Veteran Pest & Wildlife Services

I called Veteran's on Tuesday after another company failed to show up because they "forgot to write my appointment down".  Morgan and Justin were great. They scheduled me for just a few days later and answered all my pre-service questions.  They should up when they said they would, were fast, knowledgable and didn't try to "upsell"--I actually sold myself and made an appointment for a mosquito treatment. I'll update the review once I've confirmed what they did to treat our ant issue worked!

It went well.  There was some rescheduling due to inclement weather.

Sole owner, Morgan Jones, showed up on time as scheduled.  Very courteous and efficient. Before entering house, he immediately donned booties in consideration of cleanliness of customer home.  We suspected we had squirrels in attic, but upon inspection, Mr Jones determined we only had evidence of mice (droppings).  He advised we set mouse traps using peanut butter as bait since it is more effective than cheese.  When asked how much we owed for his inspection service and advice, he stated that inspections are gratis. This free service is one of the major advantages of consulting small firms which do not have large overheads (advertising, staffing, vehicle fleets, etc.)  This was undoubtedly one of the best experiences I ever had with a service provider.

About 10 days ago [on a Sunday], I heard a noise in the attic...wasn't sure if it was a squirrel or a raccoon, but panicked at the thought of all the possible damage.  I found Veteran Pest on Angies List and saw that they had excellent reviews, so I immediately sent them an email.  I wasn't expecting to hear from them until the next business day, but Morgan Jones, the owner of the business, called me back within 2 hours.  He was informative, eloquent and personable, and told me he would be out the next day.  When Morgan arrived on Monday, he went up into the attic, took pictures of what he saw, confirmed that it was a squirrel -- as he saw it run out.  Even more, Morgan noticed that the duct pipe which delivers carbon monoxide from the furnace to the outdoors had come apart so that carbon monoxide was escaping into our attic.! He told me that whether or not I decided to retain his services to remove the squirrel, he was going to get some equipment and go back up into the attic and seal the duct...and he did.  He also pointed out a leaky "boot" around one of the chimney ducts and took pictures of the wet boards and suggested we have a roofer take a look at that before we sustained any additional water damage.  We had a roofer out 2 days later who confirmed just what Morgan had seen.  
Morgan and Jay came back today and removed "Rocky" from our attic and sealed all the openings.  Veteran Pest offers a 5-year guarantee...  Morgan saw some rodent droppings but wasn't sure how recent they were.  He put down bait traps just to be sure and said he will be back to check on them in the spring....and will recheck the attic for us.  NONE of the commercial services I spoke with can come close to the quality of service, guarantee and reasonable prices offered by Veteran Pest.  Morgan's degree in environmental science and his experience as a home inspector set him above and beyond any of the competition.  We are EXTREMELY pleased with the service we received from Veteran Pest...and we can't say enough good things about Morgan!  He is a young man with values, honor and integrity......an all too rare find in the business world these days.  Thank you, Morgan!!

The process went very smoothly.  When an animal was trapped, Veterans came immediately and removed it.  The serviceman was very professional, friendly and punctual.  Calls were returned immediately.
Overall, I was very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone with a similar problem.

I was first introduced to Morgan in Sept/Oct of 2012 when my buyers agent recommended him after we realized we had raccoons in a crawl space shortly after buying our home. Morgan was great at hand-holding this former rent-paying, landlord-dependent apartment dweller and came up with a great plan for capturing and removing the raccoons from a crawl space that wasn't large enough for the trap. For $425 he baited and set the cruelty-free traps and removed the raccoons as we caught them, and once we felt fairly certain they had all been trapped and removed, patched up the opening that they were using for an access. When more raccoons moved in in the spring of 2013, Morgan brought the traps out again under the original agreement (which included a year of trapping and removal) and we captured two more raccoons that had moved in. Morgan patched up the hole again and we have had no troubles since then. I highly recommend Morgan's services.

Quite professional, punctual, kept me informed of entire process.  Price included a return visit and inspection to be sure bats are no longer present.  Owner did oversee entire operation for QA.

Morgan was timely, explained everything and called to let me know he was running late by a few minutes due to traffic. He took a picture of where the squirrel had chewed through the wood to access the attic so I could see the damage. The only reason I gave a "B" on price rather than an "A"  is I didn't shop around so I do not have a comparison point.  I would not hesitate to call them again.

He has been persistent and timely in his continuing pursuit to re-treat and re-trap.  His efforts and results were beyond my expectations.  I can't imagine any company or individual performing a more admirable effort.  Our attic is configured in such a way that the primary area of infestation is covered by plywood and structural beams.  Regardless of the obstacles, Morgan continues to visit our house on a regular basis to pursue the creatures and retreat and re-bait the traps. A top notch performance.

Services were provided as agreed, on time, on budget, with quality.  What more can you ask?

He called ahead to give a better estimate of his arrival time. He arrived within the time frame he gave. He had the necessary tools to take care of the issue. He gave follow up info. I contacted this company out of sheer frustration at trying to trap a squirrel in my attic.  I was using a pest control company that just wasn't getting the job done and I was feeling desperate.  The owner, Morgan Jones is such a nice guy.  He spent a lot of his time with me on the phone explaining what the other people were doing wrong and what avenues I should pursue to remedy the situation.  I appreciated how honest he was and the advice he gave despite the fact that I was using someone else.  The next day he followed up with me to see how everything was going and I was able to inform him that the squirrel in my attic had FINALLY been caught.  If I ever have another pest problem in the future, I have this companies number at the ready.  I think he really knows his stuff...and he'll even forgive you for feeling frustrated and desperate in your time of need--which is an added bonus!  ;)

Morgan initially provided a termite inspection and has performed quarterly pest control services at our home. He has also come out to address a carpenter ant problem which he successfully resolved.

Although the end result was not what I would have liked, this job was handled professionally and expertly. Traps were baited and monitored regularly. On every visit Mr. Jones was on time--to the minute! The attic clean-up was thorough. Louvered attic vents were all re-screened with a heavy-duty wire mesh. The roof entry point was not just closed up , but Mr. Jones actually painted the new board! And, there's a 5-year warranty on the job. I recommend this company very highly.
