I hired them for a master bathroom rebuild/remodel after a tree fell on it. I have not had a pleasant experience or feel as if I as the customer mattered. I was provided poor customer service & poor communications. No project management. You are own your own to coordinate with everyone there. No one person is looking out for you and coordinating amoungst all their staff on your behalf. Project took 5 months just to start and started when they initially told me it would be finished. Once it started they said it would take another 5-6 months to complete however they apparently didn't order any materials until five months in and with supply issues are unable to get some of the materials which has now extended the completion for an additional few months. So my restoration job which they said would take 5 months total is now looking like 11 months. I'm frustrated, upset and feel like I'm a prisoner and they are the warden. During this time I've had a portion of my house in shambles to include a massive hole it letting animals and cold air in. I can continue listing out all the disappointments, all of the broken promises, all of the delays and there associated excuses. However I'm exhausted with all this. I'll update this post should things change for the better or worse. At this point in time I would NOT recommend them for a rebuild/remodel large loss job.

The repairs done by the construction crew, the tiler, plumber and painters were all done expertly well. It was all done in a timely fashion, overseen with attention to every detail by the coordinator, Michael Beck. We are very pleased with this company.

The Paul Davis team was extremely good about getting back to us right away. They worked with our schedule to find the right time to help us, even though there had been some heavy rain & likely lots of people trying to get appointments at the same time. The good manners of their support staff on the phone was confirmed by the words & actions of the techs who showed up here to assess the damage to our roof & closet. Fortunately we only needed some hardware tightened up on our roof.

Sam Thompson kept the communication going at all times. He's very knowledgeable. They did an amazing job with the clean up and he even helped to talk to my insurance about the damage. Thank you!

The estimate was botched multiple times and had to resubmitted again and again.  Poor communication throughout.  Took months for full repair to be done, and multiple months after to get the payment straight.  The floor replacement was completely botched the first time and had to be redone completely.  The house was left dirty and unsafe for our children after the first replacement.

"Ms. {member name removed}, While pleased that we were able to complete the water mitigation at your property within 3 days, the duration of and your concern about the restoration quality of this claim that was tied to your mortgage will be discussed at our team meeting. We only had only about 2 or 2 and half inches of water, and that can do some real bad damage to the things on the floor. We didn't do anything to take care of that because we had to take care of my toe that was hurt. We have had our two children who both of whom have gone through divorces move in with us, and then move out, and when they move out, they leave the stuff that they don't want down at the basement, so it was a nice way to clean the basement because we had to throw out the things that were damaged. Paul Davis coming out was fortunate, because they showed in a timely manner, and got here very promptly. This area was hardest hit by a tremendous rain that we had. A lot of homes got flooded. We must have had 4 or 5 workers, and they it in a timely manner.  The whole experience was very professional, a lot of hard work because going up and down the stairs is tough, and they had to do that many times. They did it cheerfully, promptly and with expertise. They got the stuff that had to be thrown away out of the basement, and it was a big mess, and they did it very well. I had a feeling that some of them were temp people, but these guys were very professional, and they were very good at what they did, and it was a lot of hard work, but they got on with it.

A pipe burst in our basement which caused water damage to two walls and flooding on the floor (the basement is finished). I called our insurance company to initiate the claim, and the young lady I spoke to gave me the names of a few companies that they worked with in our area for water damage restoration. I immediately called Paul Davis Restoration and spoke with Danielle. She took down all the important information about our incident, and said that someone would be contacting me within 30 minutes.
Kevin called within the specified window (being a Sunday afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised), and explained how busy they were. He said that it would be Wednesday before someone would be able to get to our house. He also suggested I contact other restoration companies to see if anyone else could get to us sooner. I told him that Wednesday would be okay, that my husband and I were managing with a shop-vac to keep ahead of the flooding.
On Tuesday morning I called Paul Davis Restoration back to verify that someone would be coming out Wednesday. I was told that the scheduler would get back to me later with specific information. When no return call came in by mid-afternoon I called them back. I was told at that time that we were only on a wait list, not the actual schedule, and that they would not be able to get us on the schedule until the middle of the following week! I told the young lady with whom I spoke that that was not my understanding at all, that Kevin never once said that we were going to be on a wait list for service. She was very apologetic, but completely unable to help me further. I promptly jumped onto Angie's List and found another restoration company who was able to come out the following day. (They also received a review from me.)
I gave this company a B on responsiveness because they did in fact contact me promptly after the original call on Sunday.
I gave this company an F on professionalism because of the misinformation they provided on when someone could get to my house for service. During what is obviously prime season for burst pipes, I feel they (Kevin specifically) should have been more clear about the difference between being on a wait list and actually being on the schedule.

Displaced in hotel with 4 animals for over a month while they took there time getting things done. Painters did a lousy job, used cheap paint and it took four coats because of the cheap paint to cover the walls. Coordination was none existent, Project Manager never returned a single phone call, it took me calling the companies office in Sterling, VA to have the PM call me and still didn't call till hours later. Besides the fact that USAA took care of the insurance part, we paid out of pocket for the areas of the house that weren't covered by the insurance for painting the hallways and dining room area to match the rest of the house and they could get the ryder correct. Total lack of attention to detail.

During the recent heavy rains we noticed a small water spot on our ceiling and made note to get someone out to look at it after the weather dried out. Later that evening (Friday night of course) when the rain intensified for more than an hour, water began streaming into the house where our single story den ceiling meets the two-story portion of the house. I called the insurance company and we put down towels to soak up the water.
Josh from Paul Davis called me on Monday to schedule a time to come out, he and a co-worker with expertise in cedar shake roofing came out at the end of the day. I showed them the damage, they tested the hardwood flooring for signs of water (there was none) and the ceiling drywall around the area which was all saturated. The other guy got up on the roof to take a look to see if there was any storm damage to the roof. Josh told me what he was going to write up and submit to my insurer and what he expected to happen. Of note, although I paid $500 for this service as indicated, this was my insurance deductible. Had I paid for this myself, the bill would have been somewhere in the $5,000 range.
Later that week another pair of men came out to set up drying equipment and went in the attic to check for other moisture. Unfortunately, one of them slipped on some insulation and fell through the ceiling in our foyer leaving a gaping hole and dumping insulation all over our stairwell and foyer, luckily he was not injured. They stayed and cleaned everything up and put plastic over the hole. This was a very exciting thing for our toddler to witness and she still mentions the man falling through the ceiling on occasion.
After the dehumidifiers had been in the house for several days (and they needed to check them every day) the moisture level had not dropped enough so only then did they rip out all the drywall and insulation down to the studs. The next day drying was complete. At this point it was a fight with my insurance agency over what they would cover, they refused to cover fixing the roof so I had to get quotes and schedule it to be repaired before PD could complete the indoor damage repair. We were contacted by another representative from the company, I believe his name was Charles (I guess we got passed off from Josh). He came out and looked at the new damage and scheduled to have the drywall/painting subcontractor come out to fix the man-made hole. The sub arrived on time and the PD rep was there to go over the job, they finished in a few hours and did a great job (I will review their business separately).
The next day our roofing contractor came out and performed the repairs to stop the leak. Then Paul Davis scheduled the rest of the damage repair and painting. The same crew arrived, again on time, and went over the job with the PD rep who also came out. The subs did a very thorough job of masking and drop-clothing our kitchen/den and worked all day fixing the damage to include: new drywall, new wood trim pieces, and complete painting of the kitchen ceiling through the den, and walls and judge's panelling in the den. They stayed pretty late (~6:30) to finish everything in one day. The Paul Davis rep came back a few days later to go over everything and make sure we were satisfied. There was one small spot where the sub had used gloss paint on the edge of the ceiling so they came back out to touch that up (took only 20 minutes).
Bottom line: I was happy with the service from Paul Davis Restoration and with the quality of the subcontractor they used. Some instances I thought they could have communicated better (for instance repeatedly calling my home phone and leaving messages when I provided them my cell phone). But overall they performed the service well and the quality of the work was high.

We were not perfectly impressed with them. What happened was that we had damage to our house and they came out for an emergency service and granted it was Memorial Day weekend but when they came out, they were not prepared to do the job that we had told them that they needed to do. We had told them that they needed to shore up the foundation and they did not come out with a plywood or the supplies ready to do that. They were thinking that it was just water damage and they were ready to take water out of the basement but there was not any flooding. They did not come prepared to do the job that they said they were going to do. First off, it took about three phone calls to get somebody to answer their emergency number and then when we finally got them and they came out, they came out for the wrong things and then they had to call and it was another two hours before the supplies were there so that they could do the shoring up job. They went through our insurance so the service was part of our deductible. What they did is they put a plywood to make sure that no critters, no water and nothing could come into the foundation. It was just a one shot emergency deal. As a result of that though with the way that they handled that, we decided that we did not want to have them do the full job. We would definitely not use them again.

During the recent storm we had damage to the siding on our house. We contacted our insurance company and they recommended Paul Davis Restoration. We were told we would hear from them in a few days. The company contacted us two days later, scheduled an appointment and came out to look at the damage. This company was extremely responsive, and professional. Throughout the entire process we received phone calls from them updating us on the status of the material order and the work to be performed. If we called with a question, someone returned our call within hours, often sooner. We were given the name of the project manager and he contacted us immediately and stayed in touch with us throughout the entire process. The supervisor assigned to the job contacted us and and was on site the day the work was completed. We have had many companies come out to do repairs at our home, but we have never experienced one this professional. We will absolutely call them again for future work we need done in our home. They have top quality people and do top quality work.
