My Liftmaster garage wall-mounted unit (Model 885LM) wasn't working, so I called American Joe for repair services. They installed it 5 years ago. He figured out what I needed by my description, which is that the 3V (button-cell) battery (CR2032) was out of commission. These batteries usually run out of juice in 3 years. I'm not handy, but he explained how to properly remove the wall unit and to change out the battery. He immediately answered my call right after finishing up another job. Communicative and friendly was his tone and effective was his guidance. He did not need to come out, but he could have played it another way. I don't know him, but he seems like a stand-up guy. Great to work with. I recommend him highly.

A spring on one of my doors snapped on Sunday. Joe had serviced my doors a number of years ago so figured I see if he was still in the business. Texted the number on the old business card I had and got a response back in about 10 minutes, on a Sunday! After a few texts and photos he gave me a quote. Steve showed up today (Monday) within the window advised. Installed springs on both doors and adjusted them. Both work much smoother than they did previously. You need garage door service, call Joe.

Joe was here for less than 15 min. Sprayed the roller and track and diod little else.He tried to sell me new lifetime rollers for $175. He never checked the downward pressure or springs.
I could have done the same work for less then $10. It was NOT worth $59.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it turned out very well. My service has been very good since the work was performed. The value of the work compares very well to the price. I thought the work was fast, convenient and they were able to accommodate my times. I had no problems and thought everything went very well.

Joe replaced a torsion spring in one garage door and replaced all rollers in two doors. He recommended that the second spring be replaced and that strengthening brackets be added to both doors. but did not have a second with him. He returned several days later and, for an additional $125.00, replaced the second spring and added two strengthening brackets.

The price for the repairs was higher than expected. Work took less than 1/2 hour and parts couldn't have been much, but I was already on the hook from of the tune-up i purchased.
Was not very neat when spraying rail and hinges. Lubricant ran down the door and got all over the floor and was not cleaned up. Light bulbs were not replaced, this should have been included in the tune-up price since not much was done for the tune-up

"Sorry you were not satisfied with the service. Light bulb replacement is not a normal service request in the industry. if you check with other companies the price was reasonable and most companies I have worked for would have told me to lie about the sensors being the problem and would have sold you a new opener instead. That would have cost much more. I take pride in being honest and fair with my costumers. Sorry for leaving residue on the door sections. I usually use WD-40 instead and never have that problem. That day I used a different product.I am very sorry and will improve my performance and appreciate the knowledge I gained from your review. Thank you again and I hope you call again to give me the opportunity to make this up to you."

Joe was always on time and kept me informed when he was on his way to my house. He was a pleasure to have around, worked very efficiently and left the place clean and tidy.
His price was lower than a company that failed to show up twice.

We had an older garage door opener with direct drive and internal springs that died. We had replaced the garage door opener but left the spring system. The internal springs broke and the door could not be opened. I called American Joe, based on their Angie's list reviews. They were on another call in the area and came over 1 1/2 hours after my call, removed our old system and installed a new spring system in about an hour and at a reasonable price. They cleaned up and removed all the old components. The price quoted was exactly what they charged. Highly recommended.

Joe had done an Excellent job -- Shown up early in the morning and got into work right away since I had to get into the office for early morning meeting -- Joe replaced the broken springs on the garage door -- The job was done within 20 mins and I was be able to make the meeting on time.

Old garage door (wooden) was starting to show its age. Since Joe lived fairly close to us and was offering a deal, we decided to purchase. He came out and was very knowledgeable and showed us our options. We could have paid more and upgraded, but we decided to go with a standard steel door that looked like our old one. We opted for windows instead of insulation so the price remained the same. Joe came a couple of weeks later (could have come earlier, but was not convenient for us) and removed the old door (hauled away) and installed the new door as well as motion sensors my husband had never installed. It took him and his co-worker less than two hours to complete. He told us if we had any problems to call him. He works quickly and efficiently. We would highly recommend him.

Joe showed up right on time, in fact a few minutes early. He said the problem was a part that had worn out. The part and it's installation was an additional $90. We also had him tune up our second door for an additional $35. All in all it was an excellent expereince. On time, fair price, and Joe was respectful of my wife who was home for the repair.

I called Joe on Wednesday and told him what I wanted. We agreed he would do the installation first thing Friday morning. He came as scheduled, with a helper, and they did the whole job in less than 45 minutes. Joe took away with him the old garage door opener and the boxes, etc. The new garage door opener has worked perfectly ever since the installation.

Everything went smoothly; they called when they were on their way and arrived during the appt window they had scheduled with me. All their recommendations were practical and reasonably priced, and there was no sales pitch or pressure.

Joe was great, he knew what the problem was when I decribed it to him over the phone. He came over and had in fixed in about three hours from when I called him. He did not try to sell me a new door or opener, just fixed what was needed for a reasonable price. I am glad I found him; I asked him for estimates for other home repairs that I need to have done. Recommend him highly, he and his assistant Chris were polite, professional, very competent and friendly.

Excellent work - professional and pleasant as well. Obviously an expert at what he does and appreciative of his customers. I would definitely use him again and refer him to others. The price was excellent as well for the work that he did. His hours are great as well with evening hours and Saturday. I was totally satisfied.

The work went very well and very quickly. No sooner had I purchased the service did I hear from Joe about scheduling the service. He arrived on time and was extremely competent and professional. He had the part I needed and repaired the drive motor assembly in under a half hour. The door works great now. In fact, Joe came by again yesterday to make an adjustment to the distance the door rides off the garage floor. All in all, I would describe the service as very professional, timely and of high quality and great value. i would recommend these folks to anyone without hesitation.

Joe replaced a rotting wood garage door for me with a new 3-layer insulated steel door with new tracks, rollers, springs and cables. He came out and worked quickly and thoroughly. He did an excellent job, and even made some repairs and adjustments to the existing hardware. He added additional bracing to a new Clopay-brand door in a known weak-spot. I highly recommend him for garage door work. You can be sure he will do it right. (Price is N/A because the job was bid through a 3rd party, but Joe did the work.)
