Glenn was great. I know nothing about roofs and he explained things in such a way that I could follow right along with what he was doing. Everything was straight forward and I really appreciated that. It's awesome to find a company that's honest and really stands behind the work they do. Glenn said he tells his guys to that they take the time to get the job done right the fist time. That attention to detail is not something to take for granted. I can see why they get so many great reviews on Angie's List. My roof will need to be replaced in a few years and when that time comes I will be calling Falcon to do the work. I would highly recommend Falcon to anyone that needs roof work done

They were punctual and responsive. They told us the roof was fine and six months later I saw water spots and then we had to have our roof replaced.

Very professional to work with, they showed up when they said they would for the estimate and provided a very thorough write-up.

Glenn was very professional and friendly. His crew worked hard in the heat and were very nice and did an awesome job! Glenn was there through the whole day with his crew and was on hand to answer any questions and made sure that safety was a priority. He was sweet to our little dog and suggested doggie daycare so Paco would not be stressed, but the work was done so efficiently and quickly that all went well . Truly a professional operation and courteous service.. Great job!

Glenn was patient in explaining the roofing and with teaching me about the roof. The repair work has been holding up. He called within a day or two to try to get the work scheduled. They came back the next day to do the additional work for the attic fan and removal of attic vents and installing new flashing. My only concern was that I would have preferred to have paid half down in advance and half down when the work was completed.

Owner Glen Schrank personally provided superlative customer service covering: 1. Performed the terms of the contract perfectly (all itemized specifications completed as agreed to); 2. Provided refrences (upon request and in my neighborhood, too); 3. All work completed as priced (no hidden fees, no additional costs, and no replacement of damaged roofing plywood was required); 4. Timeliness of work (start and completion of contracted work proceeded exactly when specified); 5. Communication at all phases (consulation, contract signing, delivery of materials, starting and completion of contracted work, follow-up); 5. Respect for the condition of job-site and clean-up (no incidental damge to anything including plants and shrubs); 6. And, provided completed CertainTeed warrantee paperwork during follow-up consultation. Falcon Roofing was the only firm considered for the job and was selected solely on the basis of having the highest number of Angie's List "A" ratings of all roofers in the Northern Virginia area. And, the work was accomplished at 15% to 20% less cost than comparable jobs in my neighborhood, well under my anticipated budget. The savings was applied to new gutters, which Glen and Falcon Roofing installed the very next day on less than one day's notice. Same experience. I waited to write this review for the first big rainstorm which occurred on May 15 and everything performed to specification and expectation. Thnaks, Glen! Job well done!

First, professional, responsive, honest, upfront, and courteous. We discovered a roof leak on Saturday during a rain storm and it looked like it was coming out around a bathroom vent. I called several companies over the weekend, including Falcon Roofing. All were a week or two (some more) before anyone could check the problem. I spoke with Glen who took down our information. While he couldn't commit to anything sooner, he did say if something freed up, he would make it a point to come over and at least assess what was going on. That Monday, Glenn called my work late afternoon and would be leaving a job and could stop by if I could meet him. At the house, he assessed the roof inside the attic and outside. He evaluated where he believed the issues was, showing me by bringing a camera and showing me pictures. He sealed the areas and the problem was solved. He also gave me an assessment of the roof (it being 16 years) and did not try to oversell an immediate replacement, which I appreciated. I would use Glenn and Falcon again.

In one day, Falcon did an excellent job of replacing the old and leaking roof. The quality of the job and materials was first-rate and the clean-up was meticulous. I expect the new roof will add value to the house as the new roof is of obvious quality and very pleasing aesthetically. In addition, the new roof has a number of features that the old roof did not have like a ridge vent, drip edges on the whole roof and ice and water shield around the edge,in the roof valleys and around vents.

Provider inspected roof and sealed several areas. Provided a verbal report of roof appearance and expected longevity.

The owner, Mr. Schrank, was very prompt in responding to our request for an estimate. He stopped by the same day that we called. He was professional and knowledgeable on the scope of the work and on the selection of appropriate materials. His crew arrived promptly on installation day and worked diligently to complete all of the work in one day. They were meticulous in clean-up. The work went so smoothly -- we were delighted -- there were no surprises. And the finished roof looks great! Thank you Falcon Roofing!

They were great - they showed up on time and the quality was top notch.

Great. Glenn was very prompt and responsive. He provided the lowest bid of several local companies. I was pleasantly surprized that there was no change order or added fees: what he quoted was what I paid. I'd noticed that someone recently gave him a very low rating/ review on Angies List, but when I read it and realized that person hadn't even had services performed, I decided to go with Falcon anyway. These guys were very fast and put my roof on in one day. It looks great and they cleaned up the area leaving no debris. I recommend this company.

I had a leak in my roof, and I contacted Falcon Roofing after researching highly rated roofers in the area through Angie?s List. They were quick to return my phone call, and Glenn was able to stop by to review the issue. I was impressed with his knowledge and straightforward approach. Glenn identified the problem and offered an effective and inexpensive remedy. My roof still has a number or years of life, so I very much appreciated his not trying to sell me more than I needed. Falcon is on my list as my preferred roofer, and I would highly recommend them!

We contracted with Falcon Roofing to install a new roof on our house. We had found them on Angies List via a Big Deal previously, and they did a roof inspection, informing us that we had up to another 2 years before we would need a new roof. At that time, they also patched a leak we had in the attic. They were very responsive and punctual, installing the roof in one day and they cleaned up around the property so well, you couldn't even tell they had been there except for the new roof! The roof looks great, and we also got a great price!

He was awesome. The thing that strikes me about him is he's very meticulous and his attention to details.

Roof replacement - $6,900: Scope: roof removal & site cleanup, new roof, remove original roof vents, install ridge vent, replace powered attic fan Falcon Roofing gave me an estimate & ultimately performed the job on my roof replacement. I can say that it was one of the most painless contractor experiences in a long time - wish more jobs were with folks this easy to work with. Estimate process: Glenn, the owner, came out & was able to give me an estimate without me being there, which was great for me: I just made sure I followed up by writing down questions I had from viewing other estimates & research I had done . . . this worked out great for me. I am sure I could have been there if I wanted.When I called Glenn to go over his estimate, I found him to be a real straight talker & direct (almost blunt - but I like that!) on questions about what he thought was the best approach for replacing my roof. His no-nonsense best practices of over 40 years in the roofing business made me feel really comfortable that I would get the roof my wife & I needed, and that we wouldn't pay for things we didn't need or upgrade materials that didn't need upgrading. Glenn is of the opinion that a roof should be replaced every 20 years or so, and to not get too caught up on roofing companies or roofing material vendors that promise lifetime roofs, at least with asphalt shingles and similar products. Good to know - all I ever want from a contractor is an honest opinion on how they think the job should be done, and Falcon really aced that test for me. Once I accepted the estimate & mailed a check, it did take a little while (about 10 days) to hear back from Falcon. Falcon did let me know it would be some time before I got on the schedule. The weather was terrible in March . . . but once I did hear back it was to tell me they?d put the new roof on only 3 days later, so all was good with that one phone call. I think they get really busy when the weather gets better, so again I was fine with how that worked for me. Since I was replacing my roof & didn?t have a roofing emergency to handle, this OK by me.Things might be different if there is a bad series of storms that damage roofs in our region - the earlier you can contact Falcon, the better IMHO. The job itself went like a breeze: materials were delivered the day before & then the roofing was done in less than a day - the house is on the small side with about as vanilla a roof as you can have, so no real surprise there. The site cleanup was really good, and Glenn was very emphatic on telling me & my family to watch out for nails & sharp objects for a few months in the yard until I've had a chance to mow my lawn & do yard work a few times. They go over the site with magnets to pick up stray pieces but given the sheer number of nails being pulled off & put back on, no shock there. I have been around the house a few times & have pulled up some nails, so he wasn't kidding around, and I was glad he went to the effort to let me know. Safety: Falcon was very careful to ask if anyone would be coming into or going out of the house the day of the roof replacement - even to the point where he said if I know of anyone who might be approaching the job site that day, to have them yell to the crew to let them know they were around so nothing was thrown or tossed in their direction. Again - this may seem obvious, but he took the time to let me know & I have a latch key kid so I appreciated the thoughtfulness. In summary: I have already recommended Falcon to my friends, and this brings up the one con I have about Falcon: they only do business in Arlington & Fairfax counties. It is what it is, but now you know. I look forward to using them again . . . in 20 or so years! Gutter replacement - $1,600: Scope: 6 inch open gutter around entire house - I kept my old downspouts as they are newish & in good shape. Falcon said they'd do the gutters after the roof because it is a separate crew. They told me to expect this crew within a week but they surprised us by coming out only 2 days after the roof was done - awesome! Gutter job was done to complete satisfaction - much better than what I had as they are each a long seamless piece rather than the 4-5 foot sections the original homeowner put on. Look great, good cleanup & another great Falcon experience.

After a series of winter storms I noticed a handful of shingles had come off the roof of my three story townhome. I called a half-dozen local contractors to gauge their interest and get an estimate for repair. Glenn from Falcon Roofing called me back and did everything possible to make an excuse that my business was not worthy of his time. He's too busy. But if I needed a full roof replacement, Falcon Roofing would have probably jumped at the opportunity to do the work as soon as possible. Total waste of time and I did not appreciate the "I don't care attitude" of this particular contractor. Safe to say, I would NEVER use Falcon Roofing.

I called them and then when they found out where I was they said they could not go to Loudoun county.

Glenn showed me the damage to our old roof and provided a thorough and detailed estimate. Falcon's estimate was slightly lower than what we heard from other contractors, but it was really Glenn's responsiveness and knowledge made Falcon the best choice to do the work. They scheduled the replacement quickly, showed up on time, and finished early. Glenn and his crew thoroughly cleaned up, and even made sure I was able to safely take my dog out for a quick walk while they were working. The new roof looks great -- more importantly, we've had two major rainstorms and seven inches of snow since the work was done, and there isn't even a hint of a problem or leak. I will definitely call Glenn if we need work done on our siding or gutters.

I was very pleased with the work done and especially the time frame. I was told when I called that they would try to squeeze us in. They called us back promptly and showed up two days later to do the estimate on a Thursday and fixed the roof the following Monday because they were worried that with the missing ridge vent shingles we would get snow and/or rain inside our house. A snow storm was predicted for Tuesday! They called us on Sunday asking if they could come on Monday. Most companies would have waited to call Monday morning. One of the nicest experiences I have had using a contractor. Our roof is 15 years old and the owner did not try to get us to replace our entire roof. What he said was to watch our roof closely when it reaches age 18 - 19 years old because that's when you usually see some stuff going wrong. We will use them again. They get an A plus from us!

Falcon Roofing did an absolutely superb job in replacing our roof and gutters. In December a tree limb fell on our roof and penetrated the roof in three places. The roof needed replacing. Using Angie's List we called Falcon Roofing and they responded immediately. The old roof had a double layer of singles. Glenn Schrank, the owner, came out and gave us an estimate. He was very thorough and helpful in selecting the shingle color and pattern. He explained their use of ice and water shields along the edges of the roof, eaves, dormer valleys and roof penetrations (vent pipes, etc.). Glenn also explained that he used 30lb felt as the under layer. The price was reasonable. He suggested that we obtain the services of a painter before the gutters were replaced because of some minor wood replacement that should be done and painted before the new gutters were hung. On the appointed day Glenn arrived with his crew about 8am and began to remove the old shingles. When the singles were removed it was discovered that 8 plywood sheets needed to be replaced. This was done and the shields were placed, the 30lb felt was put down, and the shingles were laid down. Glenn and his crew were done by 6pm with all residue picked up and the ground swept with a magnet. The roof looks great and has been well tested with all the snow and water. Once we had the carpentry work and outside painting finished, Glenn Shrank returned with the crew that installs gutters. As suggested we chose 6 inch gutters. They were installed in a half day and the color matching was exceptional. We are very pleased with outstanding work done by Falcon Roofing. I would recommend Falcon Roofing to anyone who needs to have their roof replaced.

I should have written this review years ago because Glenn did us a great favor. Concerned about a few loose shingles, I purchased the special offer Roof Maintenance Package. Before my appointment to have the roof inspected, we realized that we were going to be in the path of Hurricane Irene that was threatening the entire east coast. I called Glenn & he came over late on a Friday night (we weren?t even home) and reattached the loose shingles before the storm hit. Some days later he inspected the roof and found the rest of it to be in good condition. If I could have, I would have given him an A+ for responsiveness.

These guys are professional and do great work. Worked with me through the entire process and didn't try to force any extra products for the job. That did exactly what I wanted and I would not hesitate to call them in the future for any other roof work.

Over all, I had a positive experience with Falcon Roofing. My only critique is that they took on more work than they could handle when they advertised the Big Deal with Angie's list. I called in January and they were not able to give me an appointment any day of the week until mid-March. I believe in a regular context, free from the crush of Angie's List customers, they would be a good choice for roof service.

It turned out very well. They didn't even have to take any pictures because there was not any specific damaged areas or anything. The roof was old so they said it would probably be 2-3 years before we should start thinking about replacing it but there was no pressure. I do remember they gave a window for coming and they came at the early part of the window. I had bought the deal and it had gone past the expiration date and I called Angie's List about it and they suggested that I call them, that they might possibly still honor it so I did call them and they did honor it after the expiration date. All of those things are very positive. They didn't put on a roof or anything but they were timely. They honored an expired "Big Deal", and they were very knowledgeable. They were willing to, even though we didn't need a roof right away, they showed me what would be available when we were ready. We're very pleased.
