmark and they did a wonderful job. (The first time was for roofing work on another house.) The work was completed as described and on time, and the repairs have held up well. Katchmark staff were friendly and willing to explain their approach to the repair.

Excellent work by Eric Katchmark & his repair team. Our roof no longer leaks. The repair looks nice, they left our yard neat, and we are both pleased with their work.

I highly recommend Katchmark! Stephen Jr. has perfected customer service. His knowledge, honesty, and patience makes him second to none. He was always on time, prepared and professional. Even when he didn't have the answers, he researched the problem with his staff. My issue was water leaks within my roof and windows. Stephen helped me test the window leaks, crawled through my attic, climbed and inspected my roof, took pictures, and came up with recommendations to fix all of my problems. The window and roofing crew performed their duties as promised and efficiently. I purchased three new windows, a larger gutter for the back of the house, and roof patches. Unfortunately, I had one small leak in an area they worked on. Stephen Jr. came over with one of his engineers. They crawled through my 100 plus degree attic, climbed my roof again, and determined the source of the problem. He advised me they will fix it and it was covered under Katchmark's warranty program. I understand water leaks are sometimes hard to fix and pin point the first time, and that is why it was important for me to find the right company for this job. A company that will stand by their work, has exceptional knowledge, and takes pride in customer satisfaction. I used Angie's list and got pricing from other companies. Katchmark wasn't the least expensive, but the spread in pricing wasn't significant. I was surprised how some never called back to schedule an appointment. My job was not a large one, but Stephen Jr. treated me as if it was a million dollar project. I am happy to report that during hurricane Irene, I had no water leaks!

I was pleased with them. They arrived on time. They got it done within the three days that they talked about. Each day when they finished it was clean and it seemed to me that they were a very professional team. I was pleased with what they did each day and I was pleased that they left the premises clean at the end of each day. As compared to other bids, that I got the price was probably a “B” or “B+” but the work I think was an “A”, so the value was probably an “A”. I would give them an “A” overall. Quality was excellent. When I got the final bid responsiveness was good. They came out and gave me a bid in November. I called them in February or March to say I’m ready to go. They disowned the bid in November because the person who had made the bid prior had to let go. It was an unfortunate start and I almost did not go with them. Finally, when they came and reassessed the roof, it substantially increased the bid but it was still within the ballpark of what others had said. I decided to go with it because of Angie’s List. And I told them so, I said there was a $500 coupon and you have got good gradings but I was disappointed with the ease they disregarded their previous estimator. In terms of punctuality, once it was signed up they held to the time line. That was about three weeks from the date of the contract, they delivered the materials on a Friday before they started the work and they were here early morning 7o’clock, so they were punctual. I was impressed with their professionalism. I went up on the roof with them. Both the crew as well as the supervisor I thought were good. I would recommend and use their services again in the future.
