"In over 30 years of doing business, we have never had a theft or a police report filed. Every report of a missing item or box has always been found once all of the unpacking had been completed. When you notified the office about the two missing boxes, our operations manager investigated immediately, even offering to assist your search for the items; the offer was declined. Understanding the inconvenience of having to replace the utensils, towels, and the mixer, we promptly accommodated your full replacement value request of the kitchen & bath items in the 2 boxes as well as the shelf in an effort to be more than fair. It is standard procedure to perform a walk through before leaving the 'old' house but also at the end of each move, to inspect the truck before the crew leaves ensuring nothing was left behind. Even so, any report is taken very seriously by all of us at Carmack Moving & Storage and we encourage customers to contact our operations manager who makes himself available for any, and all, questions or issues before, during, and after the move."

I have move with a full family over 20 times within the US and abroad including to the middle east. This is my first long distance move as a singleton. It was done on time, with the sole exception that the window of delivery was longer than I had expected, but that is perhaps my fault; I thought I had made it clear that I needed delivery two days after final pickup; the window was up to 5 days. It turned out not to be a problem, and the same driver who picked me up (Salzo aka "Spicey") was fun to deal with and on top of things; he basically worked his a.. off along with the other two, and delivered on time and with minimum of fuss.
Complaints (more or less par for the course, but one exception): when packing fragile items, too many things were stuffed in the same box. Oddly, none broke, but it was lucky. Two items did break, but along earlier fault lines and were easily glued back together. The exception was a Schwinn Aerodyne Exercise Bike, something you would think to be indestructible. Somehow, probably because they laid it on its side instead of standing it up in the truck, they managed to seize up the mechanism, in effect tightening the drive belt and chain to a point where it would not turn rendering the bike useless. I had assembled it myself, and could not figure out how to fix it. A local shop repaired it, however, using special tools, and it is back in working order. It cost $91 or so to fix, but Carmack stepped up and sent me a check to cover that cost. (I believe I did have the full coverage option.) But, the ops chief, Rob, never gave me a hard time about it even though they never did offer an answer as to what they might have done to cause the damage. The check arrived today and closes all my few issues.
I would happily recommend them again to anyone making a similar move.

Showed up on time both days. Packers (3 man crew) did a great job with fragile items. Hit their estimate exactly. The load and unload crew (6 men) worked hard to get us done in a single day. The new house has a challenging staircase. Everything went exactly where we wanted it.

Debbie provided the best priced estimate of all the regular moving companies that gave estimates. Although I did not use their services, I would definitely recommend them. Debbie was great! She was straight forward, very professional, and very personable. Due to the economic factors involved, I decided to use a "moving pod" method which hopefully will save me money.

This was the best moving experience I have ever had! It started well in the beginning with Mike coming out to the house and walking us through all the steps and estimating costs to the group that came out for pre-packing then the loading and unloading at our destination. Each step was handled seamlessly and in a most professional manner. The different employees we met on the way were pleasant, efficient and professional. Rob helped with the packing steps and the cross country driver were fantastic! They stayed in contact and let us know where our shipment was and they delivered it exactly as promised! Everything arrived safe and sound and in excellent shape. I highly recommend Carmack for any moving experience whether local or long distance!!

They came out, they gave us a price, so were pleased with that. They've been right on top of it. It?s more of a local company that goes across the country, and we like to support local companies. She came out, she looked, she was very good, she said if we had any questions ask. They were very good to get back to us. They've come out, and priced it out for us. She's easy to contact. She gets right back if we contact her. We're very pleased. She was very thorough. She also said since its a local company, it's not going to make multiple stops. That's how they're unique that way. It's more of a personalized move, you aren't just one of many stops. Very Professional.

"First, let me say, I'm sorry that your experience with Carmack Moving & Storage didn’t meet our goal of 100% satisfaction! This is not the typical feedback we hear. Based upon my discussion with the team who provided you with your services, as well as, my review of the actual services performed and the charges collected, I'm somewhat at a loss how to respond to this review, due to several important conflicting facts. We feel so strongly about providing the best service for every customer, that we provide the operations manager’s personal cell phone number in every confirmation letter; he is available 24x7 to address any questions, complications, or concerns before, during, and after the move. You stated that your move didn’t go well from the start and that the crew that went out on your job were “surly and rude.” In the 10 years this particular crew has been with us, I’ve never received a complaint about any one of them as being unprofessional or rude. In addition, there were no comments regarding lack of professionalism; in fact, you signed and acknowledged everything was packed, loaded, and delivered to your satisfaction. Again, I find it difficult to respond to the comments in this review, because they directly conflict with the information you provided the day of your move. In our industry a delivery spread is provided on long distance moves to allow for any mechanical or weather delays. Unfortunately, we did have mechanical issues with the truck and were at the mercy of receiving the part that was needed. We at Carmack Moving & Storage understand every minute of our customers’ time is extremely important and this is why we go above and beyond that of standard moving companies. The operations manager contacted and spoke to you that evening of the 5th. He updated you to let you know your shipment would deliver the morning of the 7th a day late from your delivery spread. At that moment he also notified you that Carmack Moving & Storage would be giving you a $500 credit on your move to compensate for the unfortunate delay. On a long distance move, final charges are based on the shipment’s actual weight. Yes, your shipment came in 1,220 lbs over the estimated weight. In the end, the additional cost to you was $93.78 over the estimate. We truly apologize for your move not going without incident. Our operations manager has tried contacting you after your move and has been unsuccessful in reaching you. Please do give him a call as we are we are anxious to get resolution on a few outstanding items you mentioned in your review. Regards, Robert Carmack"
Just want to say that both myself and other family members have used Carmack's services four times over the past 20 years and they have been an absolute delight to deal with : ) A number of years ago, when we were moving my dad, who was almost 80 years old at the time and very nervous about moving, we used Carmack's services and the move was totally seamless : ) My dad was very pleased as was I : )
When searching for estimates from other movers, Debbie, who provides the estimates at Carmack's, was the most thorough and professional of all the people I spoke with from other moving companies. The estimate she provided was very accurate. Celso and his crew were wonderful! They were polite, considerate and respectful of our property and before they left, they asked if everything was to our satisfaction : )
I have recommended Carmack's to some of my friends who are planning a move in the next couple of months : )
