Blue Moon Construction

Blue Moon- Bottom line: proceed with caution....I was leary about doing business with this company or any of them to be honest, so I really did some digging to eliminate as much risk as possible.  Somehow, mostly based on price, Blue Moon won out over 2 other contractors.  Now, having done business with them, I wouldn't use your money to have them do work on my house again.  Here is why.  No respect for customers whose time, money, and property is consumed while engaged with a project with them.  My project, scheduled to take 30 days, took well over 6 months.  And we are still arguing over issues.  The contract itself was riddled with "inconsistencies" had I not caught would have resulted in me paying an additional $1800 dollars more than the agreed upon total cost of the project.  I see that as a huge knock on professionalism, honesty, and trust and judging by the reaction I got when i challenged JK (the owner), I don't think the "numbers game" was a mistake but a deliberate attempt to cheat me out of some money. The time it took to complete the project, combined with the non-responsiveness of management (I e-mailed JK once during the project timeline and asked for him to give me a call to clear up an issue- he responded with his phone was broken and he had no way to call), on top of the issue with the contract by itself was enough to warrant my low ratings, but there was another issue with the landscaping.  7 out of 19 trees/plants died within 2 months of being planted.  There were several issues with the way the trees were planted that contributed to their death.  I did all the due diligence on my part to care for the plants, and kept  JK informed along the way, but when it became clear to me that the trees were dead, I asked for them to be replaced.  Every reputable nursery replaces plants and provide a warranty up to six months.  JK actually came out to home after weeks of me trying to contact him, he dug up 3 dead plants, put some dirt down, and tried to convince me that the trees were still alive and would come back(turn green again) next season.  Absurd!!!  I eventually replaced the dead trees, but obviously, as a customer I am not happy about it.
Summary:  The deck and the patio work was completed.  In the process, I had to patiently endure a lack of timeliness, professionalism, courtesy, and out right being lied to.  I told JK before he started on my project, "I already have enough stress in my life, don't need a patio to be another source of it".  That is exactly what it turned out be.  I would not use your money to do business with Blue Moon Construction again, let alone my own.

We hired Blue Moon to construct an outdoor grill island and pergola.  The design portion of the experience was good.  It was an interesting design that captured our desires.  Our initial meeting with John was good and we felt like we had made a good choice of contractors.  We met at his design center, made our material choices, looked at the schedule (laid out by Blue Moon) on project completion and left feeling happy.  Within a couple days they showed up at our house and ripped up the patio pavers in the back of our house, dug 4 very large holes for the pergola posts, left a disorganized and dangerous disaster of a work site right outside my back door and failed to show up to do any more work for about 2 weeks.  That set the tone for the rest of our project.  The work was hit or miss from that point forward.  I had some other projects being completed that were time sensitive and would be impacted by the work being done by Blue Moon.  This was all agreed to upfront, but Blue Moon failed to live up to the schedule they laid out.  On the occasions when the crews would show up, they were messy, failed to clean up after themselves and were extremely slow.  They would fail to show up for a week or more at a time and after one particularly long absence, come to my house only to pick up all their equipment and abandon my project for another week.  I would call John to ask what was going on and would get nothing but empty words and hollow promises and him explaining to me that he had no control over his crews and that they probably left to do another job that he didn't know about.  I came home unannounced one day to find the work crew sitting accomplishing no work (they did not know I was there) - this was not a break because it lasted for 2 hours and was not at lunch time.  Needless to say - the project took well over twice (almost 3 times) as long as originally scheduled and was more that frustrating from start to finish.  While that may be annoying, it's not the reason for my one star rating.  The quality of the work is amateur at best. The pergola finish work is sloppy with nails sticking out of the wood, they sprayed concrete stain all over the back of my house, and they even smashed a large section of my gutters while installing the pergola posts.   It was very obvious this company has no expertise in pouring concrete counter tops.  A section of the concrete failed immediately and John's idea of a fix was to epoxy the parts that broke off back on.  Needless to say, it looks horrible.  The stain and sealer were put on before the concrete cured and in below freezing temps resulting in both immediately peeling off.  The LED lights that were installed never worked and when John came over to get his last payment he told me he would get it fixed, taking the remote and promising he would bring me a new one.  Another empty promise from Blue Moon.  Yes, I should not have given him the final payment until everything was perfect, but John is a likable guy and talks a good game.  Within a month of "completion", the concrete counter top started developing very large cracks across the width of the counter and a 4 foot section of the edge broke off.  I contacted Blue Moon for warranty work on my 4 month old grill island and after much assurance that Blue Moon stands 100% behind their products they sent someone out to fix it.  The fix was to cut a 4 foot pie shaped piece out of the counter and pour new concrete there and then to never show up again and fail to respond to any of my e-mails.  I now have a mismatched counter, my grill has been pulled out of place and not reset, and the forms for the concrete section they poured are still in place - it looks great!  I'll get some pictures posted to show the quality of Blue Moon's work.  I truly wish things had not gone like this.  I'm very disappointed in the entire experience with this company and the final product is a disaster.  I caution anyone dealing with this company to research their work.  My project might be the anomaly, but I believe the approach to customer service, communication during the project and warranty work after the project displayed by Blue Moon should give any potential customers pause.

They did a bid for me.  It was fine.  I got to sit down now and figure out what I am going to do.

The process was so easy and the floor turned out beautifully. They even fixed all of the creaks that our old floor used to have.  We had no problems during the process or any issues after the floor was put down and we are so happy we chose to do it. The crew that put the floors down was fast and efficient and did an excellent job. The best part was working with Justin! He was so helpful and answered all of our questions. He was sensitive to our time frame and our budget. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience and fabulous floors to show for it! He helped us make our home look like it should and we would highly recommend Blue Moon's services to anyone looking to put in new floors or do other projects in their home. I know we'll be a customer of Blue Moon Construction and Justin for our future projects as well!

We new we would need to remodel our master bathroom when we purchased this house in June. We had several estimates before hiring Blue Moon. Blue Moon came in the highest of all our estimates, but Justin seemed to be the most detail oriented and observant of the contractors. That's what sold us. We were promised it would only take 3-5 days for the entire job, start to finish. I thought that estimate was unbelievable, and it turned out it was. The job started off bad and continued to get worse as it went on. They promised it would only take 3-5 days, they wouldn't start until all the materials were on site, they wouldn't stop working until the job was done, we'd get 10% off at Home Depot for anything relating to the job, they'd help us with the design phase, etc. They failed to deliver on every promise made.
The design phase of the project was literally ten minutes in the owner's basement with Home Depot catalog. That was it. They let me borrow it for one night. That was all the help we got with the entire design. My wife and I had to go from store to store researching materials, hunting down products, and learning what would work and what wouldn't. Justin had promised 10% off at Home Depot (many, many times). It turns out that just isn't the case for their customers. The truth is Blue Moon gets up to 10% off, but they mark up everything by 10%. The best price you can get is standard retail, the worst would be 10% over retail. They really misrepresented that on numerous occasions. Blue Moon offers a guarantee on anything purchased through them, though after dealing with them, I wouldn't trust that for a minute.
Justin gave us less than 17 hours notice of the start of the job. We had no choice, start the next morning or wait weeks. After the first day of demolition, my wife asked if the subcontractors if they were on target to finish in five days. They laughed and said there'd be no way they could finish the job in that time. They told us it was more like a three week job. My wife and I had made arrangements to take off work for the contractors because we have three cats and they can't be locked up during the day. Finding out it was going to take three weeks or longer was h****** us because we had no time to plan.
It became immediately apparent that Justin didn't understand how their business works and that he didn't know anything about working estimates for construction. He was a salesman, and that's it. He was there to tell us what we wanted to hear to get the job. I regret not seeing through that. It was only well into the project that we learned how far off he was on everything he told us in the beginning.
At this stage I had wanted to fire them and hire someone else. My wife convinced me they could still do a good job. I confronted JK, the owner, about our experience at that point. He told me he couldn't argue with any of my complaints. He offered to come over and apologize for Justin's and the company's mistakes. His "apology" to my wife (I hadn't made it home yet), turned out to be a backhanded way of accusing her of derailing the whole project. My wife did no such thing and coming into my house under the pretense of an apology only to accuse her (when I wasn't around) of wrongdoing was a sleazy thing to do. I confronted JK about it, but as with most of the conversations I had with him, he deflected it back on us. 
The job took close to three months to finish, a far cry from the 3-5 days they estimated! It also required numerous calls for them to come back because of poor workmanship, substandard materials used, and hurried work. Overall, the bathroom turned out okay, but to this day, the grout is still cracking, I'm am still finding paint splattered all over everything, and numerous other issues I just didn't want them making worse by calling them back to fix it again. For example, we called them no less than three times to fix all the cracking grout in the bathroom. They used cheap grout and it continues to crack. I ended up having to buy my own (better quality) and doing it myself. There's a point where I had to say enough's enough! JK actually wrote me, in an email, and told me we should be thankful they were coming out to fix their mistakes! I am willing to pass on all my conversations with JK and co. to anyone who wants proof of all of this.
I really regret using them. While some of the subcontractors did excellent work, some did very lousy work. Blue Moon tries to set itself apart from others by promising the world and charging for it as well. One thing's true, you'll definitely pay more for them, but that's about it. At the end, I am left with a bathroom I don't trust to last, months of work missed, their work to finish, and a sour taste in my mouth from dealing with such a bad company.

Based on the response here from Blue Moon, it's clear that what I wrote in my review is true. They didn't even have all the materials on site and had to walk away from the job for a week after demolition because of that. I can add up all the days Blue Moon's workers were here and it still took much longer than the revised estimate. Please don't blame that on my cats.

As for promptness to respond to our concerns and problems, it was laughable. Please log into the Co-construct site and see how many times we asked questions and voiced concerns MULTIPLE times with no answer. I can't count how many times we had to call Dave because no one would respond to Blue Moon's preferred method of communication.

Tiles were literally falling out of the wall, paint everywhere, gaping holes in the grout, illegally charging my credit card without telling me, telling me I'm lucky you'll fix it, and that makes me hard to please?!? How can that be my fault? As I mentioned in emails, I never expected perfection, but I also never expected an experience with a company that blames me for their mistakes. Again, I have emails with them backing up my version of this review. Other customers may have good experiences with them, but this one didn't. 

John and his team were absolutely fantastic to deal with.  We had a total of 5 bids for the areaway, but John and Blue Moon were the only ones interested in doing all of our projects.  John met us and took the time to carefully explain how they would propose to do the work, and he was very honest and put several of our worries at ease.  His proposal was very thorough and provided us with everything we needed to make them our contractor of choice.
Alex (our PM) was amazing to work with.  He was always available and very prompt in answering our questions.  He and all the other Blue Moon employees and their subs were very courteous and professional.  The finished projects look amazing.  I would highly recommend Blue Moon, and look forward to having them work on our home again soon.

We were very thorough(or thought we were) when choosing someone to use to remodel our kitchen. We took 6 months and met with A LOT of people. Blue Moon had good ratings on BBB, Angie's List, and a work friend had used them. We were very impressed with Justin, our first contact with Blue Moon. He was prompt. He gave us great ideas. He got back to us. He responded when we had questions. He showed up when he said he would. We made our initial payment towards the end of May. We had been told that they would be able to start within 2 to 3 weeks. We were also told that they were expecting the job to take 2 to 3 weeks. Of course, we questioned this. I told them I would rather have a longer estimate and it finish sooner than expected. They again said this is the time frame they were expecting. All of this sounded great. We ordered our appliances, sink, faucet, and cabinet pulls on our own. We had to have the measurements for these items to them before the job, so they could make sure everything would fit properly which makes sense.
Construction began July 24( about two months after initial payment in May). Alex was our project manager. The first 10 days or so went great and seemed to be proceeding quickly. Here is a summary of our experience. I will start out with the positives. 
Tile floor - We were very happy with the installation of the tile. It looks great. The crown moulding in the kitchen was done well. We also have crown on the cabinets which I will address later. The tile backsplash looks great, but there is a lot of cracking already in the grout. We appreciated the suggestion to upgrade baseboards so that they would all be the same size on the main floor. They did a great job cleaning up each day and leaving things neat as possible with something like this.
Grout- We have two areas where the grout still looks awful. They have repaired at least 4 times. The area where the grout meets the landing going downstairs. The grout is no longer cracking which is great. However, there is grout on the baseboards, tile, and it is just messy. The other place where we have a grout problem is where the tile meets up with door to the garage.
Paint- Initially, they did not fill holes.  I noticed this when they were painting and tried to communicate with the workers, but I quickly realized they did not understand a word I was saying as there was a language barrier. Alex would come in the mornings for an hour or so, and then the workers would be there all day completing the work.  The next morning I let Alex know. I was there when he tried to explain to them. That day I was not at home. When I arrived home, holes were still not filled. They did fill them the next day. We had gone over all this with Justin when going over what we would like done with the painting.
They painted period. There was no sanding if there was a rough spot. There was paint on everything - hardwood, banisters, new tile, toilet and sink in bathroom, carpet, door knobs, towel racks, etc. They did not remove towel racks, door knobs, etc to paint, so there were white marks around that they could not reach that had to be redone.  They washed their paint brushes in my guest room sink.
 Cabinets- We have five drawers that all had to be reordered after installing cabinet pulls as they were all damaged by installation. There were drawers that had to be reordered a second time because they had difficulties installing the cups we had purchased. The panels for the side of the cabinets were in bad shape, knicked, etc. They were replaced. They finally ended up putting panels on the side. When they installed the panels the first time, a couple hours after they left they were coming apart from the cabinets. They did come back promptly to fix, but one panel has a crack in the finish now. We have one drawer that has been coming off the tracks since they were installed. They have been out to look at numerous times. New hardware was ordered and installed. The drawer continues to come off the track. They have shown us how to get the drawer back on track, but I don't think that I should be having a drawer in brand new cabinets that comes off the track more than once or week or ever for that matter.  My 30 year old cabinets never had drawers that came off the track. In March, we asked them to order new clips which we are waiting to have installed. We have also requested that they lock this drawer in place in hopes that this will remedy our problem. The glass doors on the cabinets are not close enough together. I had JK(owner), Geoff (cabinet), and Alex (project manager) come out to look at it and they had come up with a way to get it closer. This never happened. 
Granite- When they came to cut the holes for the faucet, they forgot to cut a hole for the soap dispenser. They came back and cut a hole for the dispenser. When we got home that night, we were looking at everything a found a nice sized knick in the granite. Of course, it was where the granite meets the sink. They did come and smooth it, but the sides are not even.
Toe kick (cabinets)- The size of the toe kick was not the same height all the way around. I had to point that out and they did repair.
Crown moulding on cabinets- Had to have repairs. Seams not straight. Chipped in one spot.
Appliances- we have had some sort of problem with all of the appliances they installed. All issues related to installation.
The refrigerator's water line was attached to the back of the refrigerator at the wrong place and was making a horrible sound. We had to pay to have Best Buy to come out and figure out what was wrong. We had to pay since Blue Moon installed not Best Buy.
The stove was originally protruding 3 inches from the wall. After we complained, they were able to move it back slightly. It is now only sticking out 1 inch. Still annoying. They had all measurements for appliances beforehand, so I do not understand why it has to be this way.
Dishwasher is not flush with cabinets. Everyone that comes into my kitchen tries to close the door and then realizes it is closed - just sticking out. Our NEW dishwasher started leaking last weekend. The repairman that came out checked the waterline. It had not been tightened. He said he had to turn it 12 times to make it tight. At first, he thought that it had been worn down which shouldn't happen this soon. He spoke to me about the installation of the dishwasher when he saw how far it protruded. I asked him if there was a reason that it should stick out that far. And, he said there is nothing else behind the dishwasher that would require them to leave it out that far.
Hardwood was scratched when moving furniture back. They slid it across floor rather than lifting.
My biggest complaint is that we had to point out all of these things. It was exhausting and constant. I could see them missing a couple things here or there, but this is a lot of details that were missed. They did respond when I reached out to them and attempted to make them right. Several things they were able to correct. There are a lot of things they were not able to make right. But, I think that they should do their best to fix these things before the client sees them or have the skills to do it right the first time. By the end we were so tired of it all, we let some things go because we just felt like they had worn us down. 
Other than a few things ( grout, space between glass doors, damaged panel, dishwasher protruding, stove not back to the wall, etc), we like how the kitchen turned out. We are happy with our selections.  It just did not need to be this painful or take this long to complete this project. It took away a lot of the excitement of the new kithcen.  We need to remodel our master bath and were hoping that whoever we had do the kitchen could then do the bath, as well. Unfortunately, we will have to start the process over of trying to find someone.

We met with Blue Moon to discuss a bathroom remodel. We explained that we were also looking for a contractor that we could use for future home improvement projects. They were polite, professional and came out to give us an estimate. We had spoken with 2 other contractors, but were most impressed with Blue Moon. Unfortunately, their estimate came in higher than we were comfortable with. When we tried to negotiate with them, we were made to feel that our small job wasn't important to them. They weren't willing to negotiate with us on the options or price, and eventually stopped returning our calls. Based on reviews, I think they do a great job, but if you have a small job, they may not be the company for you.

They quoted $8000 for the job.  The experience was fine.  They were too expensive for the work that I wanted to be done.  They were good with their response.  They showed up on time.  They were really professional and easy to talk to.

We only got a quote from them, we didn’t actually use them. It was a little bit above average than the others. He seemed nice enough and knowledgeable. The price was the main reason we decided not to go with them. They were responsive as far as coming out to give me the quote. But then I had a question on the quote and I never received the phone call back.

We found Blue Moon through a recommendation from a neighbor and decided to get an estimate, then use them to do the work.
Blue Moon came in from day one and really brought a lot of good ideas for how we could renovate this bathroom without spending too much money. For the materials, Dave helped us figure out how we could get the style we wanted in our budget, and we were able to get nicer tile by saving on other parts. He was able to price out the parts and labor for all of our ideas so we could narrow the list down to what we really wanted in the bathroom. That was all just part of the estimate.
Originally, they thought they could get the project done in two days. The demo guy came to rip out the old floor, and thankfully, there were no problems with the sub-floor. The next day, their tile guy didn't show up. Dave came over and apologized for that, even doing some of the work himself to get things ready. He found a new tile guy to come in, who worked really hard throughout the day and even came back on a Saturday to finish the job. The Blue Moon tile guy did really good work, even behind the toilet where no one can see it. Dave came back to do the final touches and make sure that we got the right caulk to match our paint color. (We did the painting)
I'm really pleased that the bathroom turned out as well as it did. We honestly didn't think it could look this nice. When you hire a contractor and everything goes right, you can't really know if you just got lucky that time. It's when something goes wrong, like the first tile guy not showing up, that you can get real insight into how they resolve problems. Based on the results I've seen here, I trust Blue Moon to handle the inevitable problems that come up in larger projects, like my future basement renovation.

We were really happy with our finished product.  They gave us exactly
what we asked for and offered good advice along the way.  The quality of
the work was amazing.  The work took a little longer than expected and
we had some issues with communication between the project manager and
the workers.  Also we felt a little uninformed at times. There were a few surprise costs in the end that we weren't informed at the time that they would cost extra.  We ended up $5000 over budget. It all worked
out in the end and we were very happy with the finished product.
I would recommend them to others for future remodeling work just be sure to keep on them and make sure to ask if there is additional cost  when they suggest changes.

TERRIBLE!  If the above is not enough..Feel free to ask!  I have never written a negative review until this one!

This project went really well. We had been working with Blue Moon on other projects and decided that we really liked what they had done that we wanted them to do our deck and patio. I knew that I could trust Blue Moon to deliver an excellent product and I could trust them to do exactly what they said they would do. To start with we sat down with them and discussed a design for the deck and what we would like to have on it. As soon as we signed the contract they had us on the schedule to start our project and kept us informed of when things were going to happen. The crew that came out to our house was really nice and respectful. When the deck was finished they started on our patio, the stone guy was awesome and would ask us our opinion concerning the final look and how high to do the sitting wall. As the project kept progressing we saw how great everything was looking and are very excited about the final project. The patio ended up being wrapped in the stone that matches the house and the stone layer for the patio look great together. The patio and deck really add a lot to the back to the house and really flow with the design of the house. When the project was completed they made sure the yard was as they found it, so you could not tell that construction had occurred. I love our deck and patio and everyone who sees it loves it. There is nothing that I would do different with this project, it is exactly what I wanted from start to finish.

We worked directly with the owner of the company, John Ronay.  From the beginning, John was very professional and great to work with.  He evaluated our space for the deck, and provided options for deck designs and different deck materials.  John even left us samples to help us decide what decking to use.  John quickly provided us an estimate that was very competitive with others we had received.  Ultimately, we chose to go with Blue Moon because we felt very comfortable and were confident our deck would turn out well.Once the deck building was under-way, we could tell the foreman on the job was very knowledgeable and did a great job.  There was one hiccup that was discovered early in the building process and John was quick to offer a great solution.  It was clear that he stood by the work and wanted to be sure we were happy.  While the work lasted a little longer than we initially thought (but to be fair, it was during the winter holidays), we were very pleased with the results.  John and his team have already been back to look at some minor touch-ups that were needed.  We continue to be happy with their strong overall customer service.

Blue Moon was extremely helpful.  They worked with us from the start to really pick out a flooring that was cost effective and met our needs.  They had a very quick turn around time to get the product and install the product.  The finished product looked great and all the trim work was left looking wonderful.  I couldn't be happier with the product or the company itself.  I would highly recommend Blue Moon to others looking for a quality contractor in Northern Virginia.

Our experience was great with Blue Moon Construction.  They were helpful, thoughtful, available, and prompt.  Blue Moon helped us walk through our options and really pick out the materials that would fit our lifestyle.  We were quoted a price that was competitive.  Blue Moon showed up, began work on the date they scheduled it.  They worked hard to complete the project quickly.  The finished product is amazing.  It looks great.  It is sturdy.  The construction is great.  The materials are great.

I should note that this review is solely about their communication. We did not choose this company so I cannot rate their work. We solicited four quotes for a deck and Blue Moon came in as the highest price. No problem...we just simply chose another contractor. The president, John Ronay, emailed me to ask why we chose someone else. I told him it was as simple as price. He replied in disbelief that another company could do it for that price and even suggested that this company could be "stealing their materials" to get that low. He said he couldn't believe the company was even at cost for that price and then threw in "I want to be in business in 10-15 years and unfortunately some of these other companies will not be." Little did he know was that this other company has been in business since 1981, which is well over two decades longer than his own :). Overall, no need to be bitter when you lose work. It just makes you look bad especially when you are wrong. By the way, we are very happy with the deck the other company put on for his "at cost rates" :)

I had to touch base with J.K. Ronay, the owner of Blue Moon Construction, today (May 5, 2014) and he reminded me that I had never updated my AngiesList recommendation.  I should have.

Blue Moon finished my basement in late December 2012.  I decided to use Blue Moon after talking to more than 5 other contractors because of their overall professionalism combined with a competitive price.  We spent a lot of times working our way through getting the right plan and combination of materials.  I appreciated the way that JK worked with me on price and that he had so many materials/selections on hand at his showroom. 



Blue Moon finished my basement from top to bottom and did a great job.  The bathroom in the basement is now the nicest one in the house.  I love the little bar that we have in a nook that we otherwise wouldn't know what to do with.  Overall, I found them highly responsive and professional.  The job foreman came out daily or was accessible by phone.  The subs were also all courteous and professional.  Throughout the job they regularly kept the job site clean.  Things that particularly impressed me - the finishing (tile work, cabinetry, granite countertop) in the bathroom and the carpet. 



A couple of tips for success.  Check the progress daily...  Because it was a bit of a complex job, two of the smaller walls weren't framed quite where I expected them; because I caught it the same day, it was easy for Blue Moon to rectify.  Lots of small things like that popped up that, because I stayed on top of the job, were easy to catch early.  Over communicate about schedule.  I was "surprised" around December 21-22 when I thought that we just had a few days left to go to finish the basement that the crew was taking the week between Christmas and New Years off.  It was a genuine miscommunication and we talked our way through it  but.... over communicating would help.  These aren't tips specific to Blue Moon; I would recommend them for work with any contractor.



At the beginning of the review I noted that I chose Blue Moon because they seemed to be the best around.  I still believe that and would happily recommend them to others.

Justin stopped by and we walked through what I wanted.  He seemed pretty on the ball but pretty uncertain on the below grade areaway I needed put in.  He promised to get back to me in a week with a quote.  It took a little while to get the bid but, since then they have been super responsive.  I have narrowed down my search to just a couple of firms, Blue Moon and one other.  I will update this review later If I go with them.  Still trying to figure out what the areaway will cost.

They have a good background and reputation for what they do, but their prices seem to be a little higher than others in the area.  We would consider using them in the future if needed. 

Overall it was great.  Blue Moon worked with us to determine the correct fence for our preference.  Blue Moon worked with us to get the approval of our HOA.  Construction was quick, clean, and quality.

The project overall went extremely well. I believe a big part of it had to do with having a terrific "Project Lead" and a husband that likes to do research and pays attention to detail! The start of the project was crazy with so many people working and getting things done. It was exciting. Having someone home helped when questions came up as well as to oversee to ensure we were getting what we expected. We had drawings and renderings of exactly what we wanted which helped. Overall the project went longer than originally planned ..(not unexpected). a few hiccups on their side .. a few changes on our side. Overall the project went great! It was reassuring that at the end of the project Alex was still heavily involved to ensure everything was perfect before we signed off. I would definitely use Blue Moon Construction again. The contractors were extremely courteous and competent. We  paid a fair price for exactly what we were looking and better. Not knowing what to expect from such a big project and hearing others horror stories .. we picked a great, local company! Thanks to Alex for his friendly, responsive, understanding and highly competent approach!
