"COMPANY RESPONSE PLEASE READ - FALSE REPRESENTATION While I completely accept responsibility for having an inexperienced sales person, who is now no longer with the company, underestimate the scope of the [Member Name Removed]'s pack and move, this review is filled with inaccurate and quite frankly slanderous accusations. I have built a company focused on fairness to my crews and to my customers, with many repeat customers over the 35 years in business and over 100 A ratings on Angie's List. We at Carmack do not underbid to win business; I wouldn't set my crews up for failure like that, not to mention that isn't the way to stay in business for very long. The details are below for those of you that care about the truth. On Pack Day the crew leader alerted me that there was much more packing and work to be done than what the work order was indicating. I personally went to the job, and discussed what was estimated vs what needed to be done. Bottom line, is that I assured the Customer that the work would be done, deeply discounted the labor, as well as the packing materials to bring their total much closer to the estimated price. Please note: this was BEFORE the truck was loaded. Concerning the claim: All Customers are provided information and paperwork well in advance of their move in order to have the time to consider the Valuation options. This Customer declined full value protection prior to her move and on pack day. The move was completed on December 16th, the Customer requested a claim form on December 18th and the claim for was emailed the same day. The Customer's claim form was dated January 10th and received on January 11th and processed by the claims department as follows: Since FVP was declined, it was covered at .60 cents per pound, maximum of $50 per article, and a $250 deductible (standard coverage in the Moving Industry). The total of the claim, based on this released valuation, was less than the deductible. A letter was dated and mailed on March 1st - which was 1 month, 2 weeks, and 4 days, not several months, as alleged. Please note: The table, per the Customer submitted claim form is 300lb, 2 years old, and worth $550. It is repairable from the pictures also submitted. I will not lower myself to address the other hateful accusations in this review nor throw out any emotional rebuttals back but do invite anyone needing assurance to contact me for the facts that I can back up with not only many many referral customers but with signed paperwork from this particular customer. I happy to say that I am proud of my crews and the services we provide - even this particular customer filled out an Evaluation Form on the crews as Excellent! - Rob Carmack"
