They did a great job repairing my snowblower 3 years ago. Pick-up and delivery for a great price. But when I called in November to get service again they said they were closed for winter. Lossing out on a lot of business that way. I had to go to a much more expensive and not as helpful shop. So I have to give a lower rating.

This seems to be a very odd company. When they actually do work then they high notes but they don't look at messages on Angie's list and their phone is currently ringing busy continually. They either need to fix their horrendous customer dis-service or close their shop. Angie's List needs to stop recommending this company until they get their act together.

Excellent service. I called in the evening Steve came out the next day and picked up the mower. He called me one day later to say it was working great and did I want a general tune up in addition to the carburetor work. I said yes and made an appointment to have it returned on Saturday. I ended up have a full work up, lube, cleaning blade sharpening etc. He was punctual, professional and knew his business. In addition to the repair he provided advice about how to avoid this problem in the future.

Repaired a broken snowblower which would not start during the recent storm. Steve was responsible and the price was reasonable for the repair. I would use again and highly recommend.

Excellent service. Mike had fixed my lawn mower engine issue and Steve took care of the snow blower this time. Very reasonable price with quality service. Highly recommanded.

Well worth my driving out to Centreville from inside the beltway to deliver my snow blower. Steve was very accommodating and flexible with my schedule. The shop (shed) in the back was a clean, neat, and well laid out workspace. Steve explained what he saw needed to be done, ordered parts, replaced the broken augers and examined and cleaned up the machine. All this was done in 10 days! He gave suggestions and tips for ongoing maintenance -- using PAM or WD40 spray in the chute to keep the snow/ice from clogging, adjusting the augers as they wear down, using the right gas and oil, and cleaning up at the end of the season. The machine started up immediately (but no snow to move). Steve had appreciated the manual and extra parts that came with the snow blower since the part numbers were not on the machine itself -- advised me to hold on to that information as long as I had the machine. That saved me some money. The pricing was very fair with $80 for service and $120 for the ordered parts.
Telephone is by far the best way to contact Steve at First Look LLC. No response from the online attempt but very cordial and accommodating by phone. Will definitely go back for small machine repairs.

Have a medium size snow blower that wouldn't start. Too heavy for me to haul it into a repair shop. Called First Look on Oct 23rd. They picked up the snow blower from my house on Oct 24th. Returned it on Oct 27th. They explained what they did (clean carb., flush fuel system, and adjust the shoes), and even started it to show me that it now worked fine.
Very easy to deal with, prompt pick-up, repair and return. Great job!

We have an old lawnmower and called First Look and several others on Angie's List regarding fixing an oil leakage. FL was available on Sat and answered promptly. We were able to set up a time to pick up the lawn mower (add'l charge, but definitely worth it). Mike picked up and dropped off the lawn mower at the appointed times. The lawn mower came back looking like new and functioning a lot better, so clearly Mike gave it an overall service vs. focusing on our one problem. FL's service was excellent, and convenient and reliable. Though the cost was likely a bit more than others when factoring the add'l cost for pick up/drop off, it was so worry-free, that it was worth the add'l expense.

Except for not arriving to pick up or deliver on time, the service provided was excellent! He even showed my husband what to do so that we would NOT have to call again for a tune-up so soon.
As for the punctuality, he did have an emergency that prevented him from coming to pick up the lawnmower. It would have been fine if he had called to reschedule, but I had to instead. In the future, it is better professionally, if the service operator makes the call and not the potential client.

Contacted the company via website email. Received a reply to contact someone by phone. Left a voicemail with detailed information and they never returned my call. I left a follow up email stating that nobody ever called me back. That email was ignored. I need 3 pieces of equipment repaired for the spring and have wasted 4 days waiting for a company that never called me back. Don't waste your time here- contact someone who wants your business.

First Look came same day as they were called, picked up snow blower that wouldn't start. They returned it within 48 hours, and a day before the next snow storm. Snow blower started promply, and was useful on next snow. They also advised homeowner on how to avoid gumming up the gas flow during the summer period.

A quick, professional job. Much appreciated.

I had some old fuel that I used in my mower last fall and immediately had problems with the mower starting and then turning off. Some research showed that it was very likely an issue with the carburetor needing to be cleaned or rebuilt as a result of the ethanol in the fuel breaking down.
I tried to fix this myself this spring, but couldn't keep the mower running. I called around to several different repair shops and found the wait times to be quite long. I found First Look through Angie's List and when I called and spoke to Steve he was great. I talked to him about his lead time (7-10 days) which was really the shortest I was hearing anywhere and how the pick-up and drop-off would work out. The convenience of having someone pick up the mower was really a deciding factor and that he could do it in a reasonable time frame.
I talked to Steve on a Thursday and he picked up the mower the same day. We chatted for a bit about the likely issue and he had some advice on how to avoid having this happen in the future. He asked if I wanted any other service on the mower and I said I didn't think it was time yet given the age of the mower and he agreed. No upsale pressure at all. He turned the mower around in 2 days. Other places were telling me anywhere from 10 days to 6 weeks and these guys did it in two days. Mower runs well and I'm satisfied.
$20 of the cost was a pick-up and drop-off fee as I'm slightly outside of his range which was fair.

No one ever returned my call. Did get two emails from the website contact saying someone would be in touch, but no one ever did. Contacted another firm that answered the phone and have picked up the equipment exactly as promised.

Great experience! We fuel was left in our snowblower resulting in a varnish build up that I could not remove. The snowblower was picked up, repaired and delivered in a timely manner. I was even given some tips on how to keep it running in top condition.
