"When I went out to look at the scope of work that needed to be done there was a lot of wood rot behind the bushes that the home owner did not know about or at least he looked like he didn't know about it.There are a lot of people around here that really don't know how to take care of there home and when they find out that the neglect has caught up with them and it needs to be repaired. They see deals like this on Angie's list and they think they can get the whole house repaired for $149.00. There are a lot of guys around here that work out of the trunk of there cars and think that they are a carpenters. So you get what you pay for..... My estimate was @ a handy man rate of $95.00 an hour for a class A general contractor to do finish carpenter work. We also gave you a ball park price to use composite/pvc materials. I can't say if the people that you found are as Qualified as my Company or if their Insurance and licensing is up to date. Or if they will use the same type of materials. You get what you Pay For.....Best of luck and thanks for your input."

The work was done as requested on the day they stated, but the had to come back to finish up the next day. The work looks great and I would use them again, but I thought the estimate was a little high for the amount of work to be done. I was told it would be an all day job. I guess the materials were at a higher cost than we assumed and we bought our own paint.

"Wow It is funny how people think it is so easy to work 24 feet high on a ladder.This job was not just replacing one piece of wood.It was a complete cornice with crown molding and two large blocks of wood that were nailed to the brick.I would have needed to use a man lift to be able to remove the piece safely because of all the pulling and prying to remove the pieces.It would be very dangerous and you could fall very easily on to the concrete drive way 24ft below.I would have to rebuild them on the ground cut all the crown molding reassemble and paint them .It also had no metal cap on top that needed to be installed to keep it from rotting out again.If you break it down the lift would cost about $700.00 for the day plus delivery and pickup $250.00. The materials would cost around$800.00 for all composite/pvc stock so it would not rot out again It would take a very good carpenter and metal guy to put this all together and reattach to the brick face so $1750.00 for the lift and materials leaves $1450.00 for two guys to work all day that would be less than handyman rates and a handyman could not do this kind of work. If the homeowner had read the big deal fine print he would have seen that any repair about one story would not be covered on this deal. I also gave him another option to just repair and paint and install a new metal cap to keep it from rotting out again for half the price.I guess he just wanted it done for the $150 big deal price and I told him he could get a refund because the big deal didn't apply for two story work.Coupons don't have a spirit to them they are fact....People that don't understand or have any clue about how to work or take care of a home should not try to learn about it in ten minuets on the internet and think they know it all....And then just go try to trash a Professional like my self that has 30 years in the business and would try to help anyone any time to get things fixed correctly.I didn't have to even credit $ 150 in the job because it was not included but being the nice guy that I am I was trying to help him save his $150.For all that time spent estimating the job and giving him options. He gives me a C rating and says I am way to expensive.I am one of the best "A" class GENERAL CONTRACTORS in Northern Virginia and people like this should be happy that people like myself are still here to do work like this just look at the rest of my references on here ALL "A" and that is that way I want to keep it if he had a problem understanding how much it cost we could have talked about it so he could understand but instead he just he just gave me a bad review and there was never any WORK DONE !!!!! I am so easy to talk to but some people don't know how to communicate so they get on the computer and make a fool out of themselves in public.So people you just can't help. Sorry that you don't understand or communicate very well.....I hope you have better luck next time Angies List is a great co and they do a Great job helping people get things done."

"I would like to set the record straight.I never told anyone that we would do any treatment for anything.I told her this is just for inspection only.The house is in need of a lot of repairs. I gave her an estimate for and tried to contact her by phone and email she never returned any of my calls.I think this is a big miss understanding.I was also at her house for about 45 minutes taking pictures and working on an estimate.I would never treat any one this way. I am shocked that she would say the things she has said about me and my co.If she had read the info she would have known that this was for inspection only.I think I woke her up when I got there at 11:00 am that was the time she wanted me there. I could not get into the attic because it was locked and she could not find the keys that is a big part of our inspection that I could not do.look at all my other reviews how is this possible that she is the only one that had a problem over $85.00 dollars. If she would have returned my calls and talked to me about this I would have refunded her money.I was never given a chance talk to her about this.The first thing I know is the review she wrote.I have never in thirty years had anything like this been said about myself or my co.I am very sorry that she miss understood what she was getting I think there was a language problem.But I tried my best like always.
